Mythical Creature of the Week: BabaYaga

Baba Yaga, a haggish character in Slavic Folklore. She kidnaps and most likely eats, small children. Lives in a hut tat stands on chicken legs and is portrayed as an antagonist, who is often saught out for wisdom. (Weird. Don’t think I would seek out a hag who eats people for wisdom.)

Demon Writing Challenge

This week I’m challenging you to write a scene or an opening sentence based off of the photo below. I hope to read lots of imaginative things from you all. Don’t worry, I’ll be adding my own thoughts below.

My thoughts:

Little red light drew my next victim. I needed one more little girl to complete the ritual that would free me from the confinements of hell for the rest of my life. I had little time left to complete the process, before the demon skeleton hunter reached my hiding place.

My thought:

A fact that I’d like to writer about is the seven deadly sins. I’d like to take them and turn them into a story with a deep meaning that comes across in a funny manner.

My thought:

Was it safe? My mom had told me over and over that the small hut in the center of the forest was home of some kind of creature. Course, the townsmen told me my mom was insane to think that any kind of monster lived anywhere near the town. They’d wipe out a herd of mintours years ago. So there was no way that one lurked in the woods. They knew what would come to them if they took residence near the Town of Havenfield.

Rachael intensified her musical call for her coven. Time for them to choose another Coven Leader. It could only be done during the full moon and there was no better than time than when the moon was its brightest.

Mythical Creature - Elves

Elves play a major role among many areas of the gaming and Sci-Fy world. Most are well-know by their ears and beauty. But . . . are they always beautiful mythical creatures. I don’t think so.

To me when I think of elves I think of conniving and trickery. Those aspects can be produced in many glamourous images, but when it comes right down to it, those two traits are the ugliest aspects a person can have. So, do you truly think elves are beautiful mythical creatures, or are they only portraying such to lure us in?

Thought this week I’d share an infomercial I found on Pinetrest. Caught my attention because I heard about the Total Eclipse that is coming up later on in the month. Hope it helps you understand a bit more about how the moon phrases co-mingles with the earth, and other aspects of our life. I can see why the Wicca Religion hold many celebrations based on the cycle of the moon.
