One of the required understanding to the theory and practice of witchcraft is the Hermetic Quaternary. Which consist of four parts. To Know. To Will. To Dare. To Keep Silence. Keep silence is the circle.

To Know or Earth tells us that there is power in knowledge.

To Will or Air tells us that power and discipline is the device of creation.

To Dare or Fire tells us you have to know how to mediate and focus. Basically you are willing to create now do it.

To Keep Silence or water tells us that silence is a potent reserved power.
