There are several other that my source book mentions, but those are the ones that I wanted to share. If you’d like to find out more then pick up the book, Witchcraft Theory and Practice by Ly De Angeles and go to page 72.

Wicca Symbols - Eleven Star

A seven-pointed star, or as the Faerie tradition of Wicca calls it, The Eleven Star, is a reminder that seven is a sacred number in many traditions. This symbol is connected to the seven days of the week, the seen pillars of wisdom, and other magical theories.

Ligature

Ligature is magic performed when one ties a string, thread, or cord of one or more knots. This is commonly used for binding spells. In Ancient Greek sorcerers used this method to bind wind to give sailors fair weather.

In Wicca tradition ones being initiated measure themselves with a cord from head to toe, then tie two or three knots to mark their first, second, and third degree of their progress. These knots serve as a magical binding preventing their energy from dispensing.

Butterflies Attributes

Surprising to me is that Butterflies have so many attributes related to magic. Here is a list of some of those.
-          Reincarnation magic
-          Transformation of personality and life.
-          Understanding where you are in the cycle of life.
Here is the chant that that goes along with the butterflies.
Beautiful creature, wings lit by the Sun,
Help me to know when this life is done
A new life awaits from the Spirits above,
My soul renew through the magick of love.

Goddess Venus

Goddess of love and beauty, God of Venus, have statues across the world and pictures of her appear on greeting card sent by lovers. Venus’ counterpart is Aphrodite, which makes sense, considering she took on her attributes later on. Venus loved God Vulcan.

Wheel of the Year

Wicca has celebration times like any other religion. That is what I am sharing with you today.

Take a moment and picture an eight-pointed star, like the ones you see on Christmas Trees. Each point of this star represents a holiday. I’m going to name each holiday that labels each start, working from the norther point, clockwise.
Yule
Imbok
Ostara
Beltane
Midsummer
Laughnasadh
Mabon
Samhain
If you liked to see an image you can visit the site I gathered this information from. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheel_of_the_Year

My plan is to take each one of these and dive a little deeper into them over the next eight weeks.

Wand

Wands are the most common instrument mentioned in the legends of magical powers. And indeed, it is one of the devices among the toolkit of the ancient and medieval ceremonial magic users. It uses became mere mentions among grimoires. Some of those books even omitted it, but in the nineteenth century the wand became a symbol of a person’s will. Currently a wand is referred to an athame, and is used during ceremonial magic.
