New Way to Find A Book

 Hi All,

I know I've been away for a long time, but I've been super busy with writing, family life (major family life), and started working towards my bachelor's degree in English/Creative Writing. I am working on a book, but in the meantime, I've tried a new way to publish a book of mine. So here is a new link to buy my Marked Ones: David and Bryan.

Lightning Strike Part 3

Dad was specific about how he was raised. He and Grandfather were meticulous on his schooling. Not only did he attend a top-notch private boys’ school full of humans, but during the breaks his time was full of Magical History, Magical Talents, Magical Balance, Magical Elemental Skills, Magical Herbs, and anything related to Magical Creatures one could fathom. He was the only person alive who had a childhood that consisted of only learning. Not that it didn’t pay off. He’d gained a full ride to Magical/Human World College, the top-notch college in the world. Upon exiting, he held a position in the Magical/Human Revelation World. Or he did. Who knew where he’d be in a few minutes thanks to his Dad? The job he worked hard to gain over the last three years might be washed down the drain before he got a month into it.

“Do as you were told by me, boy. I taught you long before I left this world. Listen to what I taught you, no one else and you will do find.”

The voice came to life from the depths of his mind, creating shivers across his arms. His father, not dad, but biological father, who along with his mother, and three other siblings had been wiped out by the Orgs when he was eight. The man he referred to as Dad and Grandfather had been his nanny and his father’s right-hand man. The fateful night his family met their demise his father ran into the room with his grandfather and ordered his grandfather to get him and his dad out. The next thing Jeffery knew he'd been shuffled into a dark, musky-smelling secret passageway behind his iron-posted headboard. He never saw his birth family again. He knew his grandfather went back for them after stashing him and his dad at some safe house on the outskirts of the family land that was tucked some miles deep in the woods. Upon his return Jeffery’s grandfather told his dad in hushed tones and where he thought Jeffery couldn’t hear that the Orgs left only bits and pieces behind. His dad’s response had been Orgs and their damn axes all be to the Elemental Pits of Effery Cove. Jeffery knew even back then what it meant, he was a child king to a kingdom that no longer existed. The Orgs had been demolishing every kingdom they came across for years upon years, most putting up a fight and causing a hardship on themselves for years before they lost the battle to the Orgs. His father had been no different. Him and the Orgs had been in a constant state of battle for over twelve years, as long as he and his above-him sister had been alive. The two of them knew nothing different than the results of a day’s battle, but they knew their father came home to them each night and read to each of them. Or he read to his four eldest daughters and to his young son, his heir, the future king of the Kingdom of Effery Cove, he taught lessons of what his life would be like. It was those lessons that Jeffery retold himself night after night for the first five years after losing his family. After that time frame, his anger for retribution faded into a desire for a life of his own and he began to work towards that goal since he knew there would be no kingdom for him to rule. No one knew him to be alive and no one knew his true identity.

“It is time they do. Elder Summar knows who you are, son, and he will make sure your position is restored. Now, do as you are told.”

“Fine, young King of Effery Cove. We will do this the hard way.” The old crumpled-looking man snapped his fingers and chains wrapped around his wrist as a man appeared to hover over him.

“Who . . . Where did you come from?”

“I’ll take the Futurity Teller,” he reached behind Jeffery’s back, snatching the foolscap from his hands. “And as for you,” The burly, well-built man who reminded him of how his grandfather looked when they first fled his castle, faced his dad and touched the top of his forehead.

His dad slumped to the side, landing with a thud.

“What did you do? Is he hurt?”

“The Stealer of Life’s Future is perfectly fine, just subdued for travel. He is unlike us.”

“What’d that mean?” Dad was as magical as he was.

Chapter 34

How did I tell him that I’d not expected so much press? Maga had told me there’s be a major change in my life when I chose him, but he said nothing about press. It seemed like it would be like a life of royalty or star life. Wasn’t sure how I felt about that. Couldn’t change thing, I’d done accepted him. Would I want to?

No.

Just wished I had known before hand. It would have eased my mind. I might have taken a bit more time to gather my wits about me before accepting him.

