Chapter 5

“Thought you could use me in some fashion.”

“You’ve never supported what I’ve done.”

“Might not agree with what you’ve done in the name of the Royal Blood Sociey, but I do not want to see what you have worked so hard to achieve over the years destroyed.”

They’d had the discussion about how the Royal Blood Society’s decision to take over the world and have all humans turn Vampire was a stupid plan many times. Javis had never openly agreed with Alexander, and never would, but it meant a hell of a lot that his one and only Vampire friend came to his aid to help him keep what he worked hard for. He might not even agree with all that the Royal Blood Society has had him do, but he did what he was ordered.

“I’ve known you for hundreds of years . . .” Alexander leaned forward in his chair, locking eyes with him. “And I know that you are only doing as ordered. If you had not been ordered to, you would not have doomed a race to a future of extention. None of us would. It is a hair brain idea, that only an old, old fool like Dracula would come up with.” He shook his head. “But . . . I will not sit by and let all your hard work go down the drain. So to speek. Never understood all the slang that comes around each generations. So far from our era of life. Anyway,” Alexander sat back up. “Not sure how I can help, but put me to work.”

“Not sure either.” There was way more he could say to Alexander’s little speech, but he could not do so, which was why he snagged onto the part that he could. “I’ve got Mateo digging into Enapay’s, that’s the speaker’s name, past. Hunting for anything I can use to manupliate or control him.”

“Control?” Alexander lifted one eyebrow. “Is that what you truly want to do with the man?”

Did he? What he wanted was for the guy to change his speeches. Never have given such a truth filled one. One that hit him in the heart as much as that one had.

“Controling humans is never a good thing. Believe me, I know. Learned the fucking hardway.”

The ticking right eye had Javis lenaing forward and bracing his hands on Alexander’s knees. “Just how do you know?”

“Doesn’t matter. We are here to help you.”

“Can’t do much until I have more information on him. That’s why Juilan is so pissed at me canceling the interview I’d initially agreed to.”

“Shitty of you, but smart to.”

Javis knew Alexander thought he got by without answering, but far from it. He’d jsut have to approach the topic a different way.

“Dirt is the best way to gain the upper hand on someone and either blackmail them into doing as one wishes or use it as a way control  their actions and thoughts.”

“That’s not who you are. I know its not.”

Alexander was right. Javis despised forcing others into spots where they had to do as told to save face, but he’d done it many times over the years. Then gone to his private confesor and laid out his crimes against his own soul. Each time his confesor told him his soul was not stained or tarnished by manupliating someone into doing what was necessary to achieve the ultimate goal of the Royal Blood Society, especially when the humans literally taught a class on how to do so. That reminded him that such actions came along with the game of politics. An aspect he had hoped to avoid. Tried hard to, but hell his confessor had been correct. The off campus group he discovered at college that proclaimed they taught how to gather information about people turned out to be way much more. Oh, they taught one how to gather dirt on people, but then they taught how to use it to gain the outcome one desired. Wasn’t jsut a group of people gathered to learn some off the hand technique. Nope. Once you gained all the knowledge they offered the attendees left with a full fledge certification in Manuplition and Control that went right along with the Politcial Science degree. Was just a part of the degree that was not spoken about on campus or to anyone outside of the degree seekers of Politcial Sciene. He’d like to say he bolted from the room the moment he realized what was taking place, but . . .

Still, Alexander was right. He wasn’t someone who immediately went to controling and manuplating others to gain the upper hand. But that’s exactly what he was doing. Wasn’t it? He’d sent Mateo to seek out dirt on Enapay so he could decide on how to come out on top of the guy’s speech. A speech he had all the right in the world to give. He broke no law. World still had free will and free speech. That hadn’t change and would never do so. Not even if he was ordered to do dismiss such. He could never go that far. Dracula wasn’t that cruel. But he was cruel enough to send someone in undercover to . . .

“Isn’t that what I’ve been doing since the Royal Blood Society sent me here?”

“No. You’ve been doing your job. Like any of us would have had to do. Even me, if you guy’s had ordered me to do so.” Thank the fuck the Royal Blood Society had not came to him, was more than stated on his pinking cheeks. “It can’t be controlling and manupliation if you are doing as told. That means you are doing as others tell you, not what you wish and I know that you would never have made it so humans and vampires lived openly among each other. Not after what . . .”

