Chapter 43

Tommy and him had just sat down when the doorbell rang. Tommy got up and made his way to the door, escorting Alpha Kind back into the living room where the rest of them sat. Alpha Kind gave Tony, Daddy Simon, and him all a small tilt of the head as Tommy came and took his spot beside him. Bobby wasn’t too keen on how dismissive Alpha Kind was of Tommy, but he knew it was their way of life, which was the only reason nothing was said about it. Tony would have jumped all over him if that hadn’t been the case. Tommy would have clawed his eyes out of his skull for doing such if it wasn’t proper.

“Heard there was some excitement in the woods.” Alpha Kind paced back and forth in front of the living room window, glancing out it after each full trip.

He knew something. What? Answer his questions might get him that answer.

“Yes, Sir.” Bobby’s voice came out rough and tight. “I tracked him to the stream before losing his scent.”

Alpha Kind stopped in the center of the window and stared out it. He gripped his wrist and placed them behind his back, sighing a couple of times. “Bobby, . . . I think . . . Yes, why don’t we go somewhere private and talk.”

Damn it. What in the world had he done to warrant a private conversation? All he’d done was defend his mate. Not even touched the bastard. He would have killed him if he’d caught up to the man. But that would have been within his right. He had been stalking him. Threatened his mate. No one got away with doing such.

“Sure, come this way.” Bobby stood and led the way to the room that Tommy had decked out like a small office.

* * *

There were two small chairs in front of the desk that sat in front of a window that overlooked the backyard and the angel shaped garden pond. Beautiful sight. Soothing and perfect view for him to be scolded for something.

“Did I do something wrong?”

“No. No. Did not mean for you to think that. You where more than within your right to track that rogue down.” Alpha Kind went over to the chairs and sat down. “Come take a seat. This conversation has . . . Well it’s more of a personal questions than that related to the situation I was called about.”

Bobby’s limbs all but went limp, making him flop into the chair. He managed to sit down and stay upright in a proper seated position. His mind did question what Alpha Kind meant, but he knew better than to just blurt out a query. He might not have been raised in among Mixed Communities, but he’d lived in a pack his entire life and knew the etiquettes of such.

“I wanted to know . . . Would you like to learn how to combine your wolf sense with your vampire ones.”

He’d knew such was possible, but had no idea how much it would help him to do so, or how to do so. Would doing so aid him in protecting Tommy? “Will this increases my ability to protect my family?”

“It will.”

“Are you offering to teach me?”

“For a trade.”

Course he wanted something. Should have known. He was an alpha. Most never gave something without getting something. Daddy Simon wasn’t as bad as other Alphas he’d seen.

“What?”

“If you consider fighting fro the Second in Command position when you return from your honeymoon I will teach you how to use both senses.”

“Why would you want me as Second in Command.” He knew only one side of himself. Clear that Alpha Kind depended on both sides of his nature and demanded such out of his group.

Cal chased Stay over fallen logs and through bushes right to the stream that was deep in the woods behind the house. There they drank some water before they began their trek back to the house. Half way to the house, Cal sniffed Stay’s rear end, getting a soft whimper from him as he lowered himself to the ground and stuck his ass in the air. It was all Cal needed to mount him and take him. Afterwards the two of them lay beside each other and rested until the sunset. The two of them were just about to head home when Cal caught the scent of another wolf. He nudged Stay and the wolf picked up his speed, but the strange wolf kept gaining on them. Cal nudged Stay harder and he began to run. We where a half mile away from the house when a wait high gray wolf jumped out in front of Stay. Cal leapt over Stay, letting out several distress howls before he snarled at the stranger. He was ready to tear into the wolf, but first he wanted to know why the jackass was there and what he wanted. Didn’t seem like the gray wolf wanted to give him info. The wolf growled and crouched, readying to attack. Cal was ready for him, but Daddy Simon and Tony answered my distress howls. The wolf sniffed the air and then darted off in the opposite direction soon as Tony’s wolf appeared on his left side.

Cal nudged Tommy to him and then chased after the strange wolf. He heard the thuds of the guards paws behind him. He tracked the scent all the way to the stream, but lost it there. He was sure the wolf had chosen to travel through the stream to avoid leaving a scent trail. Which way he went from there was anyone’s guess. Cal shook his head and tossed it back towards the house when the guards gave him a questioning look.

