Free Write Scene

Hi all,

I all but forgot to post something today, so I borrowed from a short scene I wrote for a exercise I did for a community post for the definition of the word Foolscap. I don’t think they will mind me borrowing my own work. I hope you all enjoy the short work. It’s not my usual style of writing, but it does give you a brief insight into the style of my side project I’m working on.

Let your imagination soar as you read this short scene.

Have a great day

Julia

Jeffery stared down at the foolscap wondering where the fancy writing was. He'd been told day after day for ten years by his father and grandfather that their family history was written on the ancient sheet of an unusual-sized piece of paper. Only the old ones would write on an 8 X 13 size piece of paper. Quil and ink aspect made sense, how else would they write back when George Washington was President? Guess I was lucky it wasn't on a clay tablet in picture form. Still, there was nothing here, so what was he supposed to do? How was he supposed to learn where he came from since the Orgs took out his entire family before his fifteenth birthday?

"Can I help you with something, young man?"

Jeffery spun to find a crumbled-in on himself, long, white-haired man leaning against a wooden walking stick that stuck a good foot above his head. A voice he'd not heard in over six years came to life in his mind.

"Elder of Summar. Kneel, boy. Now."

He had no idea why his father's voice sprang to life in his mind, but he did just what his father did. Yet, he tucked the foolscap behind his back. Something inside him told him he wasn't supposed to have that sheet of paper.

Story Opening Line

 Hi,

Today I've taken the below photo from https://pixabay.com/photos/fantasy-amazone-light-being-veil-3281710/  and written an opening line of a story based off of it.

Hope you enjoy what I come up with and encourage you to take the time and come up with your own opening line or any line based off the photo below. Would love to see how your imagination soars.

Swirls of bluish lights mingled in among Hera's dull dark, greenish-graying swash of cloth as she balanced herself on the semi-dragon shaped ether she conjured.

Three is my opening line idea. Unsure how well it might fit with what anyone else might see from this photo, but it's what came to my mind. Let me know what you see in the photo. Or your own opening line.

Have a great couple of days.
Julia

Opening Line

This week I’m writing opening lines from photos found on Pinterest. I would love to hear what you would have wrote as an opening line.

Opening Line:

The darkness had consumed her, no way around it, no matter how much royal blood she had, she was now a demon.

Once again Good came against Evil, which will win this hundred year battle.

Inspirational Writing Challenge

Today I’m loading a photo that called to me soon as I spotted it. Mainly because it was an amazing shot of a wave overcasting everything I could imagine being caught  by it. So, that is why I wanted to challenge you to write a scene or an opening line from this photo. Can’t wait to see what you guys come up with.

My thought is an opening line:

It’s going to consume everything when it crashes.

Demon Writing Challenge

This week I’m challenging you to write a scene or an opening sentence based off of the photo below. I hope to read lots of imaginative things from you all. Don’t worry, I’ll be adding my own thoughts below.

My thoughts:

Little red light drew my next victim. I needed one more little girl to complete the ritual that would free me from the confinements of hell for the rest of my life. I had little time left to complete the process, before the demon skeleton hunter reached my hiding place.

Did you know . . .

Did you know that I have a challenge for you this week. LOL.

What I’d like for each of you to do is find one interesting fact or think of a fact that you would like to find in a story, and share it with me. Don’t worry, I’m going to be doing the same.

My thought:

A fact that I’d like to writer about is the seven deadly sins. I’d like to take them and turn them into a story with a deep meaning that comes across in a funny manner.

Mythical Creature Challenge

This week my post will all be geared towards writer’s or anyone with an imagination that they’d like to tap into. What I am doing is challenging you to take a moment to study the image and then writer a small scene, or an opening line, or how the image makes you feel. Catch is that for today your imagination needs to gear you towards the theme of the theme of Mythical Creatures.

My thought:

Was it safe? My mom had told me over and over that the small hut in the center of the forest was home of some kind of creature. Course, the townsmen told me my mom was insane to think that any kind of monster lived anywhere near the town. They’d wipe out a herd of mintours years ago. So there was no way that one lurked in the woods. They knew what would come to them if they took residence near the Town of Havenfield.

Witchcraft Writing Challenge

This week my post will all be geared towards writer’s or anyone with an imagination that they’d like to tap into. What I am doing is challenging you to take a moment to study the image and then writer a small scene, or an opening line, or how the image makes you feel. Catch is that for today your imagination needs to gear you towards the theme of Witchcraft, Witches, Wicca, Casters, or any other word that makes you think along that theme.

My thought:

Rachael intensified her musical call for her coven. Time for them to choose another Coven Leader. It could only be done during the full moon and there was no better than time than when the moon was its brightest.