That’s what the control talk had been about. How had he not realized it to start with. Alexander and William had been sound asleep when the humans invaded his castel and lands. They came at him like he was some kind of monster all because one of his stall workers spoke about him collecting the blood of a horse that had broken his ankel and was going to have to be put down. Alexander had never been one to feed off humans. His Sire taught him to survive off of animal blood to start with and that’s what he had became accustom to. Not a bad choice as times became more equiped with survilance everywhere . Still, the same people that Alexander had spent lots of time around and helped many times  became fearful of him and dreamed up all kinds of monsterous thoughts about him. A group of men gathered with stakes and torches, storming his caastel. Somehow the it caught fire. He swore he woke soon as the smoke flowed into the room, but the problem was that William was known for getting up in the middle of the night and going to read in the living room, only to fall back to sleep in his favorite chair. Alexander was unable to get into the room because the blaze had consumed it. He was forced to leave their home without his Heart Owner. The next morning after the fire had died out, he made his way into the ruble of his home and found William’s body sitting in what was left of his favorite chair. Alexander had spent the next five months seeking out the truth about why his home and heart had been destroyed. He exacted revenge on each of the humans that stormed his place and the human that spoke of what he saw while working. After that, he disappeared into the safety of the high mountains, where only a select few Vampires knew the location of and he never interacted with humans again. It had taken Javis months to convince him that he would limit the number of humans he would have to interact with when he came to visit. Over the years, his adversion of humans faded and he begin to have fun finding way to trick the humans and show them how weak they truly were around Vampires. Still, he did not think that Vampires and humans should live together.

“What do you suggest I do, if not hold something over his head? Do you not think what he accused me of is the truth?”

“Somewhat, but I’m sure that if anyone could make things work between humans and Vampires you could. Just not the way that you have been directed to do so. Have you truly agreed with every decision the Royal Blood Society has made? Every order they have given you? Were they ones you would have made?” He didn’t give Javis time to answer. “I think not. Know not. If you had been given free reign to do what was best for Vampires and humans you would have taken an entirely different route than enforcing this future extinction of the human race.”

Chapter 4

“It took some manuvering, but I managed to get the interview setup for thirty minutes from now.” Julian and his whirlwind self rushed in with an army of people instep behind him with their arms full of cloth bags and makeup kits.

“Will be a fast job, but we can make sure he has the right apperance for a man who never wiggled his way into anyone’s way of life.”

Javis might have laughed at the hairstylist if her words hadn’t been full of truth.

“Jessica, he never done such.” Juilan rolled his eyes as he laid his hand on Javis’s arm. “Andy Candyman was thrilled to be contacted. I’ve given him the list of questions that are acceptable. All will enhance all the good you have done in your political career since you came onto the scene.”

“Julian, you need to call all this off.” He jerked his arm from him and stepped back from the grasp of one of the group of people who Juilan brought in.

“What do you mean? We talked about this. We have to get ahead of this man’s negativity.”

“Yes, but . . . things have changed.”

“Did someone go back in time?”

Oh boy. Here he goes.

“Didn’t think so. Did someone already rebuke the speaker’s negative points?”

“No.”

“Then we have to.”

“We are not going to at this time.”

“We agreed we were.”

“I need time.”

“Why?”

Mother said so. Couldn’t say that. Shouldn’t have to tell him that Mateo needed time to dig into his background. He knew the man was being brought into the fray.

“We have to dispute what he said.”

How did he expect him to do that? The man said nothing but the truth. Every word. Couldn’t rebuke words of pure trurth. What did Juilan want him to do, get up there and tell the world that he had infiltrated the Senate in order to get his kind a foothold on the government. Or so that he could one day run for the President position and change it to the Commander and Chief and announce that Vampires live among the humans and had control of their government.

“You have to make a stand againsit what he said.”

Not according to his Mother. She said for him to keep himself quiet until Dracula gave him a route to take. He agreed with keeping his mouth shut, but only until he knew more about Enapay Chavos.

“You know what has to be done. Do it and be done with it. You have to.”

Damn it. Why did Julian think he had to do anything? He’d done what everyone said all his life. Only one he had to listen to was the Royal Blood Society. Not a little weasle of a human.

“Evreyone out!” He pointed at the door as he sidestepped the reach of another person’s grasp.