Tony and Daddy Simon awaited me at the sliding glass door. They let me walk into the room, where Tommy sat on the bed wringing his hands. He jumped to his feet and rushed over, throwing his arms around him. Cal recede and left him holding a softly wheaping Tommy.

“It’s alright, baby. I’m fine. I’m perfectly fine.”

“Who was that, honey?”

He wished he knew. No one had the right to invade his terrriorty and scare his mate. Making him cry was the ultimate crime, beside harming him.

“Bobby,” Tony’s voice drew me away from inspecting Tommy for any sign of injury, even though he knew there was none. “Did you find anything? The guards said you lost his trail at the stream. Any other piece of information you picked up on?”

“Let me dress first.” He picked up his clothes from the foot of the bed and slid into them. “I discovered nothing that would help in telling me who he is. I will know his scent from now on. I do wish to thank you both for getting to us so quickly and watching over Tommy while I tracked him.”

“That is a plus.” Daddy Simon’s deep sigh told him he’d missed something else while tracking the mysterious wolf.

“What is it?”

“Alpha Kind called and is on his way over.”

“Why?”

“You know we were supposed to fill him in if anything arose, so I did as told.”

Right. Had not wanted him involved. There were too many hands in the pot. Tony. His guards. Alpha Kind. And him. All that needed to be involved was him and Tony and those Tony deemed necessary. Otherwise he was more than capable to take care of his mate. But rules had been stated and they had to be followed. Or so Tommy believed they did. From the deep frown on Tony’s face, he’d not been pleased with Tommy contacting Alpha Kind.

“He is also coming over to talk to you about something else.” Tony’s words held a bit of a bite to them. It set Bobby’s nerves on edge and had him standing up a bit taller.

“Baby, did he tell you what this was about?”

“No, honey.”

There was a bit of a waver to his voice. Any other time, Bobby would have said the man had lied to him, but Tommy had reason to be upset. He’d nearly been attacked while out with his mate on his own land. That’s freak anyone out.

“Then we wait to he gets here.”

Chapter 42

Bobby walked to the couch and dropped onto it. His mind swirled faster than his stomach which had bile rising up in it. He didn’t understand that. The news he’d gotten hadn’t been as bad as he’d thought. So why did he feel like he’d been through the ringer of an old style washing machine.

“Honey, you okay?”

Would be once his life quit spinning in every direction under the sun. Least in a couple of days he’d be married and that would be the most normal thing in the world. He couldn’t wait.

“Come on, honey, let’s go and rest.” He hated leaving Daddy Simon and Tony, but they were grown men and this was their home as well. They could entertain themselves.

Soon as the bedroom door shut, Bobby tugged Tommy into his chest and kissed the back of his neck, nuzzling it until all he could smell was Tommy’s wolf Stay. Perfect. Just what he needed that night. Time with his wolf mate. His wolf, Cal, was riding him hard and he needed to let him out or he’d go a bit crazy.

“Baby, you trying to start something?”

“What if I am?”

“Then we best go for a run.”

Bobby walked over to the sliding glass door and opened it wide enough for their wolves to enter and exit. “Come here, baby, let me strip you.”

Tommy came to him and held his arms up in the air. Bobby pulled the shirt up and over his head, kissing his bare chest and nipping each nipple before he let his hands roam his mate’s hard stomach. Once his hands knew his mate’s abs, he unsnaped the jeans and pushed them over Tommy’s hips, loving how his mate had gone commando. Even better was how his hard, thick cock jutted out, welcoming him. If he hadn’t had other plans, he would have feasted on that welcoming sight.

“Beautiful. Sexy. Amazing, baby.” He kissed him as he gave Tommy’s cock one stroke. “Change while I undress.”

He jerked his shirt over his head as Tommy let the change come over him and the body shifted forms. It was a miracle to watch. The speed at which it occurred was amazing. You would think it took awhile for the bones and muscles to realign and reshape into the animal shape of the wolf, but . . .

Stay walked up to him, sniffing his jeans and shook his head. “I know, baby. I’m changing.” He tugged his jeans down and then let the chain take him. Then they darted out the door.

Chapter 41

After the meal was over they all retired to the living room. Bobby, Tommy, and Tony took the sofa facing the living room door, giving them the perfect view of the entire room and out the window. Alpha Kind, Thomas and Lynn were forced to put their back to the door. Bobby was sure it put them on edge, but they remained quiet about it. Shocked him that Alpha Kind did not buck on it, but he knew the entire situation was tense to start with.

