Weekly Prompt

 Hi all,

First and all, Happy Memorial Day. Thanks to all those who served and died for our countries freedom over the years. I appreciate your sacrifice and that of your families. Without you, I would not have the right to express myself the way I do each week and the write to publish my work.

Now, on to the writing part.

Hope you all enjoy this week's prompt. It's not a full story for the prompt, but it's a start. I'm not too happy with what came from me on it, but it is what came to mind and that's what the point of these weekly prompts are. To sit and write what comes to mind during a free write session. Never know, I might come back to it at some other time and turn it into something amazing.

Take time to read what I came up with and let the imagination soar.

Julia

Prompt: Your main character works as one of the following: a plumber, a baker, a hairdresser, a PE teacher. They are also one of the following: a vampire, a ghost, an elf, a fairy.

Prompt Choices: Baker who is a Fairy

The bright, yellow moon still lights the pavement as I flew through the flush green foliage towards the newly, built dark red, brick building dead center of Fairy Town. I’d been lucky to gain the position of Head Morning Baker. Didn’t expect it to entail flying through the streets at three in the morning every day of the week. Seven days a week then working eight to ten hours shifts a day. Great pay, though.

“Holt there.”

I drew up short, lifting my short fairy arms into the air. “What do you want?”

“What are you doing out at this time of night?”

A human man, wearing a dark blue uniform with a gold star across the right front of his chest pocket. Darn, didn’t need any trouble from one of them. Just wanted to get to work and do my job and make money for my family and get them out from under the King’s thumb. I liked about three more months of hard work before I’d be able to do so. Then it would take a lifetime of hard work to keep them free from him, long as I could keep my baby brother out of trouble. Darn halfling never knew when to keep his mouth shut or where to keep his dick out of. That’s what got our family locked away to begin with. He decided to hold up with the King’s youngest son for a month without permission.

“Think I asked you a question, Fairy.”

“Sorry, Sir. I’m on my way to work.”

“Where at, Fairy?”

“In Fairy Town, the King’s Fay Bakery, Sir.”

“Why is there no one escorting you, Fairy?”

“I don’t need anyone to escort me, Sir.”

“You do at this time of night, Fairy.”

“And why is that, Sir?”

There was no law stating that and I was just like every other fairy in the world with all their rights, even though I was under the thumb of the King. He might own me and my family, for now, but that did not steal our rights to come and go where we pleased as long as we did as told when we were told to do so by him. And I did. It’s why I’d earned the right to work to pay my families debt off.

“You are a nice young Fairy man and anyone could do harm to you, Fairy.”

Weekly Prompt

Hi All

Sorry for the missed couple of weeks. It's been a bit hectic in my life and I've been unable to get the blog written. I apologize and hope that the worst crazy part of my life is over. But if not, they might be some more weeks missed. I hop this is not the case, but if so, you have my apologizes ahead of time. But for this week, I have your writing prompt for the week. I hope you enjoy it and are able to let your imagination soar.

Prompt: A vampire, a dwarf, and a werewolf walk into a bar…

Never thought I’d seen it, but I saw it. The day started off like any other day. Woke up. Went to work. Stopped off at my favorite bar on the way home orders my favorite beer from Alman, the bartender who knew everything. Me and Alman were in a deep conversation about the Panther’s draft choice when the entire room went so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. I spun on my barstool towards the door.

There they stood. The most unusual trio in the world. These three kinds of people had never been seen side-by-side in over two centuries. They preferred to do battle than breath the same air as one another. So why were they side by side in the same bar as me.

The tall, lanky, pale skinned gentleman, and that’s all you could all him with the way he wore a fancy, silky black suit with a sparkling white shirt with gold cufflinks and shiny, squared toed shoes. Typical clothing style for all Vampires. Right the opposite appearance than the scruffy appearance of the dark-brown haired, fully bearded man with baggy sweatpants and a holey t-shirt on. Bit dressier for a Werewolf than I’d seen before. The oddest among them all was the four-foot tall, dwarf that stood looking like a leprechaun with his green top hat.

“What do you think they are doing here? Together?” Alman whispered over my shoulder.

Wasn’t sure, but it couldn’t be good.

The three of them scanned the room three times before their eyes settled on me.

Something New

 Hi all,

Going to try something new for a change. Instead of writing a story from scratch, I'm going to choose a starting line from a list and see what comes of it. I'm also cutting down on how many post I write a week to one a week. It will be on Wed. of each week. This will start next week. So I hope all likes the new change and enjoy what comes of what I find to write about.

Thanks and remember let your imagination soar.

Chapter 37

Ez and I made our way down the steps and into the living room when Maga came in holding a dark amber drink. Looked as if he’d pulled out his top notch liquid for Your Highness.

“Father, why are you taking advantage of my new family?”

“It is not an advantage, Prince.”

“See, I’m not rude, son.”

“Matter of opinion.” Ez huffed and led me over to the sofa across from his father, sitting me down. “What was you thinking entering our bedroom like that?”

“You should have contacted me before you sealed yourself together. Should you not?”

I refused to wiggle in my seat under his intense stare. Ez snapped his finger in front of my face, not to get my attention, but to drag his father’s attention back to him. I’d have to give him a huge kiss when his father was gone.

“And why should I do that? It is my life and he is my Chosen One. We were within our right, were we not?”

Your Highness waved his hand, like swatting a mosquito away. “Doesn't matter where my son is concerned. I have the finally say.”

“If that is what you think, then you can take my title form me and shove it up your demon leadership ass, father.” Ez stood and pointed at the door. “Leave and take all your guards with you. We do not need you.”

What the heck was he doing? I did not want him to do that. His father would blame me. Blame Maga. Take it out on him and my entire family. I went to stand, but Maga motioned for me to remain seated, so I did, staring up at Ez.

Moloch sprang to his feet, speed walking to Ez, getting in his face. “You will do no such think. You are my only child.”

“Then I guess you accept my Chosen One and respect our home from this point forward.”

Moloch huffed and spun on his heel. “You are leaving me no choice.”

“Guess not.”

“Ungrateful son.”

“Guess so. Either that or nothing at all.”

“Fine. Fine. You can have your Chosen One.”

“Know I will.”

Ez had known how to play his father the entire time. He knew what would happen when he played his trump card. I’d not been on top of my game where Moloch was concerned, but Maga had, which was why he alerted me to remain seated and let Ez play his game. Guess Ez knew his father like most people knew there’s.

Would I ever know Maga that much? Didn’t matter if I did then or not, one day I would know him enough to be able to read his signs and his state of mind. That’s what I wanted, one day when it was proper. Until then, what we had was perfectly acceptable.

“I will leave it up to Maga to get this place setup for security and make it safe for you and your Chosen One. I will make the statement this evening. Until then . . .” Moloch sighed, “You will have to have extra guards stationed here.”

“Yes, Your Highness.” Maga stepped forward. “I”m already on top of it.”

“Figured as much.” Moloch walked out of the room without another word.

“Guess I shouldn’t have expected a well wish or congratulations.” Ez flopped down beside me, taking my hand. “Least he agreed to our combining.”

“He had no other choice.” I leaned over half in his lap, kissing him until he wrapped his arms around me.

“Um.” That was nice. “What did I do to get that?”

“You stood up to the big old master demon for me.”

“Would no matter what it cost me, baby.”

“Most would not have been willing to give up an entire empire for little ole me.”

“Then they would have been unworthy of you.” Ez took hold of my cheek, placing a light kiss on my lips. “You are worth everything to me. No matter how much it cost me, you will always come first to me. Got me?”

“I do. What now?”

“We live our lives together.”