Thankfully, the group that had accompanied Juilian knew he meant business and rushed to the door, leaving behind their garment bags and makeup boxes. Juilan paid his outburst no attention. He kept right on scrolling through something on his phone.

“Why’d you do that?”

“Told you, press conference is off.”

“Told you it wasn’t.”

“You are going to stop whatever you are doing and call Andy Candyman and tell him that the Commander and Chief has decided not to respond to Mr. Enapay Chavos’ earlier televised speech.”

“The hell I will. Do you konw what Andy will do with such a statement?”

He could see the headline. COMMANDER AND CHEIF REFUSES TO RESPONDS. HOW MUCH TRUTH DOES CHAVOS KNOW.

“Let him run with what he wants. I am making no response until I have more details on Chavos. Until then . . . our lips are sealed. Bottom line.”

“It can not be.”

“It is.” Javis toed a makeup box that had been sat at the foot of the chair in front of his chair. “Get all this crap out of my office.”

“You can not do this, Sir.”

“Can do what I wish. I am Commander and Cheif of the United States. I can take a shit on live television if I wish.”

“Sir, if you do this you will destroy over half of your approval ratings.” Juilan tugged at the end of his perfectly styled hair. “You do not want that to happen. You have to keep the people on your side. You know that.”

“I know exactly what I have to and what I do not have to do.” He jab his finger at the door. “Interview is a no. Get this crap out of my office. And you go with it.”

“Sir, this is not the best course of action to take. We have to keep appara - -”

He rached down, grabbing some kind of heavy metal compartmentalized box that had scraves and feathers hanging half out of it and slung it across the room, right into the photo of Geroge Washington. The glass splitterned, leaving behind spiderwebs across his face and large cracks down his chest and arms. Would be the perfect manner of treatment for Juilan if he kept on telling him what he had to do. He was the one with the Political Science degree. He was the one that had put together a team that got him voted into a small town mayoral position and then right into a Senator’s seats all within a two year span. Two years after that, his selected team had him on the presidental ballat. It wasn’t until he’d signed the new laws into effect that he brought Juilan into the mix of things to help with the Social Media aspects. He was sure that whatever arose from the one speech that Enapay Chavos made could be handled by his closest crew.

“I do as I please when I please and at the behest of no one. Now get yourself and all this stuff out of this room.”

He was done fooling around with Social Presence assholes. They knew very little about him and he cared less about them than he did a rabbit in the forest. Javis pointed at the tall, brooding Secret Service Guard at the door and told him to find Elijah. Elijah wouldn’t be far away. Fact, he was most likely outside the door listening in, awaiting for him to be called in to take care of the annoying Julian.

He wasn’t far off bass. Elijah swantered into the room and right up to Juilan. He cocked his head and gave it a shake. “Julian,” Elijah’s soothing voice eased the rage that Julian’s pushing had ingitated. “Time for your and your swirling storm of a mess to leave and let the Commander and Cheif handle his next meeting.”

“His next meeting is with - -”

“That wasn’t a request.” Elijah waved at someone at the door. “Help gather this stuff and escort him and it out. The Commander and Chief has a meeting to get to.” Elijah skirted around Julian as a Secret Serive Guard gripped his arm and tugged him towards the door. “Sir, are you ready to go to the Office and meet with Mr. William.”

Ah . . . Alexander. He’d not seen his one and only Vampire friend in months. Oh, he had many so called Vampire friends among the world, but none of them were as faithful to him as Alexander had been. They known each other for over eight hundred years and suffered together during some of their tuffest trials and tribulations. One being when Alexander lost his one and ture love, his Heart Owner. It had all but taken him from this world. It might have any other Vampire, but Alexander was Sired by Dracula’s baby brother. Don’t mean Vampire brother either. His human brother, who Dracula had turned into a Vampire when he all but died on the battle field at the age of sixteen. The tale goes that William carried as much strength and skills as Dracula. That once or twice the two had gone at each other and the fights ended in draws, both succeeding to live another day. Always wondered why Alexander refused to be on the Royal Blood Society. He’d asked Alexander several times and the man ignored him every time. He was sure there was a stroy between him and Dracula, but he doubted it’d ever be unearthed by him.

“Thank you, Elijah.” Javis took in a huge breath, loving the space that had once again consumed his living room. “But is Alexander really here. Did not think he was coming any time soon.”

“He arrived about five minutes ago. Came in through the back.” Elijah chuckled. “Pissed the Secert Security Guards off.”