“Mr. Stake, I have to agree with you and Alpha Kind, young Tommy here is an amazing cook.” Thomas gave Tommy a small bow.

Bobby squeezed Tommy’s shoulders as he scooted further under his arm. His reddened face was cute and needed kissing, but the time was not right to do so.

“I think we need to get to any questions there might be.” Alpha Kind said. “Do you not agree Bobby?”

He did. The sooner this meeting was over the better. Bobby’s entire body shook and the food sat like a brick in his stomach. He’d not been able to enjoy the wonderful food Tommy had cook. Least he knew his mate had saved him some for later. He really did look out for him.

“What question do you have for us?” Thomas placed his hands on his knees.

“Sir, I really do not know. Until this came up, I had not considered meeting you. Don’t mean to sound disrespectful. It’s just dad and Daddy Simon gave me all I needed.”

He gave a weak smile and a small bow of the head. “Least I know you had a good life and the decision that was taken from us did not turn out horrible.”

Taken from us? What? How was given up a child taken from anyone? That made no sense.

“Excuse me? What do you mean by that?”

“When your mom got pregnant the Master at the time was her Uncle. He ordered us to put you up for adoption and to not think any more about it. We went into hiding, but he found us and locked us away until you were born. Took you straight away. We was not even allowed to hold you. Took me five days to get your mom to quit crying. That is why we always hoped you would want to know us.”

What in the world? How could . . . No one in their right mind would . . . It would have drove a Wolf Shifter insane to lose her child in such a manner. Did Vampire females not gain such a connection to their children? Guess they did if she cried for five days. Or sort of. Some kind at least. Lord have mercy. He’d been stolen from his parents. He never considered such. What did that mean for him? Did it change his feelings towards them? Should it? How hard had they tried to get him back? Had they at all?

“Bobby,” Alpha Kind held out a packet of papers. “Here is the proof what they say.”

His mind was racing. Took all his strength not to throw up right there in front of everyone. His body rigid. No way he could take what his Alpha offered. He could not even move his head to motion for Tommy to take them, but his mate was on top of things and reached for it. Through the corner of his eye, Bobby watched as Tommy read through each sheet. Then he laid them on the edge of his knee.

“Honey, looked at me.” He took hold of Bobby’s chin and forced him to look at him. “They are telling the truth.”

Those words done something to break Bobby’s frozen state. He leaned forward and gave his mate a light kiss on the cheek and took the papers from his lap and studied each sheet thoroughly. He might not have been concerned as to why his biological parents gave him up, but it broke his heart to know what his biological mother had suffered.

“Mrs. Timbers, I am truly sorry for what you went through. I would not wish this on any woman.”

Her smile as bright and her eyes shined with happiness as she appeared to study him. “Least I know my son had a good life like I always dreamed of.”

It was the softness and love that he heard in her voice that broke his barriers down about getting to know them and had him making the one offer he went into the meeting doubting he would make.

“I would like to get to know more about you, but I must ask this question.”

“Ask anything you wish?” Thomas and Lynn said at the same time.

“Could this ex-Master you spoke of be alive and threatening me?”

“No.” Thomas said. “He was killed two years after you were adopted.”

Okay, if he could not be the one, who else in their family might hold a grudge against him. “Tell me about the rest of the family and let’s see if we know any of them that might want to do me harm.”

Thomas went on to tell Bobby about his grandparents being dead and his one Uncle and his sons all being under the age of ten, but they lived in another country. He had an Aunt, who had lost a leg. Turned out he had a brother who was nineteen, two twelve year old sisters and his mom was expecting again. They had even brought pictures for him to see. Turned out his father’s gene was prominent in each one of them. What caught his attention was when they mentioned a black sheep.

“What do you mean?” Bobby asked when Lynn mentioned it.

“He just turned seventeen. We do not claim him because his actions are disloyal to both kinds. He went and showed his true self to three women that were pregnant with his children.”

“My god, these poor women.” Hadn’t meant to say it out loud. “Sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Timbers. That could not have been easy on you. Does he know about me?”

“Yes. We never hid your birth from any of our kids or parents.”

“Would he have a reason to want to hurt me?”

“Not that I’m aware of. He is the only one that is not in touch with our family.” If Mr. Stake can find anything we have missed we give him permission to search our entire life. We heard in three days you are getting married.”