No I wouldn’t have. It had been done in the heat of things just like it should have been done. I was just nervous. Overly caution. Fretting over what would never be in my control.

“Nothing.” I leaned over, gently taking his face in my hands, kissing him.

“Much as I loved that, I know something was bothering you.”

“Had to work through my own . . . thoughts of what I hadn’t known to expect. That’s all, sweetiums.”

“Oh, the intense press.” He sounded do dismissive of it. “Guess it don’t bother me anymore. Can see how it would you. It will get quieter once the newness of us wears off. I promise, Honey.”

He should know. And we’d come up here to be together. I wasn’t going to let them ruin our time together. Not again.

I climbed onto his lap, running my tongue around the outer edge of his tongue. He groaned, gripping my waist and yanking me closer to him, rubbing our cocks together.

“Man alive, you know how to turn me on.”

“Just getting started, swettiums.”

Drove my hand under the edge of his shirt, pushing it up and over his head. My fingers trailed over his shoulder, down his chest and around his nipples, pausing to rub across them. I was on my back and my pants were at my waist before I could take a breath.

“Take it you like your nipples —” A groan flowed from me as his hand wrapped around my cock, stroking up slowly, twisting around the mushroom head. “Oh, man.”

“Going to make you shout until the every window in this place rattles.”

Bet he could.”

Chapter 32

Well, hell fire. Course there was a reason he went all cold fish on me. Other than his distain for me.

“Did you truly think I disliked your touch, Honey?” He nipped my ear again, tugging me to his side afterwards. “Ready to go watch that movie?”

What movie? We’d not discussed that. Was this some other official Underworld thing I wasn’t aware of. What good had it done me to read that stupid, huge ass book if it didn’t tell me all I needed to know?

He led us back inside and into the pantry area before I blinked. Felt like, at least. Moment we were inside the small four-by-four square room with the door shut, he slammed me up against the wall.

His lips slammed over mine, drinking every waking breath from me until we had to part. We both took in a couple of gasping breaths as we leaned our foreheads against one another. The contact had did little to ease my distressed cock. In fact, made it a thousand times worse. From the looks of the front of his nice ass pants, his problem had only became worse.

Without thought, I gripped the button of his jeans, but his hand came up to stop me. He lifted my chin so I was looking him in the eyes.

“I’m not taking you in this dingy place, and if you touch me that’s going to happen. Promise you that, Sweetheart. I I need you to understand I was not shutting you down outside or now without cause, Honey.”

“Then why did you drag us in here if not to be alone with me?”

“To explain, because there are visitors coming.”

Visitors? “I know no one.”

“Not for you, but for us.”

“Moloch’s next test, I assume.”

“Why is he testing me?”

“This time it was you he tested, but me.”

“What?”

“He sent the Underworld Times and instead of knocking to start with, they sent their photographer to try and get some uncompromising shots.”

Ah . . . That’s why he stopped me. We’d not been visible unless someone had snuck onto the property. Maga told me once Ez and I became official and he moved here that the place would be beefed up, but until then there were ways people could get to him here. That’s why His Highness sent someone.

“He wants to catch you in a compromising way.”

“Unsure what he thought he’d achieve from such a stunt, but Maga and myself are always aware of what is taking place around us. I might have been totally lost in you,” he gave me a chaste kiss. “But I heard the leaves rustle and felt the eyes on me before the guy had a chance to raise his monorinic camera.”

“Thank you.”

“For what, Honey?”

“Not allowing me to be photographed in such a manner.”

Knew he was the Prince, but never considered what all that meant for him. Or me, when I joined his life. Guess I’d have to learn to watch and listen while I’m outside. Would Maga help me learn the stuff required to do so? Did I have time to learn them before I failed another test his Highness sent our way?

“I would never allow such to be done to you. Anyone who dares come near you will have the entire weight of the Underworld come down on top of them. We clear, Honey? You are not going to have to change because we are together.”

“You can’t say that.” I kissed his sexy nose. “But it’s nice that you’d try to protect me from stuff you can’t.”

“And why can’t I? I’m the Prince of the Underworld. If no one else can, then who?”

“Has your life not been filled with looker-loos and story seekers since you were born?”

