End of the Year

Predictable post for the last one of the week, but what can I say, I’m still tired and running around like a chicken. So, I thought I’d make this one kind of short and sweet. A prospective list of what is coming from me next year.

My goal is to put out 2 novels next year. One will be the fifth book in the Human-Skinned Wolves Series. The other will either be a start to a new series, or a book about bear shifters. Not sure exactly which yet. Never know how a writer’s mind will go, which is why this is a prospective list.

Everyone have a great New Years. Remember be safe while you enjoy yourselves.

Bast

Bast an Egyption goddess of pleasure. Of course, she is represented by a cat. There was little information I could find about this Demon, but little is better than none.

Cat Familiar

Familiar can be any kind of animal, but most common is the cat. One thing you must know is that familiars chose their witch. Per the site, I learned that cats require space of its own, and high quality food.

This fact makes me wonder just what type of cat food is considered high quality. Does anyone have an idea?

Ramble Day

Wasn’t sure what to choose for a topic today, so you get to hear a bit of a ramble about unusual sounds.

Unusual sounds? How in the world does that relate to the supernatural/paranormal world? It can if you let your imagination soar. Take this for example:

A loud thump fills the air, but there is only you home. You get up and check all the rooms and there is no one trying to get into your place. You check the dishes you had stashed in the drainer, but they are all in place. The thump comes again. The lack of evidence of a source has you shivering and asking ‘what is that?’ You do a second trip through the house, but come up short when a white mist fills the hallway between your bathroom door and the bedroom door. You go to take a step back, but find yourself frozen in fear.

What had you heard?

What was you seeing?

I’d love to hear your answers.

Demon - Leviathan

There are many descriptions of what the Leviathan looks like. A few of them can be found here: http://www.lizaphoenix.com/encyclopedia/leviathan.shtml. These different description made it difficult to pin down a solid photo to share, so I chose one that I liked best out of the options that I was given on google.

Mythical Creature – Sun Wukong

You can find photos and facts about this creature here: http://hero.wikia.com/wiki/Sun_Wukong

Why did I chose this one? Well . . .  First off, the image caught my attention then the fact that he is a Monkey King whose main weapon is a staff drew my interest even more. More I read the more enthralled I became with his magical abilities.

Inspirational Photos

After finding out about different classification of ghost I found myself looking at ghost photos, so that’s my inspirational photo for the week.

Demon of the Day – Incubus

Have to admit when I ran across the description of an incubus being a male night demon who consorts with women while they slept I was a bit confused. More like I’d watched the movie The Covenant one to many times. In the movie, they mention incubus, but they never defined it, so I made assumptions. Wrong ones according to the website I found this information on.

According to, http://www.lizaphoenix.com/encyclopedia/incubus.shtml, an can reproduce whele they are invading a woman’s sleep with their dreams. Spooky to think that anyone could conceive a child from having a nightmare. Gives me the shivevrs.

Did you know . . .

There are many classifications of ghost.

I guess some small part of my mind knew this. How could it not. We’ve all seen the different photos of ghost and saw how these ghost hunter shows and medium people speak with or track down a ghost. I’m sure on some of those shows they’ve mentioned it, but the fact never stuck out in my mind. Not until the other day during some reading I was doing. (Okay, don’t ask why I was reading about ghost. I started out reading about monsters, but ghost was included in the book.)

Of course, this fact had me digging further into the topic. Man, how I can get off onto some strange research that has little or nothing to do with why I was researching in the first place. Anyway, the mere fact of ghost being classified intrigued me, so that’s why it is today’s Fact of the Day.

Mythical Creature of the Day – Crocotta

Crocotta is a combination of a wolf and dog with strong teeth and an uncanny skills of luring using a human voice. It draws both humans and dogs, which allows the Crocotta to devour them.

This tiny bit of information came from:
The Mythical Creatures Bible by Brenda Rosen

After reading this I found several photos that were meant to represent the creature, but many held various version of the name, mainly spelling differences. I wasn’t sure if they were the same or not, but the photo I chose to share fit the description the best in my opinion.

Wicca Altar

During my research into Wicca I found many sights and books full of information, but the one topic that always interested me the most was the Altar that a Wicca follower setup. I never really grasped why there were so many different acceptable ways to set up an altar, until I gave it a bit more thought. It’s like with Christianity. There are many different dominations to follow. They each have their own set of rules and laws. Therefore, it is not illogical for a Wicca follower to follow a different concept of how to set up their personal altar.

The site, http://blessedbe.sugarbane.com/altar.htm gives two great examples of different methods to set up an altar. Take a look at the site and explore them both, letting me know which one intrigues you the most.

I have to agree with the blog writer’s choice. I like the idea of the Elements and their directional pull. How about you?

Go to book.

Today I have a questions for you. What is your favorite book and why?

Have to say it’s hard for me to choose just one, but I have a book I go back to over and over and read. It’s more of a short story, prequel sort of book, but I do not every think I will tire of reading it.

Alpha and Omega by Patricia Briggs. You can find it in the anthology named On the Prowl.

Supernatural Fact of the Day

Did you know that South America is known to have a jaguar shape spirit that seeks and kills murders named Kanima.

I find this neat. Most of the time you hear of the animal shifters harm or are demon possessed, but this one seems to do a kind of service to the world by taking out the bad guys. Neat.

What draws you to the Paranormal/Supernatural World?

Have you ever thought of what drew you to the paranormal/supernatural aspect? Was it the mere mention of something being unheard of? Did you truly believe there were people out there that could cast spells? Could shift into wolves? That had two souls, one animal one human? Was it pure fact of it being a possibility? Or was it simply something that gave you a way to let your imagination run wild.

I’ve asked myself these questions for years, but I have never nailed down an exact reason. Sure, I love to get a book that allows my imagination to conjure up a man, or woman, who has two souls or shares a soul with a wild animal. Then again, when it comes to the ghost and witches, there are aspects I believe about them. (No, I’m not crazy. Well . . . Some may say I am, but I do not think I am. No more than anyone else that is. I think we all bare a little bit of craziness from time to time. It’s how we show our creativity.) Pure fact is, we do not know what secrets are truly hidden among our world. We see what we see and the rest can be hidden from us. No, I’m not saying there is shifters, werewolves, or anything else lurking among us, but . . . Do we really know what all hides among us?

Demon Day - Lamashtu

There are female demons, which shocked me for some reason, so I found this site that gave me a list of names. (http://www.demonicpedia.com/demons/list-of-female-demon-names/)

There were several, but the one that I liked the best was Lamashtu, a goddess of seven witches in one. She is associated with death of unborns and newborns.

I tried to find an image, but what I found was more information from http://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Lamashtu. There was some images, one of which was the rune of Lamashtu. I had no clue there was a demon rune associated with this demon. Neat. Here’s the image of the rune.

There was also loads of different names this demon went by. I suggest if this interest you to visit the site and find out more. http://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Lamashtu
