Chapter 23
Bobby’s inside swirled so fast his hand rested over his stomach, hoping to keep it from spewing out in front of Tommy and his Uncle. It had taken them twenty minutes to get to Daddy Simon’s and then one of the huge goon like dudes that rode in the front of the limo had came in and searched the entire room. Once he left, Bobby went over and hugged Tommy, whispering how sorry he was.
“It’s fine, honey.”
“I know how you hate to bring him into things.”
“I would for you anytime.”
Tony walked over to Daddy Simon and held his hand out. “Where is the note?”
Daddy Simon nodded at him and Tony faced him. Bobby held the paper out, hoping like hell his hands did not shake. He wasn’t sure why nerves had crept to life in him. He’d faced Tony in Tommy’s house. Been fine with him, but there was something about . . . It was asking him for help. Knowing that he’d be asking Daddy Simon for some sort of payment. Bobby despised the fact that Daddy Simon would be indebted to Tony Stake because of him.
“This was written by James Taylor? How did he get out of jail?”
“Not sure.” Daddy Simon had already assigned people to looking into that. He’d gave the head guard down the road and promised solid punishment for their slip up. “They did not even miss him until this morning.”
“Here is what I will do,” Tony faced Tommy until Tommy gave a curt nod. “There will be three guards with them when ever they are out. I do not want you to put your life on hold. They will stay out of the way. You will use on of my limos until this is resolved. When in the house there will be two guards on each side and one in each room. At night they will be outside and you will use a code word if you are in danger. Is all this clear, guys?”
Sounded a bit overboard, but had to admit it settled Cal down more than a hung under the moon ever had. “Yes, Mr. Stake.”
“Yes, Uncle.”
“Great.” Tony put his full focus on Bobby and smiled at him. “You may call me Tony.”
That was great. Right? If he did not accept Tommy and his relationship then he would not allow me to address him so casually. Right? “Thank you, Sir.” Tony shifted his body towards Daddy Simon and took on a stone cold expression. “I know how much you must want to hunt him down, but don’t Alpha Tate. Let it stand that he is of no importance and I will set my best guys on finding him.”
Wow. Major resources going into the favor. How much would it take to pay him back? Daddy Simon could not be indebted too deeply to a mob. It would not look good to the council. “Tony, Sir, what will this cost my Alpha?”
“Him and I will work that out. It will be fair. I promise.” Tony waved his hand towards the door. “You two take the limo and go home. It will come back for me.”
Bobby glanced at his Daddy Simon, who gave him a slight nod. It did little to appease the wavering unease that had consumed his body. He did not think Tony would harm his Daddy Simon, but he felt it only his right to be involved in discussing payment. After all, it was because of him that Tony had to be called it. It should be him that had to pay him. Not his Daddy Simon. Not the Pack.
“Come on, honey.” Tommy gave him a slight tug.
“You are dismissed, Bobby.”
Daddy Simon left him no options but to leave when he stepped back into Alpha mode. He gave a small bow and wrapped his arm around Tommy. They walked out the house and down the steps.
“Uncle will be fair with him. You do not have to worry, honey.”
“I know.” He would worry until he knew what it cost his Daddy Simon. If Daddy Simon even told him. Doubtful he would.