Hated when his shoulder slumped and he groaned.

“See you get my drift.”

“I don’t want to lose you because of these bastards.” He nuzzled my neck, licking it all the way up to my earlobe, nipping. “Honey, please don’t let them take you from me.”

“Who said anything about me doing such?” I hugged him tighter. “I”m too stubborn to allow such foolishness, and that’s what your Highness done by sending someone here, to take away what belongs to me.”

“I belong to you?”

“Yes, is that not what the prophecy and our hormones tell us?”

“I want you to belong to me, because you want to. Not because of nature or prophecies.”

“I do belong to you.”

Wasn’t sure what I done, or said, but it felt as if something broke through my breast bone. I reached up to my chest only to have my hand shoot between a fiery colored ray of light. I followed its trajectory and found it came to rest right over Ez’s heart. He stared down at the light, smiling and licking his lips. My fingers traced the beam up to the point my hand rested over his chest.

“You are officially mine now.” Ez laid his hand over mine. “And I could be no more the prouder than to call you my Chosen One.”

A knock on the pantry door pulled a loud shout from Ez. “Not know.”

“Sorry, Prince Ez, but you have company that is becoming persistent.” Maga’s voice was clear and concise with what he required of us, but Ez jerked the door open, snarling at him.

Maga took a step back, bowing as he said, “Sorry, Sir. Was unaware of your combining.”

Combining? Oh shit. Maga was right. My words. He’d asked me and I agreed, sealing myself to him in that moment. I hadn’t meant to, not at this point and time, but I had.

Damn it.

Was there a reason for a damn it? I mean I was going to give myself to him, that had already been concluded, so what difference did it make if it was earlier than I planned?

None.

Would have liked to have done it somewhere nicer and more romantic than a food closest.

“I’ll buy you some time, Prince Ez.” Maga turned and all but ran out of the room.

Ez sealed us back behind the door, jerking me against him and slamming his lips over mine, gripping my ass cheeks so hard I’d have bruises. He pulled us together until our chest were flush against each other, then hefted me into his arms.

“Can’t take you now, Honey, not like I want. Definitely, not in here. Want you in an amazingly, soft bed where I can devour every inch of you. One that we will spend the rest of our lives building a life together. First, though, we have to take care of the intruders.”

Not an option to answer him. His mouth covered mine and my legs tightened around his waist as our cocks slid over one another. Whoever was here, had better be dealt with quick or I might kill them.

He patted my leg after giving me one more swift kiss. “Hope down, Honey. Let’s go handle these bastards and then you can show me to our room.”

Chapter 30

Our meal had been great and after that we headed out to the gardens. I looked often to see if I saw Maga, but he was nowhere in sight, which was good, because Ez was walking right against my back. It didn’t bother me, much, and not in a bad way either. It had my skin heating up and my fangs dropping. We had just gotten inside the gazebo and his arms slid around my waist, tugging me back against him.

“Is this fine, my Chosen One?” Air brushed across my ears, sending shivers across my body.

“Thought we were going to take things slow.”

“I’m trying, but you are so delicious looking and the natural desire is revving my desire to hold and touch you. I will back off if you wish me to.”

I spun in his arms, taking in his masculine jaw line and his faint mustache that was darker than his silvery hair that always appeared as if someone had ran their hands through it. That hair looked soft and before I knew what I was doing, my hands were massaging his scalp, letting those fine, thin strains of hair brush across my hands.

“Just as soft as I thought.”

“Anything else about me you wish to find out about?”

Lots, but was it the right time to do so. Maga was nearby. He did not need to see me become some kind of lust filled Inccubus. It was part of my DNA, even if it was dormant while in the Underworld. Still, I felt it as part of my life. It had not died away. It might not be active, but I’d lived that life for all my life and my body was accustom to an active libido. And Maga said the Angire Demon had a high sexual desire when they were coming into their demon side. I was still a young demon thanks to just coming to the Underworld. Add in the fact Ez was my Chosen One . . .

Hell yeah, I wanted him. My cock was thick and thumping with desire.

“Kiss me.”