Shit. He might have been sorry that he had been stolen from him and might be okay with getting to know them, but he wasn’t sure how much he wanted them in his life yet. “That is correct.”

“We wish we had time to stay and celebrate with you, but we have to get back home. I hope you understand.”

“I do.” Thank goodness. Bobby almost crumbled with relief. He wasn’t sure if he had wanted them there or not. Best thing he could offer them was his phone numbers so they could speak and get a base ground knowledge of each other. If it got more than that, then it would be later down the road. “Here are my phone numbers.” He jotted them down on a small piece of paper Tommy handed him.

They passed him a card with theirs on it and then said, “We would love for you two to get permission to come and see us.”

“We will see. It was great to meet you.”

It was then that Tony sprang to his feet and rushed around the couch, rushing into the hallway, tugging Daddy Simon into the room as he kissed him on the forehead. “You are back early.”

“I’m sorry for interrupting. I was going to slip by.”

Bobby smiled and went over to them and hugged Daddy Simon. “Daddy Simon, I’d like you to meet my biological father, Thomas, and my biological mother, Lynn Timbers. Thomas, Lynn, this is my Daddy Simon Tate.”

“Sir, we would like to thank you and your partner for raising him up so good and making sure he had all he needed.”

Daddy Simon’s face dropped a bit, but his voice was strong as he spoke. “I wish his dad could hear that from you, but he has taken his journey home. Me and him would give Bobby anything we could.”

“We hoped he had a great life.” They made their way toward he door with Alpha Kind intow. “Once again, congratulations on your relationship and upcoming marriage.”

Chapter 40

Bobby watched as Tommy sat the last china plate on the table. The house smelled of fresh pot roast and roasted potatoes with stewed veggies. He could not have fixed anything more soothing for what Bobby was sure was going to be a tense meal. The doorbell chimed through the entire house causing him to stiffen on the barstool he sat on. He watched as Tommy made his way over to him, but his full attention was locked onto the door that led to the hallway. Just outside the main door stood his birth parents. The people who gave him away. He would have to meet them. It had not been his choice. Sort of hadn’t been. Still, him and his wolf weren’t sure if they wanted to hear their excuse for giving him up. Not that he minded them doing so. He loved his dad and Daddy Simon.

“Honey, it’s going to be okay.” Tommy rubbed his back and gave him a kiss on the forehead. “Go wait for us in the living room.”

That sounded great. Bobby walked into the hallway with Tommy then parted way as he continued onto the main door. He went in and took a seat on the sofa that faced the living room door. Seconds later Alpha Kind and a tall, long blond haired man with a long black haired lady on his arm walked in. The man smelled of Wolf, where as the lady held a Vampire scent.

His insides crawled and swirled the longer the silence stretched out. Bobby was unsure what to say, but he knew someone had to break it. It was his house after all, so he stood and walked around the sofa. He held his hand out and said, “Baby, come here.” He wrapped his arm around Tommy and hoped he gave a friendly smile to the strangers.

“Alpha Kind, it is a pleasure to have you in our house today.”

“Great to see you both again.” He tilted his head at Tommy. “The house once again smell amazing, but I think it is time I make the introductions to Bobby, what do you think Tommy?”

“Alpha, I think that would be best.”

“Bobby, I’d like you to meet your biological father Thomas Bobby Timber and his wife Lucy Lynn Timber.”

What was he to say? Nice to finally meet you? Bluntly ask them why they dumped me at birth? His mouth felt like a cotton field had risen inside it. Still he managed to make a response. None of the blunt ones that came to mind. Guess that was a good thing.

“Nice to meet you. If you would like to eat while it’s hot, Tommy just took it out of the oven.”

“That sounds great, Bobby.” Thomas smiled at him. “It is alright if I call you that, isn’t it?”

“It is.” It was his name. No reason he could not address him by it. Everyone else did. He was just another shifter.

“Your Alpha said your mate is an excellent cook.”

“Have to say my nephew is.” Tony came walking up behind them, creating more ease through Bobby.

He wasn’t sure why, but for some reason Tony seemed to give him strength like no one else had. He’d not taken note of when it began, but the last couple times there’d been issues arise he’d felt his Vampire side rise in him. Beg for release. Beg to take control. Beg for dominance. Odd for that side of him to be prominent. Maybe it was the fact that Tony was a Vampire and being around him called to his Vampire side. Whatever the reason, Bobby wasn’t objecting to it. He’d always longed to have more interaction with his Vampire side. Who knew, it might have been the fact that he was now involved in a Mixed Group instead of a full out Wolf Pack.

