Chapter 38

Senile. Out of his mind. Clueless as to how to take what could be a perfect manner of life among the humans. There would always be Vampires who wished to never mingle among humans and vise verse, but no one could please every single person among the world. Either race. Best any leader could do waw what was best for the whole. And answering to a Vampire that was older than the human race . . . wasn’t the answer. He needed to step aside from the Royal Blood Society. Better yet, the Royal Blood Society needed to retire themselves as a group to lead the Vampires if Vampires were going to live among humans. That’s was the whole point of his new plan. Vampire and Human leaders of each sector. One kind of enforcer for each race. Therefore each had their own kind to answer to for their crimes.

“Sire, - -”

“Oh cut that Sire shit out.” Elizebta made her way over to my private stash of human blood and ripped the top of a bag of blood off, sucking it down in a minute, sighing after the last drop had disappeared. “Better. I can not even say it. I am so late arriving because the other Royal Blood Society members met and . . .” She held her hand up to stave out his interruption about being excluded. “We weren’t excluding you. We were debating on your actions. Rather they were warranted or a act of disloyalty.”

Right. He would have wondered the same if one of them had done the same. Wasn’t sure how he would have viewed it if he’d been in their spot. Least they gave him the consideration to send his Sire to tell him the verdict.

“We agree with your actions. We see where you was coming from. I can also see, and so can the others, that Dracula . . . As much as I love the Vampire . . . He is no longer able to . . .” She flopped onto the leather sofa that sat off to the left of my desk. “We each went and visited him and got him to agree to our recommendation that he remain in seclusion. One of us will bring him his blood and anything else he wishes.”

Javis wasn’t sure what or how he ended up on the floor in front of his desk, but he did. Elizebta leapt to her feet and kneeled in front of him before he could take a second forced breath.

“Son, what is . . . Do I need to get . . .”

“No.” Javis laid a hand on his Sire’s face, taking in the bright red eyes. “You’ve been crying, mother.”

“It is not easy to face the fact that at some point and time I might end up like him.” She sat down in front of him. “He made me to end two hundred years of seclusion. Facing his own state of mind has forced me to see what my future . . .”

“Might be, mother.” He ran his hand down her cheek. “Might be. I will not let you follow down the track he went. Never, mother. You have so much to live for. So much to look forward to. I have found my Heart Owner, which means there might be one hidden among the humans out there for you.”

“I am too old to wish for such.” She unfolded her legs like she always found herself sitting crossed legged and resumed her seat on the sofa. “So . . . how did you convince him to allow him to turn you when he was so hell bent on you stealing people’s choices and how in the hell did he get you to take a stance. Am I to assume you have felt this for some time.”

Chapter 37

“Guess these will have to be updated.” She pulled the book that belonged to the sector that my youngest brother Ambrosio operator. “He will be more than pleased with your decision. He has been strife with the Royal Blood Society since we sent you undercover and created this new way of life. He has brought a new pattern of life, his words not mine, seven times in the last four years. Each had thier differences, but all included something similar as to what your . . . Am I too assumed he is your Heart Owner?” She replaced the book and floated back to the floor, facing me. “Guessing that is not the only reason your made such a decision on your own.”

“You are correct on both accounts.” Javis had not been made aware of Ambrosio meetings with the Royal Blood Society. He should have been called if any meetings had taken place. “Why was I not contacted when Ambrosio came to the Royal Blood Society?”

She waved my question aside and slid the glass doors behind my desk open. The cool wind rushed in, washing away some of the disgust at the Royal Blood Society’s lack of contact and her dismissal of his question.

“You know I never let such go to them. He brought them to me directly and I forbade such nonsense going to the rest of us. Dracula had made his plan clear.” She sighed and shook her head. “Guess that fact no longer matters to you. Am I correct?”

“Sire,” Javis rarely used the formal address with her, but he needed her to hear him out. Her to know how important what he had to say was. Needed her to take him serious. Not dismiss him like she had Ambrosio. She rarely did that to him, but there had been times she did when it came down to keeping her Sire happy and content. “If we continue down the path Dracula desires, we will have no humans for the Vampires who wish to feed from them. I am sure you see that.”

She gave a curt nod and closed the doors, leaning her head against the glass. “As clearly as I see out this sparkling glass.” She faced him. “My Sire, is important to me. To our entire race, but he is . . .”

Chapter 36

A faint pitter patter of feet against carpet woke Javis some hours later. No one should have been in the house. Guards were stationed around the house. They would not have let anyone in. Elijah would never arrive in the middle of the night unless the world was under attack. And the guards would have invaded his entire house if that had been the case. Julian never came without an appointment after four in the evening. Alexander . . . he was known for showing up at all hours, but he knew him and Enapay had arranged time together. He had wished him good luck and told him he would contact him in a day or two. So who was . . .

The bedroom door flew open and a huge, femiinna gasp had him jerking the sheet overh him and Enapay.

“Elizebta.” Course she would show up the same night he sealed his Heart Owner to him for life. “Please wait for me in the office.” He spoke low and steady, but failed to keep from waking Enapay. Damn new vampire tender hearing.

“What is . . . Who is . . .” Enapay sat up glaring at Elizebta. “she?”

“Think I should be asking you that. My eldest child has created a new vampire and taken him to his . . .” Elizebta sniffed the air. “Oh . . . Shit.” Her eyes were wide as her mouth hung open. “You have . . . I’ll just go to the office until you . . . I know . . . I’m going, my son.”

“Son?” Enapay slapped his arm. “You were going to let me think she was some piece of . . .”

“You thought . . .” Javis knew his mouth haad to have matched Elizebta’s earlier fish expression. “Oohhh. No. Me and women. Not in over a hundred years.”

“What else was I to think? Some unkonwn woman comes walking into your bedroom in the middle of the night.”

Okay. He might have had a small point, but still . . . we’d just combined our lives together for the rest of our lives. Surely, he would not think a man would do such if he had . . . “You do not think me some kind of . . . man horor do you?”

“No.” Enapay rubbed his face. “Jeaslouy. Not used to it. Wanted to rip her beautiful head off.”

Most believed Elizebta model worthy. And she had done some modeling years ago. She’d kept herself secluded from humans for the last fifty years. She remained close to her Sire. Or as close to him as he allowed. Even he kept himself secluded from vampires. Most believed him a myth used to control them.

“Why is she here?”

“Ugh . . . She’s finially responded to my call.”

“What call?”

“The one I had to place when you made your first press conference.”

“Oh.” Enapay flopped back down beside him. “What is going to happen to me for doing that?”

“Nothing.” His decisio to change the way the world was being ran . . . That could get him into major boiling water.

“Then why do I feel as if you are nervous.” Enapay prompped himself up on one elbow. “What have you done that you should not have?”

“What makes you think that?”

“Why else would you . . . Should you not have made me yours?”

“No, not that at all, baby.”

“Then what.”

“I had orders. Remember.”

“Oh . . . You went against them when . . .”

“That I did.”

“What will they do?”

He wasn’t sure, but he might as well go find out.

“You stay here and rest. I’m going to go and speak with Elizebta.”

“I’m coming with you. Your choice to change things was my fault.”

“Admirable.” He brushed a strain of hair off Enapay’s forehead. “But . . . I had never agreed with how they wished to take the world. Just never had the guts to stand up to the Royal Blood Society.”

Javis took in a deep breath before her leaned over and kissed Enapay and climbed out of bed. He slid into his jeans and made the short trek to his office. Elizebta floated in the air, running her finger across the books on the top shelf to the right of his desk. The books that held each pertinent fact about each sector among the United States and the rules and regulations among the other sections around the world.