Chapter 29

We sat at the table full of food, filling our plates. Ez waited until I had mine full and in front of me before he began to gather his food. I was waiting for him to get his food and begin eating, but we ended up sitting there staring at one another. There is no clue how long we would have sat like that if Les hadn’t chuckled from behind the island.

“What is it?” Ez glanced back at Leg.

“Sorry, Sir, but I do not think Nacal is aware of our custom.”

“Ah, is that the case, my Chosen One.”

“I’m afraid I have no clue what you two are talking about.”

“It is improper for me to eat before you have taken your first bite. Just like I waited until you filled your plate. It is my job to ensure you have been fed and provided for.”

Improper? What in the world? Why had that not been in the book? How was I supposed to know these small details if they were not noted?

Odd and strange customs. “What other customs don’t I know about?” If he is waiting for me is he viewing himself higher than me? He sort of is, but a relationship should be equal, shouldn’t it? “Why are you waiting and not me?”

“You should always go before me, it is only the safest manner. There are others for when we are out in public, but I do not wish to discus them at this time.”

Didn’t want to discuss them, then he knew I wouldn’t like them. Or at least thought I wouldn’t. What had being his Chosen One gotten me into?

“I think I might need to know these customs up front.”

“I do not wish to scare you before I have gotten a chance to know you and you know me.” He reached across and took hold of my hand. “Customs can be changed. Discarded even, if I wish them be.” He twined his fingers through mine. “But if you hear them before you know me then I fear you will judge me based on them and not my true self.”

Damn, he made a good point. I needed to come into our relationship with an open mind about who he was. Not what the Underworld required. Like he said, he could change things. Benefit of being the Prince of the Underworld.

“Agree.” I took a bite of lasagna, focusing on my food, giving him time to do the same.

We ate half our meal in silence before Ez laid his fork down and said, “Tell me what kind of movies you like?”

“Paranormal, Sci-Fi, and Horror, some comedy. Pretty much anything that is interesting. How about you.”

We fell into the twenty-question relationship part of the get to know one another, while we finished our meal.

Chapter 26

The night before had been more magical than I expected. I’d spent more time with Ez than I thought I would. When I’d reentered the banquet hall the other suitors had left. When I queried where everyone went, Les said they knew their chance was gone once I went away with the Prince. Guess it made since, was the truth. Me and him was meant to be. I’d gone to bed and stared up at the ceiling the rest of the night until I fell asleep.

I’d woken hungry, so I came down the steps only to find Maga flying through the air. His arms scrambled to make purchase with something as he hissed and shot fangs at the invisible threat. I ran up to him, reaching out for him but a heat searing non-existing wave scaled my hand and arms. I jerked them back, tucking them against my body, forcing he scream down as my own fangs shot down.

“Maga, what is happening?”

His mouth opened and closed, but no sound exited.

“Les!”

Les came running to my side, gasping as he grabbed me by the waist, pulling me back.

“You can’t help him.”

“What is happening?”

“Moloch.”

My eyes scanned the room, stopping on the stern eyes silver haired rude man I’d met last night. Ez sat beside him shaking his head, jerking at his father hand.

“Ez, please stop him.” I whined, dropping to my knees.

“Why do you care for the man who kept your true side hidden?” Your Highness spoke through clenched teeth, but his hand remained high as Maga remained press against the far wall, dangling.

“He didn’t. That was my mom.”

“Highness,” Ez locked eyes with me, smiling. “I told you Maga would not deceive us.”

“I’m unsure of that, yet.” Moloch lowered Maga to the floor and held his hand up before Maga could speak. “Tell me your side of the story.”

Maga bowed his head after he frowned at me. I knew he did not wish me to hear the story. He’d refused to tell me the entire story. I’d heard bits and pieces of it from him, but a shortened version. I feared I was about to hear the full detailed one and Maga did not wish to. Either it was going to make mom look much worse or him in some manner. I truly didn’t care anymore. My life was what it was and I had accepted that. Me and Ez was meant to be and that was going to be my life. Ez has accepted the fact I wished to take things slow and he had even stepped in when I asked him to. That meant a lot to me. Showed me a lot about his character and his devotion to Maga.

