Chapter 32

Rex knocked on the office door, waiting for an enter. He’d like to say fear did not course over him, but . . . not so much fear, but unease and unsure. Both of those were high in his mind.

“Rex,” Aspen said as he stepped as. “Is something wrong?”

“I asked him to join us.” Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas came up to my dad’s side. “Young Fabin and you are correct. I was making things harder for him.”

He had asked me to join him. It was his voice in my head. He was not hiding the fact that he spoke to me mind to mind. He’d not outright said it, but the way Fabin’s eyes darted from mine to mine, pausing for a second before they fell and a huge frown marred his face, told Rex he knew what was going on with him. Also told him that he did not like it. Meant Rex would not like it

Rex rushed to Fabin’s side and wrapped his arms around him, snuggling into his side. “What is wrong, baby?”

He brushed a finger down my cheek, smiling at me, but it held not life. It was a forced smile, fake one. not like the one that Rex got most of the time.

“What is going on?” His wolf had him spinning and snarling at Aspen and Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas.

“He is fine, just a bit unhappy with what he knows is now the pure truth.”

“And what is that?”

“That I am your True Guardian Mate.”

A . . . No. Not possible. Fabin was his mate. All the signs where there. All the books he’d read said nothing about more than one mate. There was no signs of a mateship between him and . . . .

True Guardian Mate could talk mind to mind. Check. There was an attraction to one another. Man was sexy, but other than that, which was a normal reaction to anyone who looked good. His wolf did not feel pulled towards Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas. Did he?

He took a moment, taking stock of his wolf’s state of mind. He’d been so intune with Fabin and wanting to mate with him that he had not paid attention to anyone else. Still wasn’t. If Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas was his True Guardian Mate then his wolf would be foaming at the mouth to get to him. Wouldn’t he?

“You are wrong.”

Rex snuggled closer to Fabin, snuffling and nuzzling his neck.

“Only mate I have is Fabin. He is mine. I am his. We will mate soon. Isn’t that right, baby?”

Fabin stiffened, and tightened his hold.

“What is wrong?”

“he can not mate you until I tell him he can. As True Guardian I have say over all of your other mateships.”

“You are a fool. You can not have more than one mate.” He looked up at Fabin, finding no agreement with him, so he shifted his eyes to his father, who sighed. “This is one of those things that Mr. Chamberland refused to teach his wolves?”

“I’m sure he did not even know this existed.” My father said. “We did not until Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas explained that it was possible.”

“How is it possible?”

Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas came to stand in front of Rex, only to be snarled at by Fabin and him. He held his hands up and took a step back.

“In time you will become accustom to me.” He sighed. “Mixed Breeds are known to have up to three mates. One for each type of race they have and on rare occasions, like ours, one will have a True Guardian Mate.”

Three mates? One for each species. That meant . . . “A werewolf, Fabin. Right?” Fabin kissed my cheek. “A witch, who I’ve yet to meet. Does it mean I will meet them?”

“No.” Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas replied.

“And then . . .” Rex sniffed the air, taking in the animals around him. A lion and jaguar. “You are not even the same race as me.”

“Does not matter. I am a mixed breed. That is all that counts.”

Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas seemed to be keen on the idea that we were a couple. Rex was not. He had Fabin. That was all he wanted. All he could handle. A True Guardian Mate was supposed to be something to special that they were revered. Rex did not even know how it worked for him. All he knew was that Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas was in his way of mating with . . .

“Break our mateship, please.” The words were free before he even knew if he meant them. The room grew silent.

“I will not do that. You just need time to adjust to the news that you can have multiple mates. I was not going to tell you until you made it to the Mixed Breed part of your schooling, but . . .

“You told Fabin we could not mate. Why is that? Why did he listen to you? You are just higher ranked than him, but that does not have anything to do with mine and his relationship.” He hoped.

“You already know it does.” Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas nodded at Fabin, who lifted my head by the chin.

“You need to listen to how a True Guardian Mate relationship works among a Mixed Breed. It is way different.”

Chapter 31

“You are mine. There is nothing wrong.” Fabin gripped Rex’s chin, forcing him to look up. “Always and forever. No matter what. We clear on that?”