Chapter 35

Javis gripped Enapay’s legs and lifted them over his shoulders, lining his cock up and biting his lower lip forced himself to ease himself into his Heart Owner. Inch by wonderful inch, heat enclosed his throbbing cock. Enapay’s groans and pleas encouraged him to thrust fast and harder, but Javis wanted to prologue his first time with Enapay. Make him feel every inch of his man. Let him know that he lived for the tender moments as much as he would those hard and fast moments they’d shared at some point. And they’d have plenty of them. Was no way around it. Vampires love fast and hard love making, specially when they fed from each other.

“Please . . . Javis . . . More . . . Now. Faster, please, honey.”

Javis leaned down and claimed his lips, shoving his tongue in, rough and fast, tasting him as he took slow and soft nips of his tongue. He’d bite hard enough to draw some blood, letting him taste it before he sealed the small pinprick he’d created.

Once he had himself fully seated inside Enapay, he began a slow thrust until he drove them both up the wall. Until both of them were to the brink of collapsing over the edge of lust. Felt as if his entire body was swelled with his pending explosion when he threw his head back and placed his neck right over Enapay’s mouth.

“Feed, my dear.”

Sharp, untrained, wobbling fangs pierced his neck and a rough draw of blood flowed from him as he exploded deep inside his Heart Owner. Euphoria like none other washed over him. Javis had lived a long time. Had many, many times to feel happiness, but none compared to that moment. Warmth and peacefulness soared throughout him as he insured his newly turned Heart Owner had what he needed to sustain himself. As if that wasn’t enough, his Heart Owner’s pleasure filled released splashed over his chest, marking him so no one would ever miss his scent again.

A loud sucking filled the silence that had claimed the room as Enapay extracted his fangs and flopped backwards.

“Oh man, Javis.”

Blood trickled down his throat where his Heart Owner forgot to seal the holes. He ran his tongue over his finger and then across the holes, sealing them himself before he slipped free of Enapay’s ass, sliding to his side, taking him in his arms.

“Amazing. Perfect gift you gave me.”

And it was. Something no one else would ever be able to give him.

“Think that goes. both ways.” Enapay snuggled deeper against him and let his head rest in the crook of his neck. “Need to sleep now.”

“You do that.”

Chapter 34

Enapay’s body went limp in his arms as the least bit of his human blood seeped through Javis’ Turning Fangs. He retracted them and then tore a huge chunk of his flesh from his wrist, placing it over Enapay’s mouth. He used his free hand to pry his Heart Owner mouth open and let the blood gush into his mouth. It would take several moments for it to work its way down his throat since his body was lifeless. Once it seeped through the esophagus and began to flow into the stomach the change from human to vampire would begin. His heart would start to beat first. Slow then fast and faster until it bit up a fast and steady beat like all Vampires. By the time it reached that point, Enpay’s entire Vampire body would be functioning. His muscles stretching and retracting. Colors would be brighter, darker, more intense, more in-depth than he’d ever seen. Hearing stronger than ever before. Smelling more than one could every wish to. Feeling the tiniest part of life and death. The stuff that no human could ever dream of feeling. What would override everything in him would be his thirst and as soon as he caught whiff of the rich, sweet hint of blood . . . He would not be sated until he fed.

Javis would give him some of the human blood he drank daily. It would take that at first. About ten bags of blood to sate the initial hunger that each new Vampire carried. After that . . . Enapy could try the animal blood and see which he preferred. It was law that all Vampires drank the animal blood unless they had a human who willingly volunteered theirs. Him being the Heart Owner of the Commander and Chief meant he’d have to appear to drink the animal blood, like Javis did. Javis drank from blood bags that came from the blood bank him and Alexander owned.

Enapay gasped and his eyes flew open as his Vampiric fangs slid down, covering his lower lip. Nice and long set of fangs. Unexpected. Most of those he turned had thin and short fangs. Enapay’s where . . . long and wide. Took on the appearance of those that most of those sired from those closest to the Royal Blood Society had. It was an honor for him to be graced with them. Could have been because he was the Heart Owner to one of the Royal Blood Society, or simply the fact that he belonged to one so old and connected so close to the eldest Vampire.

“Need, baby.”

Enapay grasped Javis’ cock and began stroking it. The entire process of changing him had awoken his desire, but the release had taken the edge off like he’d hope, which meant he could make love to his Heart Owner. Finally.

Chapter 33

Fuck. Javis mind swirled as his tongue made circles around Enapay’s bare tilted neck. Upon first sight of the man had been beautiful, but his words hurtful, but truthful. First whiff of him . . . He knew then and there that his entire life had changed. Feared it would be the downfall of his entire world. Never once did he dream that he’d be about to claim the man as his Heart Owner for all to see.

Sweet, salty sweat greeted Javis’ tastebuds with each swipe, enticing his fangs further and further out until they scraped across Enapay’s skin. Not one bit of skin tore from the soft tender touch, but the ear shattering moan Enapay released had his cock jerking so hard the zipper of his pants split.

“Fuck.”

Enapay’s hands found the button on his jeans, unsnapping them as he pushed them down and over my hips. “Better?”

Javis lifted his head, just far enough he could lock eyes with Enapay for a split second, loving the lust he found in those half closed lids. He gave him a smile and then bared his fangs as he dove forwards, spearing the virgin skin of his neck.

Hot, sweet, spicy and tangy ambrosia, that only belonged to his Heart Owner, trickled through the small pinholes at the back of his fangs. The ambrosia zoomed through his entire body, causing his entire body to jerk as his natural side took control. His dire need to hold all of his Heart Owner took over. His jaws collapsed inward as he sucked faster and harder, drawing more and more of his blood from his body. Enapay’s body thrust forward, slamming his cock against Javis’ stomach and the bottom of his balls brushed over the tip of Javis’ cock. Just the right amount of pressure that he needed. Or the amount mixed with the hot rush of his Heart Owner’s blood heating his entire body created such a rush that his orgasms rushed through him and out of him so fast that when he jerked his fangs free from Enapay’s neck and threw his head back, hissing towards the white, popcorn ceiling he forgot to seal the two holes. Not an unusual effect for a Vampire in the throe of claiming their Heart Owner.

“Javis . . . Please . . . Do it now.”

“Enapay Chavos . . . Do you wish to join me as my Heart Owner for the rest of your life?”

“Yes, Commander and Chief Javis Anderson the Fourth. I am your Heart Owner and wish to join my life and death with you.”

Javis’ all but paused before he swiped his tongue across the two small holes across the fang holes. He’d not expected Enapay to say the sacred and ancient wording that Heart Owner of the old used. Those were words Javis had not heard since . . .

Alexander.

“Did I get something wrong?”

“Not at all. It was perfect, baby. Perfection.” Javis dropped his second set of fangs and drove forward, striking hard and fast.

He cursed when Enapay grunted and stiffened under him. Javis knew the Turning Fangs hurt, but it was the only way a Vampire could turn another one. Normally, the change took place upon a last breath or when the person is doped up. But when a Heart Owner is claimed and changed in the same time . . . Or it the old manner, and it appeared that was what Enapay had planned to give him, so that was how Javis went about it.

Chapter 30 Part 2

“Don’t want us to stop.”

Good. Javis wasn’t sure he could. His entire body blazed with desire. Raged with determination to seal the two of them together for . . .

“Fuck.” He forced himself to pull away from Enapay.

“What is it?”

“If we do this . . .” he rested his forehead against Enapay’s hoping he did not screw up what he was about to say. It was . . . Important seemed lame to apply to such a magnitude of the moment ahead of him.

“I know what it means if we . . .”

“You . . . Your friend told you?” Shit. His friend should not have done so. That was one part of the Heart Owner aspect that humans weren’t supposed to know until they were paired with a Vampire.

