No Post This week

Hi,

I'm sorry but there will be no post this week. After baking treats and cooking Christmas meal I totally forgot to write them this past Saturday and Sunday was Christmas Eve I did not even realize that it was the day I normally write them on. Heck, didn't even think about them until 9 this morning.

Sorry for that, but next week I'll be back on schedule.

Hope all had a Merry Christmas and are roaring up for a wonderful New Year.

Demon of the Week: Lilitu

Have you ever heard of Lilu? I hadn’t, but she is mixed up among today’s demon choice. Lilitu, is the counterpart of Lilu. She is a demon-triad formed by Lilu, the male, Lilitu, the female).and Ardat Lili, the handmaid.

I know that might be hard to follow, so I’m going to shorten even further if I can. The three in the triad is Lilu, Lilitu, and Ardat Lil.

Lilu = the male
Lilitu = the female
Adrat Lili is a handmaid

Witch Term of the Week

Pastos

There are two story with Pastos, which in Greek means “Chest Coffin).

First one comes from ancient Egyptian myth. It states that the God Osiris was imprisoned and slain by his evil brother.

Second comes from the Golden Dawn, a term also used as a symbolic coffin of Christian Rosenkreutz, who was identified with that of Osiris.

Mythical Creature of the Week

Grither is from a shorty story titled Seasons of Belief by Michael Bishop. Grither came from Rage of all the sailors who became lost and adrift a ship. The story does not explain why Grither kills, besides for selfish pride. He lived in the hull of an ancient packet ship in the arctic circle in a cave on the opposite side of a mountain range flanking Santa’s Workshop. He has excellent hearing to hear when someone speaks his name, because he will hunt that person down murder them, because he believes himself special enough his name should never be spoken. He can be deterred if the victim finishes the story of the Grither that details his creation and general MO before the Grither arrives, a story few know.

Detective Walt Bell made decisions all the time, that changed people’s lives. Never once did he think he would be facing the one in front of him. He’d thought leaving the Haven Society Hive had been the worst one he’d face in life. Fate must have other thoughts. The one that loomed in front of his Bear Therianthropy ass could put him in a major bind. What was he to do? How was he to respond? Sure not like he had for the last two weeks. Sitting on his ass and watching.

Witches Altar

I was surfing images of altars the other day while I had some downtime, and thought I’d share this particular one. It’s not fancy, or even bright, or dark, with colors like the others, but I found the article linked to the photo interesting.

Witchcraft Symbol

I was looking through some symbols the other day and ran across one that caught my attention. More like the information about it did.

Did you know that the CROSS was a symbol related to witchcraft before Christian adopted it. There is a different. The arms of the cross is equally length, whereas the crossbar being shorter. Why? The CROSS is witchcraft means balance. Witches may wear the symbol in order to gain balance in their live, or a reminder to maintain in balance. The ones who are marked with a cross on their wrist are ones who have mastered working and walking in balance.

Research

Few post back,(not sure how long ago) I wrote some post about some research I was doing on becoming a Wicca. Today I did a bit more and liked the approach this site mentioned. It started out that you had to do the research and learn what the Wiccan Religion is. Second step was to choose your deities and develop relationship with them.

This is the one that got my attention. The other research book I read did not mention this aspect, which intrigued me. So, today I have a question for research purpose.

If anyone knows can you tell me if you have to build a relationship with the chosen deities, or not?

Hermetic Quaternary

One of the required understanding to the theory and practice of witchcraft is the Hermetic Quaternary. Which consist of four parts. To Know. To Will. To Dare. To Keep Silence. This is an image of a triangle inside a circle. To know is the bottom of the triangle. To dare is the left slant of the triangle. To will is the right slant of the triangle. Keep silence is the circle.

To Know or Earth tells us that there is power in knowledge.
To Will or Air tells us that power and discipline is the device of creation.
To Dare or Fire tells us you have to know how to mediate and focus. Basically you are willing to create now do it.
To Keep Silence or water tells us that silence is a potent reserved power.

Ramble Day

This week I’ve been working hard on edits on another book. (Not mentioning title yet. Sorry.) I’m trying to get this one tidied up before the middle of October, so that I can start with a clean slate for NaNoWrMo 2017. I’m super excited about that. I’ve not had much time to do lots of free writing lately, because of trying to tie up some other novels that I have ready for revision and edits. Sometimes you have to just bite the bullet and do the parts you aren’t the fondest of. (Not that I mind doing those parts, it’s just not the funniest. In my opinion.) On the good side, this means there will be lots of books for me to finish up over the next year and publish for your enjoyment.

Demon of the Week: Undines

An Undines is an elementary spirit of water. They are females who appear in the form of a human woman, but can assume the shape of a fish, or a snake. They cannot see us, but we can see them. They are anxious to enter the human realm to gain a human soul, because if they die before the soul arrives they disappear for life rather than living forever. They obtain the soul by producing a child with a man. However, most of the time they become attached  to a human in attempt to be of service to them. Most of the time they become attached to older women who are witches.

Ligature

Ligature is magic performed when one ties a string, thread, or cord of one or more knots. This is commonly used for binding spells. In Ancient Greek sorcerers used this method to bind wind to give sailors fair weather.

In Wicca tradition ones being initiated measure themselves with a cord from head to toe, then tie two or three knots to mark their first, second, and third degree of their progress. These knots serve as a magical binding preventing their energy from dispensing.

Raymond sighed so hard Ethan felt a vibration through the link. I guess. When are we leaving.
Didn’t Calvin tell you?
Ugh . . . Raymond’s stall was kind of cute, and brought a spring of happiness to the front of Ethan’s mind. He hadn’t told us. I overhead him talking to Thomas.
Ethan chuckled at how sneaky his mate was. You are such a good man, Master.
Oh, my Boy likes the idea of me sneaking around and eavesdropping on another Master Dom.
He wasn’t going to say so. His Master would end up making it a lesson for him the moment he came home and Ethan wanted to seal their trio the moment his mates arrived.
Wise decision, Boy.
I thought so, Master.
Boy, answer your Master.

At two, Master. Timbo and Job will meet you guys at the airport.

People have a misconception of Merfolks. Most believe them to be harmless, but in the older sense of the word they are referred to as monstrous.

This fact came from: Monsters An Investigatior’s Guide To Magical Beings by John Michael Greer

I have to agree with this since they are known for forming storms with singing and seducing hapless sailors in order to drown them.  Not sure how anyone could see such a creature as being harmless.