“Course we are.” Rex wasn’t sure what had brought on that sudden bought of verbal ownership, but he’d give his mate what he needed. “What happened?”

“Nothing, sweetie.” Fabin glanced over Rex’s shoulder and gave a small bow. “I’m fine, Alpha.”

“I’ll take you at your word.” Alpha Widows might, but Rex wasn’t going to. Once they were alone, he’d pry whatever had pulled that howl/snarl from him out. No one needed to hold such in.

“Alpha Widows, Coven Leader Perry, we need to have a word.” Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas didn’t not wait for them to agree, he simply went back into the office.

“That man is the rudest.”

Fabin snorted. Alpha Widows grunted. Dad sighed, shaking his head. “Might be, but he is higher up than me. You two go enjoy the rest of the day.”

“Let’s go watch a movie.” Rex took Fabin by the hand and led him back to his bedroom. “What you want to watch?”

“Doesn’t matter. I’ll end up watching you.”

Rex chuckled and just stuck in one of the movies he had laying beside the player. Not caring what it was either. He let the move begin and crawled up on the bed beside his mate. He curled up against his side, letting him wrap him into a nice little warm cocoon.

For some time they watched the movie then the movie became boring. He let his hands run up Fabin’s leg to his thigh, stopping just over his jean clad cock. He was just about to grip him when Fabin, took hold of his hand, bringing it up to his lips, kissing it. He kept hold of his hand, resting their combined hands on his chest. Tight and tense chest muscles. Something was wrong. No other time had Fabin stopped him from touching him. He’d loved for him to do so. NO other time had he been tense around him. Why was he now?

Rex used his free hand to push himself upright. “What is wrong?”

“Nothing, sweetie.”

“You are not a good - -“

The house shook as a wolf howl had Fabin leaping from the bed and racing out the door. Rex followed behind just as Fabin busted into the office. Rex got to the doorway in time to see Fabin tugging Alpha Widows away from Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas.

“Calm down, Alpha.”

“I’m fine.” Dad said as he laid a hand on Alpha Widows’ chest. “Look at me and see for yourself. Just got a bit pissed off. That’s all.”

“Everyone of you best calm the fuck down. That’s an order.” Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas snapped.

“Dad,” Rex’s voice came out more of a whisper than he liked so he forced himself to say it again. “Dad, what is going on?”

“Nothing you need to know of right now, Young Mixed Breed.”

“Dad,” Rex locked eyes with his dad and waited for an answer.

His dad glanced back at Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas then sighed. “I’m afraid he is right, right now, Rex. It will all become clear as you learn the ways of life.”

“Fuck that shit. Tell me now.”

“You Mix Breed, you must calm down and accept that you have to - -“

“I don’t have to accept anything.” Rex never once looked at Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas, but kept his entire focus on the three men he knew would answer him truthfully. “Tell me what is going on.”

All three of them looked at Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas and then hung their heads. Answer enough.

“You have ordered them to keep shit from me, have you not?”

“Calm yourself, Young Mix Breed.”

“I have a fucking name. Answer me.”

“It is not time for you to know all. Give it time.”

“Fuck this shit.” Rex threw his hands into the air. “Dad, Fabin, I’m going to my room to decide what I will do next.”

Rex marched out of the room, stopping just a few feet from the door, which he left open. On purpose.

“Told you.” Fabin snapped. “What did he mean by that last comment Coven Leader Perry?”

“I’m not sure, but I know my son wants me and you to join him.”

“You do not think he will leave do you?”

Fabin knew him better than he realized, because that was exactly what Rex had in mind.

“He might.”

“He will not.” Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas snapped. “I will not allow it.”

“You are the one causing it.” Fabin and my dad said together.

“Get your head out of your ass and give him the answers he needs when he request them. He is not like other Mixed Breeds. I told you this.” Dad’s voice rang with a certainty that only a father could hold. He might not have known Rex long, but he knew his son. “He is a strong, alpha born, warlock leader born Mixed Breed who was raised as a human. He knows nothing of our ways and will not be able to learn the way you want him to.”