“I was clearing the Shorefront Hotel when I ran across the Jilyss Sto. I knew instantly she belonged to me.” Shorefront Hotel was one of the main hotels used before the Incubi Headquarters were built. Mom spoke of it often when I was small. She despised the place, thought it was foul. Stated people used to spin on the leaders there. Maybe her hatred for the place had more to do with her run-in with Maga than her devotion to the Incubi Headquarters. “Once my job for you was done, I went to my Chosen One and brought her to the Underworld. She was pissed at me to say the least. Demanded I return her to the Incubus/Succubus World. I begged for her to give us a chance. Sank low enough to tell her the prophecy my family had been told about a child of mine being the fated one to the Prince of the Underworld.” Maga hung his head, shaking it. “I wished I had not, but I am glad I did, because it got me my son. I trusted my Chosen One to explain who he was to her, but she did not do as I thought she would. It was my fault that I trusted her to do so. I never believed she would keep his true side form him. I gave her all the books he would need. I have no clue why she kept him in the dark, and can not ask her. She found some way to block our connection, which is why I did not know she had died in some explosion.”

Mom had blocked him? That meant she went to a witch. It was the only way to pull such off, or according to the book I read. Why had Maga not going into detail about why he wished he had not told her about the prophecy?

“You are leaving out a major part of the story.” Moloch tilted his head to the right. “Are you not?”

“Why are you making me do this to my son?”

“I deserve to know if you are loyal to me, do I not?”

“I have always been loyal to you, Your Highness.”

“Moloch, he has been. There is no sense in putting him through this. No sense in hurting him. He has proven his loyalty to us.” Ez moved so he stood in front of his father. “I mean it. I will not allow you to harm my Chosen One in any manner. No cease this.”

“No.” Moloch shoved Ez aside and pointed at Maga. “Explain why you wished you had not told you Chosen One about the prophecy.”

Maga looked at me, shaking his head and said, “Son, I am so sorry.”

“It is fine, Dad.”

A smile came over his face and he took in a huge breath, releasing it slow. “Jilyss immediately decided to use it as a bargaining chip. She said she would stay with me until she was pregnant then return to the Inccubus/ Succubus World with her family, raise our son until the day the prophecy came true. She begged and pleaded with me to let her return to her family. Swore she’d take care of my child. Swore she would love and raise him like she was doing with her other children. That her husband would treat him as his own. I knew she would never be happy in the Underworld or with me. Her heart belonged to the family she already had. I had lost my time with my Chosen One, but was going to be able to gain a child from her. A part of her who would one day come to join me. Or so I believed. I agreed and spent several wonderful days with her.”

I’d been right. Mom had used me as a bargaining chip. I was nothing to her but a way to return to the family she had before I came along. She never showed me anything but love, that much was true, but she kept who I was from me. Why? I would never be able to know and I guess it didn’t matter. What did was my life had been meant to be in the Underworld all along and I’d been robbed of that chance because my mom loved her other family more than she did her Chosen One. I’m unsure how she was able to do so, but she had. I guess it was an succubus thing. With the way I already felt towards Ez, I do not think I could do such to him. Maybe it was because I was not already in love with someone else. Whatever mom’s reason was, she’d driven my life down the path it’d taken, it was my time to take it in the path it should have been down all along.

“Moloch, you have your answer, now cease the interrogation of your number one guard. You have known all along that he has not failed you.” Ez glanced back at me. “And all you are doing is hurting my Chosen One. I do not appreciate it.”

“Are you sure about this, Ez? Son, he’s blinded to our world.”

Ah, the truth of the matter comes to life. I knew Moloch would never accept me, but going after my dad was something I never expected. He knew Maga for so many years. Maga had worked for him. Been his son’s guard. He trusted him, why think he turned on him? It was all a game to try and turn his son against me.

“I ask again, Son, are you able to overlook his lack of knowledge of our world.”

MOloch’s skin glistened brighter as his eyes nailed me with pure uncertainty. Those all but dull, lighted eyes said it all. He anted his son attached to someone more educated to the Underworld. He’d not gotten the prophecized man he dreamed of.