“He always does.”

Man loved to ruffle those guy’s feathers. Let them know that it did not matter how many guards they put on him, that a Vampire would get by them if they desired to. Spoke volumes to the state that Julian and his little prep crew had driven Javis into that he had not taken note that Alexander had arrived.

“Did you get him settled?”

“Got him his favorite leapord blood and let him into the office untili I came and rescued you.”

“Thanks for that, by the way.”

“He really riled you up, didn’t he?” Julian was known for getting on his last nerve, but he’d never driven him to the point of throwing things while in front of people. “Least your tantrum was a human type one.”

“What’s that mean?”

“It means,” Alexander snorted, “that you have been around them for way too fucking long.”

“Hey, watch that.” Elijah snorted. “I might take it that you despise me.”

“I might. You are one of them.”

“Yeah, but you prefer not to chow down on us.”

“That I do, little human. That I do.”

“You two have a nice visit. I’ll run interference until you guys are done.”

“Thanks, Elijah.” Javis nodded his way as he left the room. He went over to the bar and small fridge he kept in his office. He tugged free a bag of O Positive that he kept there for him. Unlike his best Vampire Friend, he prefered human blood over animal blood. Most thought he lived off of animal blood, and when he was in public and had to eat, he did consume the vile stuff, but in his own home . . . blood banks provided him with human blood. “What do I owe this unexpected, but greatly appreciated visit.”

Chapter 3

 “Saw the threatening jackass.”

Also blunt Mateo made Javis’ heart sing. He never pulled any punches with what he thought about a single person or how they handled a matter. He knew when to dig in deep on a threat to him or when someone was being tossed under the rug. That one statement told Javis just what Mateo thought of the man who spilled all the truthful vile about Javis.

“How do you wish to handle this? Straight through the media or on the down low?”

“Down low. Let’s get all the dirt we can before we face-off with him.”

“Always the best to go at him with amunition.”

“And away from the media.”

Javis didn’t mind the media, in some areas it held just what the world required, but when someone spilled vileness about him, he needed it only when he had the proof to disbute the bastard. That required indepth details on the man and facts that would break what he said. Hard to do when what he said was the truth. That being the case, meant he had to break the man’s feeling on him and have him change his feelings about him in front of the right people at the right time. Didn’t mean the bastard had to do so willingly.

“Let’s see what we can find on him.” Mateo clasped his hands and pressed them out away from his chest. “The computer might give us a starting place, but I’m sure I’ll have to do some manual digging as well.”

“How long will that take?”

“Unsure. Varies from case to case.”

Words he’d heard before. Many times when Mateo’s team came into play. Irked him then and right then . . . Pissed him the fuck off.

“Deadline would be best.”

“Can’t give you one.”

“Can, but won’t.”

“Right.”

“Why?”

“Because I might have to break it or change it. Both of which would tick you off. Not a great thing to have a Vampire, espcially the Commander and Cheif, mad at you.”

Words sounded full of truth and solid as any thing he’d ever heard before. Problem was . . . he knew Mateo was joking with him. Yet, he might not be.

“Here we go.” Mateo turned the computer so it faced me. “Facial Recongiztion id’s him as Enapay Chavos. He’s twenty-five. born to Kyle and Jessica Chavos.” The computer was whipped back around and the keystrokes filled the room as Javis let those three basic facts play over and over in his mind. “There’s a marriage certificate for Kyle and Jessia Chavos, dated some around . . . twenty-five years ago. There is two birth certificates linked to them. One for a Shawn Andrew Chavos who would have been been around 2006 and then there is Enapay Calvin Chavos who is twenty five.” Man had not looked older than eighteen. Had a solid air of youth attached to his rounded face and feathered back red-hair. “Shit. Man has had a hard life.”

“What’s that mean?”

“There are three death certificttes attached to him as well. His paretns and his brother.”

“What happened?”

“A fire left behind a seventeen year old Enapay Chavos.”

If his parents died when he was seventeen that meant . . . eight years ago. Right after he inserted the Vampire Choice Law. It had been one of his first three Government Laws he put into effect when he became Commander and Cheif. First has been to change his status to the Commander and Cheif. Second had been to divide the States into Sectors that would be lead by Vampires, revealing his kind to the entire world. That meant that his paretns had to have chosen a Vampire or been changed by him. And he knew every name and face of the people who he sired. They were not his.

