Demon of the week: Batibat

Have any of you heard of a female nightmare demon? I hadn’t until I began searching for a demon of the week. The Batibat causes death during sleep. Paints a different picture about needing eight of sleep a night.

Mythical Creature of the Week: Manticore

Manticore, a creature similar to the Egyptian sphinx that comes from the Persian mythical creatures. The manticore has a human head, three rows of sharp teeth, and can have bat-like wings. Of course, there are aspects, but they vary from story to story. One of those aspects mentions it being able to shoot venomous spines that either paralyze or kills. When it attacks it devours its prey, taking everything, even clothes and bones.

Wheel of the Year

Wicca has celebration times like any other religion. That is what I am sharing with you today.

Take a moment and picture an eight-pointed star, like the ones you see on Christmas Trees. Each point of this star represents a holiday. I’m going to name each holiday that labels each start, working from the norther point, clockwise.
Yule
Imbok
Ostara
Beltane
Midsummer
Laughnasadh
Mabon
Samhain
If you liked to see an image you can visit the site I gathered this information from. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheel_of_the_Year

My plan is to take each one of these and dive a little deeper into them over the next eight weeks.

Mythical Creature of the Week: Drac

There are two dragons referred to as Drac. One comes from Catalan and the other one from France.

Catalan states that Drac bears a bull or lion face. This version of Drac is like most dragons, a lizard or serpent style with two legs. Some of the time they have two wings. Catalan dragons are fire breathers and the fire is all-consuming. They also emit a fetid odor that rots away whatever it touches.

Inspirational Quote

The past cannot be changed. The future is yet in your power.
Author Unknown

I chose this fact today, because it is so closely related to the lesson that Ethan, the Pure Wolf of the New Beginning Moon Area learns in Collar of Truth, Human-Skinned Wolves Book 5.

Mythical Creature – Tarsaque

Do you prefer the calm and quit mythical creature or the ones who reek havoc among people? If you prefer the latter then you will love to know more about the Tarsaque.

Tarsaque was a gruesome beast covered with large, iron-like scales with a lion head, six short legs, spikes along his back, and a scorpion’s tail. This describes the Tarasque, who is said to be the child of Leviathan, a sea monster. The Tarsque had the skill of shooting fire and using his whip like, poisonous tail to destroy buildings.

Witch Power

This week I wanted to discuss the power of Blood Boiling. Nicolas, a warlock portrayed in an episode of Charmed, was the only warlock with the power to rise a person’s temperature to a boiling point, rearing them with intense pain and leaving them breathless.

Jersey Devil

Not a hundred percent this is a devil, but the name caught my attention, so since it had the title devil I chose to put it onto today’s post.

The Jersey Devil is a mythical creature, or cryptid that inhabits Pinelands of New Jersey. This creature has been there for over 250 years.

4th of July

Today there is no post about mythical creatures. This post is dedicated to those who risk their lives to give us the freedoms we have. This day of celebration is one that has been made about wonderous shows of fireworks. Time around the pool, drinking, cooking out, and many more ways of honoring the freedoms that some of us forget so often.

That is why I want to take today to thank those who serve our country and defend our rights. To all those around the world and those family members of mine that have devoted their lives to serving our country.

Astrology Signs

Found this photo the other day and thought it was neat. I’d forgotten how much astrology played into the Wicca/Witchcraft world. This little photo reminded me. Not to mention it was neat to find out what type of witch related to each sign.