Guess his dram was shattered like my Journey Announcement Day had b een. Neither of us dreamed of my life being what fate declared, but from what Ez Moloch stated he cared less about how educated I was.

“He will learn, Moloch. Simple as that, father.”

Ugh . . . What to say to that? He wasn’t, but was. Failed to explain how the Underworld worked. All I knew was from some story books and some lack education from school. Came into the entire situation with pitch black cloth over my eyes. Uneasy didn’t fit. Scared about didn’t fit. Didn’t want him to think that was because of him. Alone at least. It had been a combination of him and my mom. She should have left me a note at least. She felt it wise to enlighten Grandma Sto, but not her own son. The one she knew who would suffer through it. Felt like most of the blame fell on her, not him. Transition part, would have been easier if I knew it might have been a possibility to begin with. Could have prepared myself for it.

The deep rich taste of blood welled up in my mouth as skin peeled back from my lower lip. My hand flew up to my lips. Coolness and . . .

“What the . . . Are these . . .”

“Your fangs came in.” Maga blurred he was at my side so fast. “Wow, nice long set too. I’m proud of you.”

“Proud.” Of fangs. “Think need to sit down.” I reached out behind me, feeling the hardness of the wooden bed footboard.

Maga took grip of my arm and led me back until my legs hit the bed. I let myself drop onto the softest mattress I’d ever felt. More like a cloud. Where had he gotten such fine material? The books in school said the Underworld was drab and lacking. What I’d seen so far was far from it, beside Maga’s office. It needed a bit of help in my opinion.

“Fangs are a matter of pride among the Angire Demons. Each member of our family has had a set that reached the bottom of their lower lip. You have not failed in that department. It will intrigue Prince Moloch. I’m sure of it.”

“What else is important about our species?”

“First, we do not refer to ourselves as species.”

“Then what?” Incubus always referred to themselves as a species among their world.

“We are simply a Angire Demon or another demon from the Underworld. You will find that’s how each demon refers to themselves down her. Their pure demon name or just demon.”

“Okay.”

“What type of demon is Prince Moloch?”

“He doens’t have a specific kind of demon.”

“Huh?”

“He is the son of the father of the Underworld.”

“Doesn’t the being the leader of the Underworld mean he was voted in?”

A loud chuckled flowed from Maga as he shook his head. “No. By no means are we democratic. Moloch is the creator of all demons, each classification of demons came from his mind alone. He took a strength and capability he has and pulled a string of it from him into one demon style, creating a demon from it.”

“Is there some books I can read up on the Underworld? What we were taught seems a incorrect.”

“I will show you a history book that you will enjoy immensely.” Maga looked down at me. “Your color is returning. Does that mean you are feeling better?”

“My head has quit swimming. I think my own anger and the fangs surprising me hit me hard.”

“Would not surprise me if all of this has not consumed your entire mind and body, driving your entire system out of whack. The shift from Incubus to Demon would be traumatic on anyone, I would assume.”

Come to think of it, my body did ache, but the shock of mom’s major secret, meeting my biological father, being named fated to Prince Moloch’s, and desire for ripping someone in half and fangs ripping through my gums . . . blocked me from taking note of how much pain wracked my body.

It could all stay in the background far as I was concerned. Guess that’s why I asked my next unexpected question.

“How do you know so much about Prince Moloch’s and does he have a name?”

A fire ended his dream life years before it should have.

Ja Walker wasn’t dead, neither was the love of his life, thanks to his minuscule amount of Magical Power, but the use of it terminated his life. Magical Beings weren’t allowed to use their skills in front of humans. To save the one that mattered most to him, Ja did the one thing that would get him sent back to the place he waited over fifteen long years to get away from . . . the Magical World. And he wouldn’t be returning to the family who disowned him or the coven that he was supposed to have taken over once he turned twenty-one.

He’d be taken to a coven where he’d be shunned, overlooked, or beaten because he had been sent back to the Magical World. After all, that’s what happened to those who disgraced themselves by breaking the laws. But that was okay with Ja, he’d take whatever punishment came his way as long as the love of his life was alive and well.

Ja resigned himself to a life of being invisible, but he never expected what happened when Elder Robert brought him to the Clive Coven.