“No.” Enapay shook his head. “I’m not stupid though. Sex is . . . When anyone gives themselves to another . . . Sex is supposed to be . . . To me . . . My dad told me that . . . It’s an old fashion thought, but I took what my dad told me when we had the birds and bees talk to heart. He told me that he had not waited for his true love, but his true love had waited for him and he felt like he cheated her of something so special. She had given him the most precious moment in her life, but he had failed to reciprocate. Guess you’d say . . . was a proper method to keep my cock planted in my pants during high school and until I realized that I preferred the cock.” Loved the way his skinned reddened and his thick eyelashes fluttered as they closed. “Even then . . . Sort of . . . Kept my sexual interaction to a minium.”

“Mmmm . . .” I kissed his forehead and waited until his eyelids lifted and his eyes drifted upwards. “I find that . . . sexy as hell.”

“Good then . . . Take me at the fact that I go into this with the understanding that us taking this step will seal us together.”

“But do you get that it is in a much deeper and a more permanent manner for me.”

Wasn’t for him. He could leave at any moment, but Javis wasn’t going to keep the effect a Heart Owner had on him from Enapay. Or not all of it at least. The hardest part that connected them to one another and sealed them together had already been put into play, but them coming together sexually . . . Sealed his fate even tighter to him. Made it harder for Javis to come back from loosing him. It’s why it had taken so long for him to pull Alexander back. from the brink of madness. And Javis’ age would make it ten times harder for him to avoid such a madness with just the Face-to-Face connection the two of them had. Add in the sexual completion . . . He might never be brought back. Not even from Dracula.

“I am never going to leave you, Javis. I promise you that.”

“Don’t make promises you can’t ensure. Life for humans are . . .” Fragile.

Enapay jerked back , shoving him back into the plush leather movie theater seat. “Are you refusing to turn me?”

Chapter 27

Late sun evening rays trickled over Enapay as he stood staring out over the front yard. His thick chest muscles were accentuated by the soft baby blue polo shirt he wore. The dark gray slacks gave a great view of what Javis was sure was a tight, firm ass. What’d he do to be able to pick him up by it and have those legs wrap around his waist as he held him against a wall.

Fuck. The Heart Owner pull was rushing upon him. It would only get worse the longer he was near him. As the night went on his urge to take and claim him would grow more intense. It would become all but overwhelming. Alexander had warned him that having a date with him would be challenging, but he said it was doable. That he just had to keep his mind on the main focus of the evening. Getting to know Enapay. Letting him get to know him. Them getting on the same page.

“You look amazing, Commander and Chief.”

“Please, Javis. Afterall, you are . . .” Shit. He could not blurt out what he was to him. The World knew what Heart Owners were and the importance of them to a Vampire, but Javis had not told Enpay their indepth connection. He wanted the man to see him as a decent being before he discovered they were tied together for life.

“I am what . . .” Enapay strolled over to him and laid a hand on his chest, “were you going to say Heart Owner?”

“Huh.”

“My friend was right, wasn’t he. You and I are . . . Fated. Bound. Whatever you want to call it.” His hand crept up his chest and around his neck. “Did you think you could keep something like this from me?”

What was he supposed to say? He had hoped to, for a bit of time. “Not for long.”

“Why at all?”

“You heard your speeches, right?”

“Okay. Okay. Good point, but after our last talk . . . why not tell me then. Why not tell the world you found your Heart Owner. My friend’s Heart Owner was shouting it to anyone who passed by him the moment he found Jason.”

“You do know who I am, right?”

“Right. Commander and Chief. Life isn’t private at all. Can see you might want some part private and my stance towards you might have . . . most likely did . . . okay, did cause you some trouble. Is our connection the only reason you chose to change your stance on . . .”

“No. Not at all. You were right in your assessment.”

“Then why take a forward step now.”

“You.”

“Me?”

“You give me reason . . . me the courage to stand up and face those who should have known better than what they have done. You gave me the courage to stand up and do what I wished to do all along.” Javis tilted his head down, resting his forehead against his. “Are you seriously not upset over us being Heart Owners?”

Chapter 26

Javis decided that the small eat-in dining area of the kitchen would be best for his and Enapay’s small intimate dinner. He had his chef cook up some grilled honey glazed salmon and aspargas with a nice crisp, fresh garden salad and some homemade yeast rolls. He hoped Enapay loved it. The house smelled amazing to him, even though food no longer appealed to him. Felt more like a mudane task. One that took away time he needed devoted to more important task.

“Sir,” Cheft sat down a second set of plates and silverware, “if I may interject, Sir Alexander said to remind you that this time, eating is the important task.”

Huh? What did he mean by that?

“You look confuse, Sir?’

“Am a bit.”

“This is supposed to be a date, right?”

“Yes.”

“Then a date with a meal, means eating. That would be the task, Sir Alexander refers to.”

Right. Had to eat to be mingling with his Heart Owner. Leave it to Alexander to know he’d need reminding of his task. “Thanks, Chef. I assume Sir Alexander told you to make enough food for two.”

“Course he did, Sir.”

“Thanks again, Chef.”

“No problem, Sir. We are here to make your life easier.”

Most of the time they did that. Most of them. Some of them drove him up the wall, like Julian had earlier. On his drive back from the interview all Julian had done was drone on and on about how his interview had left so many holes for other press members to tear him down. Create more fires for him to put out. Javis hadn’t really cared how much harder it made his life, and he ended up telling him that, which made the man turn to face the window with crossed arms as he stuck his lower lip out at the cars that passed them by. Childish. How had he never seen how much like a young adult Julian acted? Soon as they arrived home, he ordered Julian to leave and not return until tomorrow. That hadn’t gone over well either. Took Javis calling in Mateo to get him to leave. He’d probably hear all about how foolish he’d been when Julian returned, but. tonight was too damn important for him to fool with that man.

“Speaking of making my life easier,” Javis patted Chef on his shoulder, grinning when the man winked at him. “Were we able to get the caramel corn that I discovered Enapay loved?”

“We were, Sir. It’s being fixed as we speak and will be put in the media room while you two eat supper. Will make a nice surprise for him, Sir.”

“I hope so. Thought it would be much better than chocolate.”

The chef tilted his head and tapped his chin.

“You don’t think so.”

“Not sure if anything is better than that wondrous, glorious creamy, milky, smoothy goodness. Especially, if it’s licked off my Johnathan’s. chest.”

“Ooo, no. Not a picture I want to see, but I can see why such a task might be appealing between to Heart Owners.” And he could. Javis would give anything to feel Enapay’s tongue teasing the skin over his chest and his teeth scraping his nipples. “Shit. Did you have to put such a picture in my mind?”

“Do I need to send the runner out to buy some chocolate?”

“No. I actually decided to buy him some as well.”

“Smart, Sir. Smart indeed. Covering all bases. He will have a magical night for sure.”

“Commander and Chief,” Mateo’s voice flowed from the other side of the kitchen. “Your guest is awaiting you in the living room.”

“Time to find out how much he loves the night I have planned.”

He gave the chef one last nod of approval and then made his way toward the small box of chocolate caramels he’d picked up on the way home.

Chapter 25

“Commander and Chief, how are you doing today, Sir?”

“Let’s cut to the chase. I know you, as well as the world wants to know my reaction to what Mr. Chavos’ time at the house with me.”

“You were always a cut to the chase kind of leader. It’s what drew so many people to you during your campaigns. It’s also what might have had many people overlooking some of your more . . . misguided points. Those that Mr. Chavos pointed out in his previous speeches. Those that he knows states you have set him at ease about. Just how did you manage to do that, Sir?”

“I believe that what Mr. Chavos said earlier stated his reasons for his change of mind, but as I was able to change his perspective about me, he has done the same for me.”