“I told you this as well.” Fabin snapped. “I told you how much trouble his wolf was having with grasping why he had gone from being the unspoken leader of the Chamberland Pack to being in no pack. It is not easy on him. Add in his human side trying to do as requested by the Head of the Supernatural World and you. Now you want to go and change all the rules. It will not go over with him. You are going to run him away.”

Fabin and his dad knew him way better than he thought. Silence grew and grew, so he made his way back to his room. Just as he entered it the crazy mental voice reminded him he forgot to ask his dad about it.

Do you truly need to know what is taking play, my sexy man?

Yes.

Quick response. You have learned to use our bond well.

Had he? How had he done so?

You did so by mistake, didn’t you?

Yes.

Even if it is mistakes, you are talking to me. That tells me you are more ready to know than I thought. Come joins us in the office, my sexy man.

He wasn’t sure if he should listen to the voice. What if he went and he’d not been asked to come? What if the voice he head was not Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas, but someone playing a cruel prank on him? Could he take that risk?

He had to. His gut told him it was the only way to get answers. If he was not called to the office, lord that sounded like he was in trouble, then at least he could explain the mental voice to everyone and they could get to the bottom of it. If he had been called then . . . an explanation was awaiting him.

Chapter 30

Rex turned the corner into the kitchen, stopping short and backing back up without making a sound. Not knowing the room caused him to bump his elbow into the wall. With a powerful Alpha standing in the Kitchen, even if his huge arms were wrapped around Aspen as their lips did the wild tango, heard the faint thump in made.

“Rex,” Aspen’s face reddened a bit, but he did not pull away from Alpha Widows when he tugged him into his side. “Your lessons over for the day?”

“Yeah. Sorry I interrupted.”

“Don’t worry about it.” Alpha Widows leaned his chin on Aspen’s shoulder. “It was time you found out about us.”

“It’s new.” Aspen’s words flowed from him fast and shaky. “I promise. I was never unfaithful to your mom. I remained devoted to her while we were apart. I never would have betrayed the love we had for each other. Could not have. I promise. Please believe me.”

“Shh.” Alpha Widows whispered against his cheek. “I’m sure he does. Don’t you.”

Why would he have? Mom had remained away from him and started another life even though she was pregnant by him. She never once reached out to him. She could have. She never told me about him. Had plenty of time to do so. Eighteen years. There were no half siblings, but mom and dad, or the man Rex knew as Dad, had sex. He heard them a time or two.

“Why would you?”

“I loved her. She was my mate.”

Rex got the love part, but that would have faded over time. Should have. Right? For most it would have. Among the humans, at least. Could be different among the Warlocks. Mom made it look like it wasn’t the case among the Werewolves.

“She was my mate.” Aspen repeat of the comment was so low and much like a duh comment.

“You speak like that is a given.”

“It is.” Both of them replied.

Rex growled when both of them chuckled at him, but they ceased and pointed at the table. He sat and settled in for their explanation.

“Mates are an amazing find. You never give up on mate. You know how you feel for Fabin’s know, can you imagine not spending the rest of your life with him?”

He couldn’t. Fabin had to be in his life. There was no way around that. Life would be horrible without him. Just being away from him overnight had been . . . He’d woken twice with the dire need to run to his mate and check on him. He’d actually picked up the phone five times to text him. Only being afraid of looking pushing and clinging had kept him from doing so. Looked like it he’d been acting normal after all. There was no way my mind and body would have survived being away from him for more than a day or two without seeing or hearing his voice. That being the case, how had . . .

“How did you manage it, Aspen?”

“It was . . . most difficult and challenging and debilitating thing I’ve ever been through.”

“There were many days and nights that he leaned heavy on his father and grandfather for aid. There were potions concocted to aid the pain and reduce the need that coursed through him. PI were hired to try and find her when I was not able to catch a trace of her scent.” Alpha Widows took hold of Aspen’s hands. “Many, many nights we sat up together, talking about your mother. The past times they had together. Tossing out ideas of what she was up to. Where she was. How she was doing. If you were okay. Your father never once gave up on locating either of you. He exhausted every means he, his family, and I could think of. It hurt every one of us to see him suffer.”

