Chapter 17 part 1

Rex hung limp from the cross. He’d only ever saw the item in the slight bondage he’d seen in some prono vidoes. Bondage wasn’t his thing. Looked like Mr. Chamberland loved to inflict pain. Made sense that people referred to his little playroom as the dungeon. He sure made it one. Or him and his goons had. There’d been five or six men in and out of the room beating him and using all kinds of equipment on him. His skin had been flayed from his back and chest. Some from his thighs where they’d stripped him down to his birthday suit. Embarrassment had left him hours ago. All he wanted was to be let down and some rest. Still, his wolf and him refused to give into Mr. Chamberland’s demands. There would be no submitting to him. Not over choosing a woman to settle down with. No one would make him chose someone he was not attracted to. It was not meant to be that way. Not like that was the real reason that he was being beaten. Nope. Mr. Chamberland had let that slip hours into the second round of beatings he delivered.

Nope the reason came down to the fact that he carried Warlock blood. Being a half-breed. That was something Mr. Chamberland thought he could beat out of him. Wasn’t sure how he thought that was doable, but the man was sure trying to milk all the blood he could from him.

The door flew open and Mr. Chamberland stormed in with Larry and two others that Rex could not put names to. The horrific looks on their faces gave him hope that they were not there to add to his wounds.

“Get him down and clean him up. That bastard of a father will be here in a few hours and I don’t want no sign of the beatings showing.” Mr. Chamberland came to stand in front of him and took hold of his chin, forcing him to look him in the eyes. “You will stand up tall and show no signs of discomfort. Are we clear as the day you were born?” He released my chin and walked away before he got an answer, pausing before he left the room. “If you let on, then Alex and Zac will pay the price. We clear?”

Rex wasn’t sure who they were, but he was sure that Larry would fill him in.

Larry came over and water slid down his cheeks as he looked up at him. “I am so sorry you have suffered so long.”

“How long has it been?”