“What does that mean, Commander and Chief?”

“It means that as of the start of next week, the law requiring every human to have a Sire among their death will be voided. It will become a choice. An arrangement between a human and a vampire. Also, each sector will have a Vampire and a human leader to work alongside each other.”

He could hear the cameramen gasping and other behind the scene people murmuring in confusion. Javis just hoped that his Sire and Dracula was still deep in the earth and out of touch. If not . . . all he’d planned would be blown out of the water before it even began.

“Sir, are you now saying that you admit to what Mr. Chavos accused you of?”

“No. Not by any means. But like him, during my time with him, I listened to his opinions and thoughts on what I had done. How things could have been handled in different approaches. Like he changed his thoughts about my actions, I found his suggestions as important and logical. In fact . . . some of what he suggest held a more reliable method for both races to mingle among one another. If I had taken a poll among the humans as well as Vampires, I might have gotten the same suggestions he gave me during our time together. I do not admit to handling things wrong, but like anything, there might have been a better approach to have taken. That being said . . . I can rectify that. Which is what I aim to do by making these changes. And I will be taking some polls on how society as a whole would like their new society to be handled.”

The broadcaster’s eyes were wide, but he nodded his head the entire time Javis spoke. The murmurs from the bystanders had only increased and were becoming clearer. Somewhere agreeing with his rectifying actions, others were questioning his actions and reasoning behind it. He was sure some humans might even wonder if Mr. Chavos had blackmailed him or brainwashed him. All those thoughts would be put to ease when the world saw the truth behind their relationship, but until then he’d have to filed those negative ones.

“Well . . . I have to say, this is sudden. Unexpected, but for some will be a welcomed change. I look forward to see how the world takes to this change, Sir.” The broadcaster looked directly into the camera and signed off.

Javis held his hand out to the broadcaster and thanked him. Next step was to get. back to Enapay and make sure they had a true fire relationship that lasted a long time.

Chapter 24 part 2

“No.”

Alexander snorted, spewing blood all over himself. “Sorry.” He wiped his hand across his face as he got up and headed into the bathroom that sat off of the office.

“What was so funny about my question?”

“You do not get to go over what I am going to say, because you demand to.”

“I am your publicist. It is my place to make sure you do not screw up your image. And you are walking a tightrope in doing an interview right after this guy just caved and reversed his initial charges against you.”

Freaking idiot. Was he ever going to learn that he did as the Commander and Chief said, not the other way around. Or he did when it came right down to it. Javis Anderson the fourth answered to only two people. His Sire and Dracula. And at that moment . . . only himself because both of them were MIA in his life, leaving him to deal with his own life. Thankfully for a change. Felt amazing. Might not after they came back into his life, but he’d deal with that when it came to life.

“First,” Javis stood and pressed in on Julian, forcing him to step back. “You do as I saw. Not the other way around. And if I say no to something then that is the end of it. And what I say regarding my interview this time, and any other time, is up to me. Not you. Never has been. I’ve let you take the lead in the past to take stress off of me, but this time . . . I will take the lead. This is more important than anything every before. Are we clear on your status among my entourage?”

Julian hunched in on himself as he pressed himself into the wall. Javis hadn’t meant to become so aggressive with him, but if it got his point across then . . .

“Javis,” Alexander rested his hand on his shoulder, “calm down, bro. He’s got the point. I’m sure of it.”

“I do, Sir, Commadner and Chief. I’m sorry, Commadner and Chief. Meant no disrespect.”

“Sit down and hush up while I think on my speech.”

He walked back over to the desk and sat down in his ergonomics desk chair, leaning back in it, staring up at the little circle that had formed over his head at some point in his many years in the house. He could have painted over it a few years ago when he remodeled the office, but he told the decorated that he wanted that area left alone. Many, many hours had been spent studying it when he found himself stuck on a subject. Something about it opened his mind. Gave him a way to broaden him mind on the issue at hand.

“Oh God, you do not have a speech ready.” Julian muttered as he flopped into a chair. “This is awful. So awful. Please, let me help, Sir.”

“Hush, Julian.” Alexander snapped his finger. “Leave him be. He will be fine.”

And he would. Javis had the entire image coming to life in his mind. Before he knew it, it would all play out in front of him. Just like he needed it. And his Heart Owner would have a better grasp of who he was. What he was willing to do for him.

His plan would work all the way around.

Chapter 15

Javis wasn’t sure how to react when Enapay’s hands flew over his mouth and sadness rushed across his eyes. Alexandar spoke the truth, but it had been like a stake to the heart to Enapay.

Enapay cleared his throat a couple of times and. then gave a nod. “That might be my case, but there are many out there who plan out wish to leave this world and go to the next to be with their savor. You prevent them from doing so. Is that fair? No. You are stealing their choice.”

A fact that he’d expected many Christians to bring to him when he issued the law, but none had. Shocked him. Shocked all of his political staff, but life went the way it was supposed to.

“What do you suggest he do about this?”

“Put things back the way it was.”

“Reasonable suggestion.” Alexander replied.

“Does he have a reason for his actions? If so . . . Explain them to everyone. Unearth the lies he has told.”

Seemed logical to Javis, but not something he could do. Not to everyone. He could tell them to his Heart Owner if he chose him, but as it was then . . . Enapay would never choose him. He hated him. Everything about him.

Would the man every come to an amendable agreement with him. Wasn’t enough to become his Heart Owner, but it might be enough for him to lay off of him about being someone who did nothing but stole choices. Then again . . .

“Time changes everything.” He muttered at vampire hearing level.

Alexander turned to face him, quirking an eyebrow. Javis had no way to explain his plan to his best friend, but he knew . . . Okay, Alexander would agree with it, but Dracula would skin him alive for going off script. But, he had not contacted him since Enapay made his first speech and things had to be addressed. Had to be handled before their entire plan went awry. Meant he had to step up to the plate and do so or what he worked for the last fifteen years would fall to pieces. That would not happen on his watch. He might disagree with how Dracula handled most of what went down since he had him take over, but he loved being the Commander and Chief. Over all he did.

“I think,” he interjected himself into the fry of things before giving Alexander or Mateo a sign he would. “a sit down between us would be nice, but as you can expect,” he spread his hands wide open, “that until things between us are more amendable they must be handled in such a manner. But, they can be just between me and you.”

Enapay titled his head to the side twice then gave a curt nod. “Will I be held behind bar until I agree to your way of thinking?”

Alexander reached out and hit the mute button. “He will leave as soon as you let him outside these walls.”

“I don’t think he will.”

“You are running a huge risk with your Heart Owner if you let him leave these walls.”

“Then we don’t let him leave the walls.”

“You can’t have him running around this area free either. What if he takes you out?”

“What if he gets to know the real me?” Sounded like the perfect plan to him. Gave Enapay to see him in action. Sort of. he’d be kept from seeing him in the midst of any day-to-day activity. That was kept behind closed doors and windows. All major events were held off grounds. His downtime would be privy to Enapay and he’d see that he was just like anyone else. Typical person.

He reached out and unmuted the conference call. “You will be given free run of the grounds, excluding all closed doors. If you are caught behind one then . . .”

He held his hands up. “Got it. Locked away for the rest of my life.”

“Mateo will sort you out.”

“Sir?”

“You heard me, Mateo.”

“Yes, Sir, then may I have a word with you?”

“Course so. Come find me and Alexander in my office afterwards.”

Chapter 14

Conference interrogation? Interesting concept. Would work. Heart Owners only became an issue when they resided in the same room as one another. Hearing the, not an issue. Seeing them through a glass window, or computer screen, not an issue.

“It will work.” Alexander and him said at the same time.