Wasn’t sure what I expected to hear when this conversation started, but that was not it. How did one respond to such. Thanks didn’t fit. Sorry didn’t fit. Wish you had not suffered sounded lame. He needed something that showed he cared and accepted all that the man went through. Something that gave him proof that his journey of trials and pain was not wasted. What . . . Ah, yes. That was it.

“Dad, you being unfaithful to my mom never crossed my mind.”

A huge, bright smile lit the room, only to be dimmed by a loud half howl, growl. Alpha Widows jumped to his feet as Rex leapt up, knocking the chair back. He raced from the room, taking the corner of the hallway, barely missing the table that sat at the edge. Just as he came around the corner, Fabin marched from Aspen’s office. Back straight. Face fiery red. Teeth were fangs. But what had Rex’s hands going to his chest was how his lips were down and those deep sexy dark eyes were dim.

Rex snatched him by his arms, tugging him into him, throwing his arms around him. “What is wrong, baby?”

Chapter 29 Part 2

Ripe bananas filled the air, but there was a stronger scent that overpowered the lingering affects of Aspen’s show of vast cooking skills. There was no wetness to the air or thickness. So no moisture to irritate his skin, but it felt like spiders used him for a pole. His heart raced. His muscles were tight even after flexing and releasing them. His cock was . . . that was the problem. It was hard as a brick and it was all Fabin’s fault. Rex  His rich, masculine scent filled every inch of the air. His presence left no room for nothing else to seep into his mind. His wolf might not be physically present, but it called and beckoned to Rex’s, making him jumpy, jittery, on the edge, but above all else he was horny. He waned his mate. If he wanted his mate and his mate was in the same room then he should have his mate. That was what his wolf thought. His wolf did not understand that at that moment they were there to learn. He did not care about learning, all he cared about was scratching his itch. He did not grasp the reason why it mattered that they not involve themselves in such a deep manner at that time. His wolf craved and pawed for his mate’s touch. Anything. A finger. Just a brush of skin to skin. It did not matter. He’d settle for a simply pat on the shoulder, but Rex knew that would not settle him long, so he did not make that suggestion. But he did have a bargain in mind. One that would be fun for him and Fabin, but leave them a bit worked up. Was it fair? Not really, but he needed his mind clear.

Rex let the toe of his shoe run up the side of Fabin’s leg, stopping at the kneecap to slip underneath it. He let the toe of his shoe rest against the underside of Fabin’s knee for a few moments as he stared into his mate’s sexy eyes. When they started to fill with the hint of lush, he lowered his foot, leaning forward until he was bracing his hand son Fabin’s knees. He was face to face with his mate, who licked his lips.

“What are you doing, baby?”

“Settling my wolf.”

“Not sure this will settle him.” Fabin gripped his by the hips and yanked him onto his lap.

Might not, but it sure would give him a break from the constant chat of mate with mate. He was tired of the saying. He might not give his wolf exactly what he wanted, but he’d give him some fun.

Rex scooted forward until their cocks were pressed against one another and he ground down, pulling a moan from Fabin. He slammed his lips over Fabin’s silencing him before he brought Aspen to investigate. He’d done had his biological dad walk in on them once. Did not want a repeat of that. Not that it should matter. He was almost nineteen.

Fabin thrust up as he thrust his tongue into Rex’s mouth, dueling with is tounge. His hands was up the back of Rex’s shirt, tracing his spine as his mate rutted on top of him. His release raced up even as his mind screamed they had to stop, but his mate had initiated their interaction and his wolf was right there with his mate’s thinking.

“Stop it.” Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas voice rang through the room, like a bucket of ice water.

My sexy man, you can not be getting him and his wolf worked up to that point. Nor yours. It is not time for you two to mate. Not yet. You have much to learn first. I will make it easier on you to refrain from him, if I must.

There was that damn mental voice again. Rex wasn’t sure how Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas was able to speak to me mind to mind and he’d avoided asking Aspen. Out of fear of his answer. Cowardly, but Rex did not think he could handle another major supernatural revelation.

“Fabin,” Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas voice held all the power and authority that a leader could use, “we must talk. End your lesson for the day and join me in Coven Leader Aspen Perry’s office.”

“Yes, Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas.” Fabin replied as he tugged him closer and pressed his face against his neck. “I have one more thing that must be said for the day.”