“The dining room is this way,” Tommy waved his hand down the hallway and then began moving them towards it. The rest fell in step behind us, with Tony taking up the end of the line with Alpha Kind.

Chapter 39

Supper went great. Alpha Kind was a great man and had a extremely nice and beautiful wife. Bobby just wished the mouth watering steamed fish Tommy had fixed had lessened the tension that clung to every one of his muscles. Tommy must have picked up on his predicament, because after Alpha Kind and his wife left, he took him out to the jacuzzi. They spent about half an hour holding in each other in the amazing water, letting the jets beat against them. It helped, but what did more good was when Tommy drug him to the bed and had him lay on his stomach, promising him an amazing massage.

Bobby was face down on the bed when hands started caressing his body. Soothing, hot oil seeped into his loosening muscles. Soft kisses at the base of his neck sent shivers over his body just as hot air brushed across his ears.

“Get on all four, honey.”

“Oh, my baby wants me tonight.”

“Yeah. It will help relax my man.”

Tommy was right. Feeling his man take him was just what he needed. He maneuvered until he was kneeling in the middle of the bed, but before he got position a soft tipped finger fluttered across his pucker, pressing until his hole sucked it in. A loud moan slipped from him as Tommy’s finger went knuckle deep.

“Baby . . . Feels amazing.”

“See how you like this.”

The finger slipped out and in its place was Tommy’s long, hard shaft. He slowly entered me, giving me a moment to adjust to each inch he moved deeper. Moans and groans flowed from him as the intense connection between them grew. He knew taking Tommy was intense, but he never knew how much of a connection Tommy felt to him when he was buried deep inside him. If Tommy felt half of the emotion he felt while Tommy was deep inside him the two of them would never part.

“This is fucking amazing, baby. Oh shit!” Bobby shouted as Tommy’s cock head hit his prostrate. “Hell yeah, baby. That is what I want.”

Tommy’s move was slow to start with, but it felt great to have Tommy making slow love to him. Bobby had taken Tommy many times. Fast. Hard. Slow. Easy. Combination of both, but it felt amazing to have his mate making love to him. Together they got lost in each the magic of each other and before he knew it, Tommy was grunting and groaning and slamming in balls deep, holding still just as he erupted deep in him.

Chapter 38

Bobby and Tommy had just gotten the groceries put away when the doorbell rang. Tommy sat down the green cloth grocery bag he’d been folding and made his way down the hallway. Bobby kept right on folding the other bag and was storing them when Tommy returned with the Master of Wolves and Alpha Kind.

“Gentlemen,” Bobby gave them each a bow and wrapped his arm around Tommy’s waist when he came back to his side. “Alpha Kind, was not expecting you until this evening. I assumed this visit has to do with our discussion last night.”

“That is correct, Bobby.” Alpha Kind pulled out a barstool and sat down.

The Master of Wolves began walking around the kitchen, running his fingers over some of Tony’s small knickknack. He paused over a set of wolves salt and pepper shakers. He picked them up, tilting them from side to side. He sat them back down and faced Bobby. “Bobby, your parents want to meet you.”

Course they did. He knew they would since he had no idea if he wanted to meet them. He did not want to hear their excuse for giving him up. He had a great life, so it did not matter to him why they chose to shift their responsibility to someone else. He had a wonderful dad and Daddy Simon was spectacular even after he lost his mate.

“Bobby,” Alpha Kind tapped his knuckle on the top of the island. “If this is not what you want, then I will refuse them the right to my grounds.”

Tommy tightened his arms around him and let his head rest on against his shoulder. His steady breathing eased my racing mind. It was going back and forth between booting their request to the curb and telling the Master of Wolves to bring them right over just to get the entire bullshit over with. What would his dad expect him to do? Not be a jerk. That’s what. Meant he’d want him to listen to them. And that meant meeting them.

“Alpha Kind, I will meet with them at least once. More than that I can  not promise.”

“Acceptable. Since your wedding days are in two days and our supper is tonight, I will bring them over tomorrow for lunch. Before I leave then, you can tell me what two cities you will spend your honeymoon in.”

“Alpha Kind, we can tell you that now if you would like.” Tommy and him had discussed it in great detail before they fell asleep last night. Kind of an easier decision than he expected. The two of them were on the same page. Made him believe that choosing him as his mate was indeed the perfect thing.