“Then go into the other room and get your tablet setup. I’ll get mine set up and you two can watch and participate.”

“We are not interrogating him.” They weren’t. If they were before his arrival, they weren’t any longer. Enapay Chavos was his Heart Owner. Changed everything. Or it would once he got him to shift his perspective on him.

Alexander took him by the arm and led him over to the door that held a two-way mirror into the room that held Enapay. What was he about to do? Watch in on his Heart Owner? Question him like some two-bit criminal? Treat him like one? Wrong on so many levels, yet he had no other choice. The man believed him to be a liar. Sort of was, but Javis needed him to vocalize different. Go back on what he’d stated earlier. Or change his tune. He’d have too if they were going to be a couple. And that unsure status is why he was not entering that room with him. Until he knew how hardcore Enapay Chavos beliefs about him were . . . the two of them could not be in the same room.

“Commander and Chief, are you there?”

“Yes, Mateo.”

“Good. For the record, Enapay Chavos has agreed to speak with the Commander and Chief Javis Anderson the 4th, Mateo Sanchez and Alexander William. It is an informal discussion about his concerns about the laws the Commander and Chief has put into place since taking office.”

“More like the way he has stolen our choices.”

Hatred seeped through Enapay’s voice as the words flowed from him. Clearly it was going to take some major discussion to get him to change his mind about him. Yes the man had reason to despise the laws. His family had failed to benefit from them, but that was not Javis’ fault. He could not changed the fact that his family died in a house fire while he was safe somewhere else. Shitty luck was what it was.

“Why do you view them as stolen choices?” Alexander leaned back in his chair.

“It should be each person’s decision if they go into the next phase of their afterlife, not his. His way prevents us from taking the next logical step.”

“In other words . . .” Alexander was going to nail home the one fact that people without research would not know about him. “You wish to follow your family and. can not do so if you die any other way than the way they did.”

Chapter 13

“We did.” Javis flopped into the closest metal chair. “Problem arose.”

“Major one.” Alexander leapt onto the top of the table.

“Fill me in.”

Javis shared a glance with Alexander before he gave a tilt of his head. “I’m sure you heard about Heart Owners.”

“Yeah . . . they are like soul mates to your kind. Right?”

“More than that. They can destroy our lives if things go awry.”

“What do you mean?” Mateo propped himself agains the back of the door. “And what does this have to do with us speaking to Chavos?”

“Let’s just say that if Mr. Chavos hatred his rejecting your Commander and Chief then he will no longer be your Commander and Chief. Or be able to be one in a month or two.”

Mateo’s mouth dropped open and he looked over his shoulder, groaning. “You are saying . . . Are you sure? How can you tell?”

“There are signs when we run across the one that completes our heart and he owns mine.”

“Maybe you are wrong. Possible right? You never went inside the room.”

“What I said, but it does not take them being in person. It is best if they don’t see each other face-to-face. He can avoid having his life destroyed as long as they don’t.”

Mateo stared at Alexander for several moments as Javis sat there debating what path he had to take. He’d have to reach out to his Mother. Again. She’d be thrilled he found his Heart Owner. Pissed that it was someone who despised Vampires. Hell bent on her son avoiding him at all cost since there was no sure fire proof that he would not kick him to the curb. Dracula would agree with her, because he had him set on a laid out plan. Far as Dracula was concerned nothing could detour Javis from completing his assignment. Even Alexander had stopped him from going into the room with his Heart Owner. He had not asked him what he desired. He’d just dragged him away from him.

“Why did you stop me?”

Kind of rude for me to interrupt Alexander explaining the full concept and details of a Heart Owner to Mateo, but . . .

“I do not wish your life to be destroyed.”

“How do we know he will do so?”

“We don’t, but it is best to have a plan than charge in there and risk your entire life. Mine is hard enough. I do not wish that on anyone.”

Javis knew Alexander’s life had been horrific since his Heart Owner died. Least he had not lost his life in any concept with the death of his. Just intense heart ache and hardship in continuing his life on his own. Hard enough situation. Guess he would know a bit of what lay ahead of him if anyone did. Not the full extent, but a tiny amount would be more than enough to stop a friend from suffering even that. Right?

“You did not stop me because you want me to continue with my path of life?” Javis knew Alexander would get what he meant.

“No. I want you to think what lays ahead of you. The risk. The benefits. What is the best method to approach him. Is there any other options to speak with him without being in the same room until he has a better emotional stance about Vampires. One that is not so deadly to my best friend.”

“Do you think we can change his mind?”

“If anyone can . . . You can.” Alexander nudged my hip with his foot. “You are the best at convincing people to see the best of anyone. You have talked me from the ledge many times over these long years. If you can do that then . . . should be a piece of cake to convince the one who is going to have a natural attraction to you to shift his stance about Vampires.”

Alexander had a point. Javis’ skill of persuasion is what had earned him many votes when he was down in points during the race for Presidency. It hadn’t been easy, but he’d done it. On his own. He’d refused to let anyone else aid him. Not even Julian or Elijah and his crew of political sidekicks.

“Sir,” Mateo crossed his arms, “what does face-to-face consist of?”

“What do you mean?” Alexander answered before Javis could.

“Does it mean in the same room only, or would a teleconference be considered face-to-face as well?”

Chapter 12

“Give us a moment.” Javis pointed down the hallway, knowing Mateo would not be able to hear his and Alexander’s vampiric level conversation from the other end.

Alexander watched Mateo as he made his way down the hall. “He’s a hell of a guy. Where did you - -”

“Enapay is my Heart Owner.”

“- - find him? What the . . .” Alexander whipped his head towards him with eyes as wide as Javis had ever saw before. “You are kidding me, right?”

Javis wished he was. The man who openly despised him and his the tasked that had been set to him years ago was the one that owned the second half of his heart. How was he supposed to handle that?

“You have to be mistaken. What made you think this?”

“Your own words. ‘cock thickened so fast and hard I all but doubled over’.”

“There is more to it than that?” Alexander side-eyed the door. “When have you been inside? I’ve been on the other side of the window the whole time.”

“Reaction came from this side of the door.”

“You smell him as well?”

“Boy do I? Taking all I can do to stand here and talk to you when I want to rush into that room and throw him up against the wall and drive my cock into him.”

Understatement. Oh, He wanted to do that to his Heart Owner, but more than that he longed to bite deep into the hallow of his neck, leaving behind a mark that only he could leave on him.

“We have to get you away from here.” Alexander grabbed his arm and began dragging him away from the interrogation rooms.

“Hey! What is going on?” Mateo shouted as he rushed up the hallway.

“He can’t do this right now. Come with us.” Alexander kept forcing him away from his Heart Owner.

His mind screamed to shove Alexander out of his way and run back to the room and throw open the door, shouting that he belonged to him, yet his mind knew that would be the death of him. A vampire could survive a death of a Heart Owner, hard as it was and in a half-life state, but to have met your Heart Owner and never complete the bond with him or her is like . . . pure death. Life becomes one of a recluse who waste away and succumbs to the darkness of life. Javis could avoid that as long as he did not come face-to-face with Enapay Chavos. And he had to avoid that until he had a way to convince him that Vampires weren’t monsters and that the two of them could have a solid, happy life as one. Or until he was able to release him.

“We have to figure out what you are going to do before you enter that room.” Alexander sighed. “Your entire worlds depends on it.”

Boy did he, but Javis wasn’t. sure how anyone could convince a true believer to shift their way of thinking. Enapay had done made two big, national. broadcasted speeches about his feelings, changing them would show a man who did a three-sixty out of the blue. It would defame him as a decent human being. Wasn’t something Javis wished on him. He did not want his Heart Owner to come out of the situation looking like a horrible, twisted man. Or for people to think he was paid off. Or that Javis and his people paid people off.

