Free Write Scene

Hi,

Sorry, there’s been no post this month. I’ve been dead into the free write I’m on for NaNoWrMo. I’m not done with it, but I’ve surpassed the 50,000-word mark, winning NaNoWrMo for the year. Yeah me!

Once I get this story wrapped up and shaped up, it’s going to be a great little story that I think all will love to read and get lost in. I’m going to take a small time out from writing it and write you a free write scene today. I hope you can get lost in what I come up with.

Free Write Scene

Kamal watched through the binoculars as the unknown creature-man hulked his way down the halfway cut path through the cornfield. The half-grown corn made it easier to see him or he’d be hidden from it, but it kept the sun off the guy, which is what the guy had to be after because before he got under the shade of the taller stalks of the corn his body had been putting off steam and smoke. Kamal only saw such stuff when watched his Vampire movies. Heck fire, it was as if he'd been transported into one of them.

He'd been bird-watching in the forest behind the open field before old man’s Sawtooth’s corn field when he spotted the creep, black trench coat man-wearing guy all but Tasmanian Deviling it across the open field. When he spotted the stubbles of smoke rising off of him, he’d zoomed in on him. At first, he though the guy was on fire and trying to free himself of the coat by throwing his arms up in the air, but nope the guy had been yanking the coat over his head, shielding his face.

“Aren’t the birds the other way, bro?” His brother, Shamal yelled up at him, scarring away any birds that might have been lurking.

“Thanks man, you have no clue what you are doing.” He took one more look in the binoculars only to find the guy vanished from his line of sight. “Where did you go?”

“You found one then? What is it? Come on, tell me. You’ve been out here for three weeks straight trying to catch sight of some miraculous bird.”

He wished he’d found what he came here looking for. His sponsor was going to kick him in the butt for wasting so much money spending three weeks in a hotel in one location with no results. A photo of any kind of bird might have appeased him, but Kamal refused to take a shot unless it was worthy of news, which meant he rarely took one. He’d make news with his next photo or never take another one in his life. He’d deemed it his goal in life and he’d succeed.

“Did you get the shot?”

He put the binoculars back up to his head, “It wasn’t nothing, after all.” What a lie! Something and a half, but what? He had to investigate, even if it wasn’t in his wheelhouse. Yet, he’d not be taking his brother into the fray of things. Whatever he saw, it sure wasn’t cosher and didn’t involve birds. It meant leaving his baby brother behind safe and sound tucked away in the hotel room. He thought his boss might kill him if he failed to get something while here, but if he endangered his brother his mom would kill him and bring him back multiple times in order to do so again in more horrible manners.

Camp July 2021

Today Starts Camp Nano July 20201

My Project for this month is to work on the first book in the newest series I am free writing on. What I am going to be doing is a revision on book 1. My word count goal is 15,000 words. Kind of on the low side, but since it's Camp I can adjust it if I need to late in the month. I have loads of medical appointments schedule in July and don't want to feel rushed. Have to have time to give those characters the chance to come to life.

So, wish me luck on Camp NaNo July 2021

Author's Ramble

 Hi,

No new chapter today. Sorry. There will be one Wed. Sunday, the day I write my blog post, was my birthday, so I did not write. I spent the time with my family. So, I am going to take tomorrow to write the chapter for Wed.

Oh, and an update on the books I'm working on. I am almost done on the revision on Marked One Caleb and Taylor (last book in that series). I also have a new series idea underway that I am very excited to work on. I think everyone will enjoy it. Until then, keep your eyes open for the release date for Marked Ones Caleb and Taylor. Not sure when it will be announced, but I hope to enter the edit phase by the end of the month, which means it won't be much longer.

Hope all is doing well and staying safe. Those who are able I hope you get the vaccine soon as you can. Take care of yourself and remember wear your mask when you go outside or around people other than those who live with you.

Let your imagination soar when you read.

No New Post This Week

Hi,

Sorry guy's, there'll be no new post this week.

I've been lazy and have not taken the time to think of a new story to start, so it will be next week before I start another one. Sorry for that, but while I'm thinking up one for the blog, I am hard at work on the fourth book for the Marked Ones Series. On that front, I'd like to thank everyone that has borrowed or bought a copy of Marked Ones Theodor and Aidan. I hoped you all enjoyed it and was able to let your imagination soar while you read it.

Have a great week and remember a new story will start next week.

Change to Blogging Method

Hi all,

Sorry I've been MIA for so long. It's been hard to juggle everything in my life and I have slipped on some of my writing jobs. I apologize for that. For that reason I have revised how I will be posting to the blog sight. Instead of four post a week I'm going to three. The post will be on Mon. Wed. Thur. each day will have a part of a story. This week's post will be chapter one, broken down into three parts. (It's a long chapter.)

I hope you all enjoy the upcoming changes.
Let your imagination soar as you read and write.

So, I wanted to share with you the things I've been up to.

Ramble Day

This week I’ve been working hard on edits on another book. (Not mentioning title yet. Sorry.) I’m trying to get this one tidied up before the middle of October, so that I can start with a clean slate for NaNoWrMo 2017. I’m super excited about that. I’ve not had much time to do lots of free writing lately, because of trying to tie up some other novels that I have ready for revision and edits. Sometimes you have to just bite the bullet and do the parts you aren’t the fondest of. (Not that I mind doing those parts, it’s just not the funniest. In my opinion.) On the good side, this means there will be lots of books for me to finish up over the next year and publish for your enjoyment.

Mythical Creature of the Week: Thriae

Thriae , three Nymphs from Greek Mythology who are prophetic. Descriptions dating all the way back to the 7th century BCE depicts them as having the head and upper body of  woman and the lower body of a bee including the wings. Apparently they lived under the Mount Parnassus and taught the divination to young Apollo.

Ligature

Ligature is magic performed when one ties a string, thread, or cord of one or more knots. This is commonly used for binding spells. In Ancient Greek sorcerers used this method to bind wind to give sailors fair weather.

In Wicca tradition ones being initiated measure themselves with a cord from head to toe, then tie two or three knots to mark their first, second, and third degree of their progress. These knots serve as a magical binding preventing their energy from dispensing.