“I’d love to know.”

“Our first week will be spent in Beverly Hills. Second one, in Aspen.”

“You will love both places. I promise.” Alpha Kind stood and waved the Master of Wolves back into the hallway. “I will see you guys at supper.”

Chapter 37

Tommy kept Bobby from falling off the couch and managed to do so own his own when Uncle Tony asked the Master of Wolves for aid. His Uncle never went to anyone. He did it on his own. Sure he had already done so, so what was his end game.

“Uncle Tony, you know if you find his family on your own he will know it is you.”

“Done found them and spoken to them. They have been hoping he would contact them.”

Bobby’s growled and leapt up and ran out of the room. Expected to hear doors slam, but none came. His mate was in pain. Deep pain. They’d had fun at the party and enjoyed their ride to and from. Bobby and him had been in a state of peace and ease. Something they’d not experienced in several days. Of course, Uncle had to go and destroy it.

“Uncle, I could kill you myself.”

“Tommy, let Bobby run it off.” Simon said. “He will be back soon.”

“Mr. Tate, how could you let Uncle do this if you knew he would react this way.”

“I want my son safe.”

Far as I cared both men needed their asses kicked. They should have come to Bobby and asked before they reached out to his biological parents. Asked him if that’s what he wanted. It was clear from his reaction that Bobby either never wanted to see them or had never considered doing so. Either case, it wasn’t a decision for someone to take from him.

“From this point on, both of you will let Bobby make the decision rather he wants to meet them or not. It is not your place to promise such. It is not your place to make such decisions. It was not your place to reach out to them. It was not your place to open his file without his permission. You will not promise them one tiny thing without asking him. Are we clear Uncle?”

“Yes.”

“Swear it on your position among the Mob.” It was the only promise my Uncle would uphold and Tommy knew it.

“Damn it, Tommy.”

“Do it.”

“Fine. Fine. I promise on the top position among the Stakes Mob that I will make no other decision regarding Bobby and his biological family.”

Tommy stood and sighed. “Excuse me, my mate is going to need me.” He made his way to their room to find him sitting at their sliding door. He opened it and Bobby’s wolf made two steps inside, collapsing against my legs, shifting.

“Sorry, I reacted that way. They kept throwing me off guard. I don’t . . . Hell . . . I never wanted to know my real parents. Now they are going to expect it. What if they have no good reason for giving me up? What do I do then?”

His heart ached for his mate. For anyone who found themselves in Bobby’s situation. There were people who had no choice but to put their children up for adoption. But way too many were just given away or taken because the mother, or both parents, would not give up their vice of choice to take care of the life they brought into the world.

“What am I going to do, baby?”

“You tell them nice to meet you and we leave and let Uncle handle the rest. If you don’t want to meet them at all . . . You let Uncle handle it from the start.”

He wrapped his arms around Bobby and tugged him close to him, running his hands up and down his back. There had been so much taking place and his strong, loving, protective mate had stood strong and solid through it all. Rolled with ever punch that came his way. Uncle threw the one thing at him that he could not grasp and Tommy understood why. If he had been in his spot he might have gotten up and decked Uncle for interfering without requesting permission. Uncle cared deeply about those he loved, but he always overstepped boundaries and never even knew he did so. Most the time did not care he did so.

“Let me dress and we will rejoin our family.”

“Alright, honey.”

They walked back to the living room arm in arm. Bobby was once again standing tall and had his solid, ready to face the world face in place. He led them right back to their previous seats and once again had Tommy take the furtherest seat. Tommy’s man would always put himself in the line of fire for him.

“Sorry for my reaction.”

“Honey, you have nothing to apologize for.” He wasn’t going to let them make him think he did. Uncle overstepped. So had Simon.

“Sorry, son. I knew I should have asked first, but I am scared for you and that is the only others I can think of.”

“It’s fine.”

Far from it, but Tommy knew his man would forgive Simon for anything he done to him. He loved his Daddy as much as he loved his Uncle.

“Just don’t promise them I will see them. I don’t know how I feel about that.”

“I won’t.”

“Tommy has already told Tony how things will go.”

Tommy’s cheeks heated when Bobby glanced his way. “What? I know how to handle a misbehaving mob boss.” The entire room erupted into laughter. “Let’s get some sleep. I have to be up earlier to get to the store for tomorrow night’s meal.”