“We can’t make him look bad.”

“We will work this out. First we have to figure out how to get you two to talk without being in the same room.” Alexander opened the door at the other end of the hallway.

“What is going on?” Mateo shut the door as he walked in. “Thought we wanted to get him here.”

Elijah had been right. Engrossing himself in work had done the job. Days passed and before he knew it Elijah had told him Mateo needed his time. Had been at the most inopportune time, because some of the Sectors Vampires where there for visits and needed smozzing and settling down. Their tempers were flaring over Enapay stirring up the humans under their thumbs. Their description had stirred up his own anger and had him levitating over them until they backed down. Over the years since the Sector Vampires had taken over he had never thought any of them viewed humans as people for them to control. That was not how he ever dreamed of anyone being treated. If that was how the Sector Vampires made the humans feel then there was no wonder Enapay spoke so harshly about him and his race.

“Uh oh.” Mateo frowned over at Elijah. “What has him with his mid-red glaring eyes.”

Were they? He turned his head towards the mirror he kept hanging over the fireplace in his office. His eyes looked normal to him. Little more intense maybe, but . . .

“Rough meeting before you arrived.” Elijah sat his computer up on the table and then grabbed his tablet from the side table. “Ready when you are, Javis.”

From the multiple stacks of papers that Mateo laid across the table, Javis wasn’t sure if he was ready for what rested ahead of him. Enapay either had a complicated past or someone in his family did. Either case, Mateo had some major dirt on him or someone for him to use to get to him. Either case . . . Javis would be manipulating Enapay into leaving his ideals to himself for the safety of his own self or someone he cared for.

Sickening. Despicable. Disgraceful. Not him. Tactics he despised. It was one thing to go after someone who was a horrible, lousy being to begin with. Or someone who would use his own family to gain the upper hand. Even then, Javis would not go after some innocent person in his or her life. That was below low and . . . Tore him in half each time he’d had to do so. And there was something about . . . Javis hadn’t even seen what Mateo had discovered on Enapay, but his insides quaked at the mere thought of seing the deep personal side of the man. Felt like an invasion into . . .

Stupid. Javis had never met the man. Never even heard him speak in person, but something about him had grabbed ahold of his heart and wrapped it around him. Not that Javis could allow himself to pay attention to that. He had a job to do and that was all that mattered. He had orders. The Royal Blood Society leader had not gotten back to him about how to handle Enapay, which meant he had not direct direction to go. He had to play things by ear. Get all information and see what came to his mind at that point. Play it by ear. See how he would handle things himself without any orders given. Be a different approach, but one he would welcome.

“What do you have?” Javis slid into the seat in front of his computer.

“Not as much as it looks like.” Mateo pulled a chair out and turned it around backwards. “He has no family. Few friends. None close enough that I think we could use against him, but then I think we could use a complete stranger against him.”

Other words, Enapay had a heart of gold when it came to anyone. He despised anyone being harmed and would rescue anyone if he could. Damn. Good and bad.

“He recycles like crazy. He drives an electric car once or twice a week. Rest of the time he rides a bike or walks everywhere he goes. Eats mainly from his own garden and buys from the farmers market the fish market the rest of the time.”

Do-gooder all the way around. What of that could be used against Enapay? None. Sounded like a solid human. being who deserved a gold medal for living the best life a person could. Better one than most did. One that would give him a long life, which was good for him. Gave him more time to come to terms with him having to choose a Vampire to Sire him.

If he ever could? Doubted that would be possible. Enapay was deadset on getting him out of the office and returning . . . What did he wish to do if he got me out of the office?

“You found something. What?”

“When he passed the Bar, his first big time client with Lawson and Lawson Law firm was Mr. TNT.”

Crap. How did someone with such a clean lifestyle end up with someone with the likes of Timmothy Nathan Tanker. Bad news followed that fool wherever he went. And what did he have to do with Enapay.

“Is he mixed with Enapay and these speeches?”

Alexander left wihtout a task, but gave him lots to think about. Like he didn’t alreayd have enough. He’d known there were so many other paths he would have taken the world if he’d been given the opportunity. There would never have been an issue of humans having to choose a vampire to turn them upon their deaths. They could have had that option, but it would never had been forced upon them. He would not have eradicated the states, cities, and towns. He would have left all the political structure the same, just made it so that there was a human and Vampire leader in each position, making it so that each had a voice in what was taking place. they would have had to work as a team to make changes.

“Javis,” Elijah picked up the remote and pointed it towards the television that sat in the alcove of his office. “He’s at it again.”

Great. Not even a complete day had passed since he made a speech and he was alreayd making another one.

“Twenty deaths stolen every five mintues. What does this mean for their soul? I do not know. That is a personal view. That there is my entire point., these twenty people either chose to ignore the law of contractual death or wished to die like all people are supposed to. Just like people who we vote into congress were supposed to have a legal brithcertificate. Jarvis Anderson the 4th falsified his , becaue when he was born such did not exist. This alone should null and void all his actions among the world, but he snuck in like the monster he is and rewrote the law so he had toatl control. He does not deserve anyone to offer up their last breath to him or one of the monsrers like him. He derseves . . . I am unsure, but his kind has no right to lease us. Take back what is and has always been ours.”

Man had the balls the size of a thousand year old tree in the middle of the oldest forest. Had to give him that. He also knew his facts.

“Are those facts correct?” Elijah groaned and shook his head. “I mean, I know you do not steal our souls, but are there that many who refuse to accept you or one of your people as their Sire each minute.”

“Not sure the actual numbers, but there are quite a few who still refuse to enter into a contractual death.

“How many people die every minute. On average. Do you know?”

“Never want to.” Guess he’d have to figure out that fact and find out just how much of a major issue twenty-five refusing each minute would be. Sounds like a lot, but the mere thought of twenty-five people dying every minutes was heartwrenching. Made him thankful for his immortality.

“Guess, I’m tracking those facts down, aren’t I?” Elijah moaned. “What I talk myself into having to unearth.”

“You do get yourself into some pickels.” Javis let his head rest back as the news station replayed Enapay’s first speech. “Do you have an opnion on what I need to do about this guy?”

“You always do what is best in the end.”

“You really think that?”

Elijah came over and sat down beside him. “You have been put in a hard position by your leaders. You were chosen for a long assignment that would ential many, many twist and turns throughout it’s journey, but I’m sure you were the best to face it. Do I think that your leaders have made the right decision at every point and turn?” He wobbled his hand back and forth, then shrugged. “But that’s typical. No one is going to make the perfect decision their entire life. And your kind live forever, so you are bound to make some major screwups. Mulitple ones.”

“Does that mean you think . . . Taking on this assignment wasn’t a screwup, but . . . There have been many decisions made that I would have done differently. Why did I not?”

“You were told how to handle it and you did as directed. That’s what you where supposed to do. Do you deserve fault for that? No. It’s like wiht the military soilders. We send them in to do the dirty work and their actions are not to be put on their shoulders. It is on the ones who made the decisions. You are no different than them. Just a solider in a higher ranking spot than most.”

Twisted as that explanation sounded, it made a lot of sense. Yet, it felt like an execuse to soothe his aching soul.

“What I think . . .” Elijah pointed at the television screen as the newstation began replaying Enapay’s second speech. “That man is hell bent on making a point. One many are going to agree with. Go flockign to him. Want to join him in his cause, even if he has not said one thing about them doing so.”