“Take care of it quickly.” Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas spun and walked down the short hallway that I knew led to Aspen’s office.

“He could have asked.” Rex muttered.

“He does not have to ask for anything.” Fabin kissed him and tapped his hip. “Hop up and take a seat.” He waited until I was across from him. “Was that what your wolf wanted, or a bargin?”

“Sort of both.”

“Explain.”

“He wants any part of you he can get. So do I, but . . .”

“It’s not the time for us to mate. I get that. Our wolves might be on a different train of thought, but for now, we have to be the stronger of the two. It won’t be easy, but we have to work as a team to avoid them over powering us. Together we can hold them off until the right time. Do you not think so?”

Would be a challenge and half, but one they could accomplish together. He gave him a brief nod. “Go take care of business with Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas, I’ve got to go and speak with Aspen about something.”

Might should have asked Fabin, but something told me it was not wise or smart to ask him. That whatever allowed Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas to speak to me in such a intimate manner would set Fabin and his wolf off.

Chapter 29 Part 1

Rex sighed as he wiggled in his seat. A seat his ass had became accustomed to over the last four days. He’d requested getting started learning and his request had been granted. He should have known it would not be simple. Nope. Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas decided it was best for him to learn the werewolf way of life first, then move onto the warlock aspect, before finishing up with the Mixed Breed. That didn’t get his goat. Nope. Not even him assigning Fabin to teach him the proper way a werewolf of this time and age lived bothered him. Nope. It was how hard it was to control his damn wolf while Fabin sat there in a tight pair of jeans that accentuated his nice firm ass and a light blue shirt that brought out his eyes and stretched across his broad shoulders. Lick worthy and very distracting. All I could do was shift and wiggle trying to get my elongated cock to relax a bit. Wasn’t happening.

“Did you get that?”

“Yes.” Your body is hot. No to what you said.

“Then tell me what I said.”

Damn it. Rex sighed and shook his head. “I can’t.”

“What is wrong? You are moving around worse today than you were yesterday.”

What was he supposed to say? He was what was wrong. His hot, sexy body, that Rex wanted to strip down and lick was what was wrong. Yet at the same time . . . Rex knew that shouldn’t happen, but he could not seem to get control of his strong heard wolf.

“How can I gain control of this wayward wolf.”

“Giving you a fit, is he?”

I huffed.

“What’s got him riled up?”

Like he didn’t know. Rex lifted an eyebrow.

“If you don’t tell me then  I can’t decide what method is best to use. Controlling your animal side is a guessing game most of the time. It’s like a toss up. Sort of.” Fabin stretched his long muscular legs out, crossing his ankles. “Lots of the time you just have to give them what they want, or bargin with them. So if you . . .”

Bargin with them. Give them what they want. Well, what his wanted sat right in front of him, but he could not have sex with him. That’s what he wanted. Last time we’d been mere inches from taking things to the floor of my Aspen’s living room floor. Would have if Aspen and Alpha Widows hadn’t stopped us. Aspen then quickly explained what it meant. As pissed off as Rex’s body was, and his wolf, he was glad they had stopped them. Before he mated with anyone he needed a clear understanding of just what that meant for him in the grand scheme of things. That’s another reason he needed his wolf to allow him to pay attention to what Fabin was teaching him.

Mixed Supernatural Councilman Alvin Thomas, had chosen Fabin to teach him about the werewolves to give them time to be together and give Fabin’s wolf a sense of aiding his mate. Turned out that Rex’s feeling of tending to Larry had been natural, not just a reaction to him being weaker than him. Nope. Mates wanted to be the rock for their other half. The one they leaned on. Fabin’s wolf needed to be involved in his learning, or he would feel jibbed.

“. . . Your wolf will tell you the best way to give him what he requires to settle. You just have to listen to him. Open your full sense to him. Try it.”

Okay. We’d worked on opening all the sense the other day. Rex had done it pretty easy, so this should be a snap.

He did a little wiggle in the chair, scooting down, relaxing by stretching his legs out and letting his shoulders drop forward. He tilted his head from side to side until it ceased cracking. Then he took in a deep breath.