Chapter 36

Bobby’s entire body tensed when they pulled up outside Tommy’s house. Three limo’s sat. The extra one made no sense. It was late for visitors. He took hold of Tommy’s hand soon as they got off the bike and he all but forced him to walk behind him. His stomach plummeted when they entered and found Daddy Simon and Tony entertaining the the Master of Wolves. Both of them dropped to their knees and offered their necks.

“Get up, there is no need for such.” Master of Wolves voice held sternness that always put shivers across everyone’s back, or so others wolves had told Bobby. He’d never felt such from him. He’d always tossed it up to being Mixed. “I came down to calm Alpha Tate and Mr. Stake, only to discover that Alpha Tate is stepping down.” The scowl on the Master’s face unnerved Bobby, which is why he placed his hand on his hip and gave it a slight push when they got to the sofa across from the Master of Wolves. He did not want his mate sitting across from someone on the edge of control. “Fill me in.”

The dead on stare and command might have stirred me into action any other time, but the Master of Wolves no longer held control over him and Tommy. They were in a Mixed Breed Group. They answered to their Group Leader and whoever lead over them. He had to ask Alpha Kind how to address such and who that was.

“Excuse me, Master, but we must let our Group Leader know you are here.”

“Your what, Mr. Timbers?” He glanced at Simon and Tony who both nodded. His frown grew as he sighed. “Do it quickly and tell him to listen by speaker phone.”

“Yes, Master.” Bobby quickly dialed Alpha Kind’s number and explained what they had walked into. Once he had permission he placed the call onto speaker. “Master, he is on speaker.”

“Who am I speaking with?”

“Master, this is Alpha Kind, of Wolf/Vamp  Group.”

“Something else to be explained.” Master muttered. “Let’s start with Alpha Tate. Why are you stepping down.”

Daddy Simon sat up taller and squared his shoulders, but for the first time in his life, Bobby saw something he’d never seen. Regret.

“Once you require Mixed Breed to register I will lose my position because me and my first mate adopted our son Bobby is a Wolf/Vamp mix.”

Daddy Simon never showed any sign, even if it had flirted across his eyes and then vanished, of regret when talking about his state of being mixed. Why now? Because it was taking his position away from him? Daddy Simon told him earlier it did not bother him. He was going to go to the man he’d wanted to be with since Dad died. He had been an Alpha when him and dad adopted him. If it bothered him in the least bit then why had he given for such an adoption. Why was such a fleeting moment bothering me?

“Okay. See where Alpha Kind comes into play. I can tell that Bobby Timbers and Tommy Stake are mates.” Master of Wolves tapped the side of his legs a moment or two then gave a curt nod as if he answered a question. “Why would you step down before you had to?”

Daddy Simon glanced at Tony and gave one of his famous smiles. “I want to live with the one I chose after my mate was killed.”

“Is that why Tony Stake is here?”

“Yes, Master. Partly.” Tony crossed his leg over his knee.

“Now, there’s some kind of threat against one of you still.”

“Yes.” Tony lifted Daddy Simon’s hand and gave it a small kiss. “We have yet to figure out who or why.”

“What can I do to assist?”

“We feel it is coming from Bobby’s biological parents and have no legal way to get that information.”

Bobby sat forward so fast he all but fell ontop of the coffee table. He might have if Tommy hadn’t threw his arm across his chest. As it was, he broke protocol and spoke, more like shouted, over all the high ranking people gathered.

“What!”

“Mr. Timbers.” Alpha Kind’s scold came across loud and clear and had him bowing his head.

“Sorry, Sirs.” His apology went unnoticed.

“You are asking me to open his file.”

“Yes, Master of Wolves.” Tony replied, stealing what little breath was left in Bobby’s chest.

“You know, Tony Stake, this is a first for you.” Master of Wolves comment only earned him a short lived shrug. “It is that reason alone I wish I could do as you wish, but unless they say I can I have no way to do so.” He held his hand up before Tony could respond. “I will get in touch with them and let you know what they say by tomorrow.”

The Master of Wolves dismissed Alpha Kind and then said his goodbyes to us as he left to tend to a shit load of business, as he said. Bobby wasn’t sure if he cared if he did or not. He cared less if his biological information was discovered or not. He’d had years to open those records and never had an inkling to do so. He knew who his parents were and wanted nothing to do with those who threw him away.