Elijah was right. People whow disliked the Vampires would hear him providing them with facts taht could eliminate the stronghold teh Vampires had on the world. They would race to join in him in gaining control over the ones they viewed as their enemy. So far, Enapay had maid very mild statements against the Vampires. In the long run at least. Monsterious beings. Aliens. Those were all mild compared to some of the reactions that came about when he brought the Vampires existence to life. There’s been some lynch mobs formed, which went further to prove Alexander’s point that they should never have made themselves known to the humans. Javis was sure he could have avoided those kind of reactions if the right plan had been devised, but him sneaking in among the authorative ranks of goverment and making changes that restructured the entire layout of the United States only riled up most of the people to start with. It had taken him lots of traveling and press conferences and show of great acts to bring people over to his view of Vampires being just like any other human. A fact that stuck in his craw each time he had said it. They were far from being similar to humans.

“It is going to take a hidden harsh act to bring this to a resoultion isn’t it?” As much as he hated the idea of having to hang something over anyone’s head, which he’d known from the frist word that left Enapay’s mouth that he would have to, he would do so.

“Sure it is, but it’s been done before.”

“Sucks doing so.”

“Mateo is the best at his job. He will make it less painful for you.” Elijah slapped his leg. “He always has. Just give him some time. Until then . . . take in advice as it come and bide time with other work. Not like running the country is an easy job.”

16 Years Later

Chapter 1

“Our world has come to an end. We are no longer a single species, people want you to think these monsters are like us. They are far from civilized. If we look over the years of their hidden action among us, we will see this. If we had known about these beast, we would not have voted Javis Anderson the 4th into office. We would still have a two-term position among the president seat. Not an open-ended one that accommodates the eternal life of the foul creature, who calls himself our salvation. Salvation that comes at the ultimate cost of us turning over our death to him or another Vampire of our choosing. He has already stolen our states and counties from us and arranged them into Sectors ran by his chosen Vampires. He refuses to allow anyone other than his own people to take control, We have not lived under an authorative rule since the United States was created. Are we going to let him revoke what we have always known was best for us?

We have allowed a nasty, vile creature from the pits of Hell, that takes  blood from us daily to survive, to take control of our lives. His daily requirement of blood is the only reason that him and his monstrous alien race has taken over and put the law into affect that will cause us to become extent. Javis Anderson the 4th is the one that will be the death of our race and we have allowed it to happen. His trickery began fifteen years ago. He showed how much patients he has. He attack us from within. It is time for us to come straight at him.”

Julian had summoned him to the media room. Javis despised the accurately named room. Thin flat screen monitors graced every inch of all three walls. A smoothed covered sheet of wood had been pinned to the wall underneath them for people to sit and watch them. Dead center of the main wall sat a sixty inch television with the main new station that flickered between each new station across the world. Or it did until Julian pointed to the screen. It stopped and a deep, stern, scratchy tone filled the room. The medium build man had his hands behind his back, and Javis was sure he gripped them so tight that they were whiter than any piece of paper he’d seen.

“We have a major problem.” Julian said.

The man’s soft voice seemed out of place for the blaring anger flashing across his face. Man was in the right though. They had a major Hell storm coming their way. The vileness of the speaker’s words would rile up lots of humans. Most supported the changes he had made over the years of his political career and since he became the Commander and Chief of the United States. Still, there were defectors against all leaders. He was no exception.

“We have to do damage control.”

“You think.”

“Don’t go getting snippy with me.”

“I’ll do as I please.”

There was a dire call to rebuke the nasty speech. He had to fill in the holes that such hate filled words would create. He had to get the man out of the public eye. People would flock to him. The guy might not have asked them to, but . . . He had.

What did he do?

“We have to get out in front of this. I’ll call . . . you and Andy Candyman, from News Station 46, has the best recor. He’ll do perfect.”

He had to reach out to Dracula before he reacted. Didn’t he? Not an entire act had been made without direction from the Royal Blood Society since he’d been set out on his mission. Thing had been laid out directly and he’d been given specific orders. Yes, some things had been left up to the best course of action to get the upper hand in votes over the human race, but that had came from what he learned to do from education and him and his political group came up with. Dracula did not get involved in those aspect. Wasn’t this the same thing? It was. And this required a . . .

“Set up the press conference. I’ll get with Mateo and take care of the rest.” He’d have to get the deep and dirty on the new vocal threat. Find out where he came from. Who he was? All the dirty things that he could not unearth, but that Mateo and his Private Investigation department of his Security All The Time company could. They’d do so on the down low where he could not.

“Don’t make another mess for me to have to clean up.”

Looked as if his head of social presences was getting too big of a head. He’d have to be taken down a notch or two himself. Put in his place.

“Do I usually?” Javis waved at the screen. “Cut that shit off.” He spun on his heels and marched out of the room. Uncaring if they followed his order or not. They wouldn’t. Julian had them scared to miss one mention of his name in the media. Not that he could blame him. The world consisted of nothing but press. Worse it was, better people loved it. Even though, he had total control over the United States and had had for the last five years.

It’d taken him and his entourage of supporters six years to boost his following enough to get him voted into the White House and then two years to get the two-term administration term abolished. After that, it’d been a piece of cake to gather enough votes to shift the dynamics of the United States. The governing bodies faded into nothing and states, cities, and towns were turned into huge sectors and the existence of Vampires were brought to life. From there he had total control of the United States and Dracula’s overall plan had came to life. Other Vampires had done the same in other parts of the world and in each section a rule called Vampire Guardian had came into play. Simply stated that the human belonged to Javis or another one of the Vampires among the United States. That Vampire and the human had made a binding contract that upon his or her death the human would be kept alive long enough for the Vampire to reach him and then be changed into a Vampire by said Vampire. If no contract existed one had been created with Javis and a contract had been created with him and he was called in.

“What has happened?” Elijah came up to his side with his notepad and pen at the ready. Elijah Cones was the perfect assistant and best friend anyone could ask for. He never missed what was going on in his life. Knew when he needed a friend over a coworker and vise versa.

“Call Mateo and tell him to meet me in my office.”

“That bad, is it?”

Boy was it. He had to squash this man’s spillage before more came from him. He could not let one moment of doubt about how he ran the United States creep to life. If such took root in the United States it would in other areas of the world and Dracula’s plan would begin to unravel. Javis might not really have cared about how the plan fared to start with, but it had consumed the last fifteen years of his life and he would never go against what the Royal Blood Society asked him to do. Told him more like it. Voted for it. As the Vampire world liked to say they did.

“MIght as well call Mother as well.”

She’d have to be the one to reach out to Dracula and the rest of the Royal Blood Society. Far as the humans knew, no such group existed or had involvement with his decisions for the United States. Had to remain that way. Only reason, Elijah knew about it was that the man had been involved in every aspect of his life since they were in college working towards their Political Science degree.

“Darn it. Truly is bad.” Elijah pulled his phone out and began texting. “Mateo will meet us there in ten minutes. And I have to get the personal phone to reach out to Mother to cancel your supper plans.”

Code always worked best when dealing with Royal Blood Society. His personal phone had two numbers stored in it. His mother’s and his one true Vampire friend. Both of which, he always wanted their conversation kept away from the public eyes so he had an untraceable satellite phone that only he and Julian knew the location of. It’d take his mother about two hours, or less if she saw the broadcast, to reach out to him. Hell, if Dracula himself saw it, he’d be reaching out to him before she did. He hoped the all but recluse lifestyle the old Vampire lived kept him clueless.

Stolen Choices Prologue

 Hi

Hope all enjoyed the Entourage of Love. I enjoyed writing it and can't wait to go back and fix it up into a full length book for publication. I'm unsure when I will get to doing that, with me working on the Hell's Kingdom seven book series, but it and Inherited The Mob will be ones I work on soon. But for know . . .

It's time to start another story. This time we are going into the world of Vampires, who have taken over the world, but the one who was tasked with doing so isn't keen on the idea and his Heart Owner is . . . well let's just say very vocal about vampires and their actions.

Hope you enjoy Stolen Choices.

Where else would Dracula have them meet? Seculison. Area was secluded to start with, but he went ahead and created an oasis of it. Turned the bright, new green leaves into a canopy over a blanket of . . . stone. They were so high up that grass ceased to exist, which only enhanced the Stonehenge effect that the tall, deep brownish-gray tree trunks created. The sun-aged rocks of the Black Hills of South Dakota only added more of an authentic aspect. No one would accomplish a climb to the peak of the mountain and if they did, the winds rushing through the nature created hollows would mute anything the Royal Blood Society said during their meeting.

“Royal Blood Society,” Dracula’s deep base tone rolled over Javis like a ten foot wave crashing down on him. “Thanks for coming.”

Like he was given a choice. The Royal Blood Society had been formed by Dracula to maintain the secrecy of the Vampires. He’d chosen his five children and their eldest five children to give an air of majority rules leadership. Anyone with one ounce of common sense knew what Dracula said is what went.

“I want to discuss a major plan I have came up with. It will take some time, but the outcome will be more than worth it. I’m sure everyone of you will agree.”

Like we have another choice. Vampires who value their lives did as Dracula said. Without question. His children were no exception. A fact Javis learned early on in his Vampiric life. His mother had been told to avoid a certain faired-haired fellow because of her deep attraction to him, even though he was not her Heart Owner. She failed to do as told and ended up feeding from him and found herself unable to stop. We are only Vampires after all, and our nature does take over from time to time. Like humans, we have some food that just draw us in until we are glutton over it. That fellow was Elizabeta’s. Dracula secluded her in a coffin for ten years with only a small taste of animal blood each day for her disobedience. Mild punishment considering some of his other outlandish ones. The Royal Blood Society was more than well acquainted with Dracula’s outrageous ideas and implementation of them. As wild and strange as some had been, they went along with him.

“I have a plan that will allow us to become the rulers of the world.”

What the . . . oh boy. Most idiotic plan he’d ever came up with.

“It will take time. Many, many, many years, but I’m more than one hundred percent sure it will work.”

“Father,” Elizabeta, the eldest child, therefore, most equipped to wade the waters where Dracula was concerned and only one daring enough to insert herself before he explained, moved to stand in the center of the clearing. “Why do you wish to take over the world?”

Darn good question? He ruled over all the Vampires. He might have a stand-in for him in other countries, but they had to get approval for every little move they made. Some would say, right down to the next breath they took.

“My sweet, sweet Elizabeta, we will be able to cease living in the shadows. We will have control over who is in charge and when they are in charge. We will be able to put more Vampires in positions of power. This will give those who wish, and have the strength that is going to waste, to express and expel it safely. Do you not agree?”

Javis knew his mother would agree with her father before she gave a small nod, but at least he saw her flickering her fingers the way she did when she was giving an idea an indepth work though. He wasn’t sure where he stood on the idea. Some of what Dracula pointed out made sense, but he’d liked time to study over the exact words spoken. Dig into each section deeper and make sure there would be no loopholes that might come back to bite them in the ass at some later point. Happened many times in the past with Dracula’s plans. There’d be no time for that. Javis could already tell Dracula had the plan ready to lay out and put it in motion. That meant . . .

What did that mean? For the Vampires? For the humans? For the world as a whole?

Chapter 33

That was . . . Unexpected.

You are right there, My Love. Do you think Tony will have an issue with us staying in Larry’s area?I

Bobby wasn’t sure what Uncle Tony had in mind for him since Tommy was no longer in the picture. He knew that he wanted him to continue to learn what it took to run his Mob. An honor in an among itself when he’d been the mate to his nephew. Tommy being . . .

He gripped James’ arm, tugging him to a stop before they got any closer to the kitchen where Tony waited for them. He lowered his voice and leaned in close. “My . . . my wolf is . . . he’s not . . . is wrong. So wrong. I just lost Tommy, but my Cal no longer seems . . .”

“Distraught?”

He nodded. “Why is that?”

“His new wolf mate has came into play. In a way it has eased that hole, but I”m sure you are still a bit sore about it, aren’t you.”

Another nod. “He might have screwed me over . . .  in many ways, but I fell hard for him. Guess he was the first real love I ever had. I mean I had crushes before, but me and my animal had never been on the same page. It felt right and I let my whole heart and soul fall for him. So deep that . . .” he had not seen the truth. There’d been a lot of people in his life that had pulled the wool over his eyes. “Was I that easy of a mark, sweetie?”

“No. Simeon played his part from the time you were born. As you’ve discovered your Daddy really knew nothing about what was taking place. Simeon spun one by him, like he did Tony and you. From what I can deduct from this entire situation, this has been one or fuck toy for so many people and too many damn good people got hurt in many ways.”

“He speaks the truth, Bobby.” Uncle Tony said as he leaned against the doorway to the kitchen. “Sorry to ease drop, but  my vampire ears are very sensitive and . . .”

“I didn’t speak low enough.” Bobby chuckled. “Never been around Vampires much. “Guess that’ll be changing.”

“So I heard as well.”

“Dman, you guys do have sensitive ears. Didn’t realizes Larry’s were so . . . Do you think he heard everything we spoke about in private in our home, but kept it to himself?”

“If he’s a smart Vampire he did.” Uncle Tony chuckled. “Never was smart much. It’s how I got to be the biggest mobster this side of the country. Soon to be the world.” He spun and walked back into the kitchen. “Made some drinks for us. Got you some blood, Bobby, doubted you thought about it yet today.”

“He hasn’t. We were discussing that when my brother arrived.”

You want the drink that’s fine, but you can feed from me at any time, if you wish, My Love.

I know, but he done made the drink.  Wasn’t sure if Tony could take the idea of me feeding from anyone other than Tommy at the time. His eyes had a somber look to them. They weren’t as bright as they usually was. People might think he was this big bad mobster, but he loved his nephew like a son and thanks to Tommy’s horrific acts he had to end his life. Not just. Because if he had not it would have looked like he gave favors to family, which everyone knew he did not, but because Tommy had broken so many laws that Larry would have had to kill him for them. Larry would not like having to have ticked Tony off, but he would not have let that intimidate him and Tony would not have wanted him to let that happen. It was not what had helped him become the mobster he was today or would not allow him to stay the one he was, or become the one he still longed to be. Didn’t mean it didn’t leave a major hole in his heart.

“You okay, Uncle. Tony.”

“Let’s have a drink in his honor. I know . . . he done us both wrong in the end, but he was once a . . .”

Bobby picked up the glass of blood that had been poured from him and held out shot of dark amber colored liquor to James. They all clinked glasses and tossed their drinks back.

“To a wonderful man and a fierce lover.” He said as he sat down. “Guess you know that I’m going to have to buy a larger house in this area, if this is not suitable to your plans then I’ll understand if you wish to find someone else to learn beside you.”

“Nonsense.” Tony waved. “I like this area. Unsure how much Alpha Timbers will like having me here, but me and him will work our way through the bumps in the road. I’m sure him having family all around him will make it much easier on him.”

He know my brother well. He’d do anything to have his family around him. You being here will make it even better since Daniel’s little stunt cost him his life.

It sure had been a hell of a couple of days. Loss lives because of stupidity. Truth unearthed. New relationships. New places among the world. And all of it was foreign to him. What was he going to do? How would he adapt to it all?

One day at a time, My Love, that’s how.

You reading my mind, now?

Just your face.

“James,” Uncle Tony kept his attention on Bobby, but spoke to James. “I wish to extend the same offer I had with my nephew to Bobby.”

“What offer is that?”