“Who do they belong to?”

“No one.”

“What?”

“Apparently . . .” Mateo pointed at the screen, “there was nothing left of their bodies to save.”

“How did this guy survive a fire that eliminated his entier family?”

“He was at a friends house.” Mateo shook his head. “Kid . . . wouldn’t call him that. He’s a genius. There’s an article that was written five years ago in his hometown newspaper about how he got himself emacipated four months after their deaths and finished school two months later to go onto MIT and got his Master in Engineering and minored in Computer Science. All within four years.”

“That’s a lot of basic info. Can yoiu go deeper?”

“Sure. Just not on your computer.” Mateo sat back in the chair. “Best I can tell you from this one is that he disappears from this point on.”

“No one disappears these days. Social Meida is everywhere.”

“You are right, but . . . I’ve ran the best scan I can on this computer to search every social media site possible for his face, but there’s no sighting of him in over the last year and half.”

“That’s . . . strange.”

“I’m sure he’s out there. Just need to get to my computers and dig down deeper. More time. Wherever he’s been hiding, I can find him and his hiding place. Promise.”

“How much time will it take?”

“Don’t konw. Day. Two. Week. Month. Get it done as fast as I can.” He slapped his legs and got up. “Promise.”

He knew Mateo would. Man never failed him. He wouldn’t start. Problem was . . . he’d told Julian to setup the press conference. Julian woudl be pissed at him for changing his mind. More so for telling him he was going to remain out of sight indefinitely. Let the guy continue to spill his vileness until he was ready to strike back. Juilan would throw one of his world renouwned fits, but he’d get over it.

“Get to work. I’ll hold off Juilan.” Unsure how. Man could be a feen when he desired to get ahead of a preceived major issue.

Chapter 2

“Miss . . . I know, but . . . We wanted to . . . Yes, Miss, but Javis wished me to reach out to . . .”

Typical Mother to cut Elijah off at every corner of his explanation. She despised him. Never understood his friendship with him. Most Vampires didn’t. Not that he interacted with many Vampires on a day-to-day basis. Most of his exchanges came about with the humans. All his home staff was human. All his political staff was as well. Only Vampires that he had relations with where the Sector Vampire Governors he appointed. They met about six times a year to give reports on each sector and update him on how many humans among thier Sector refused to choose a Vampire or sign an agreement with the Vampire Governor or Commander of Chief.

“. . . Yes, Miss, but the speech was broadcast across the entire United States. Our people tried to cut it off. The gentleman somehow blocked us.”

Said something about the darling young man’s ablities. Or whoever helped him. Either way . . . The guy managed to get his message out there. Correct one too. He’s stated nothing but pure truth.

Javis had begun deceiving the human race some fifteen years ago at the command of Dracula. He’d infiltrated their world by entering college and gaining his Bachachols Desgree in Political Sience. From there, he got himself a following and work his way up the ranks, staring as a Mayor of some small town in South Dakota right next to the Black Hill Mountain, taking it from a small nothing of a community to a major tourist town. From there he’d gotten the Senate seat and began setting into motion laws that would help change the world into a more Vampire friendly world. His biggest shift while in the Senate had been when he got rid of the two-term president term. Lots of humans thought he would never succeed, but he got way more votes than he needed and all without using any Vampire skills. In fact, he never once had to use his mesmerizing skills to earn a change among the world.

“Yes, Miss. I understand, Miss.”

Elijah would be stuck telling his Mother a thousand times that he understood whatever she said. He should be ashamed for having Elijah reach out to his Mother, but he was going to have to deal with Mateo as soon as he arrived. They had to stop this guy’s plot of destruction. Whatever it was. Was it one? Could it be one, if he was not lying? And he wasn’t.

Dracula’s plan would bring upon the extension of the human race, at some point in the far future. Javis had tried to explain this to his Mother and one other Royal Blood Society member, but they both told him it did not concern them. They were humans and none concern of theirs, and they did as Dracula said. The vote had been taken and Dracula’s plan had been approved and he agreed to it. He had. Why though? He knew even then that it was a heartless act. Dracula failed, or did not care, to take into account that the Vampires could live beside the humans in cohesion. Javis had brought up a plan for such but Dracula laughed at it and tore up the entire pitch he’d written up. Was an amazing pitch. In it, he’d had it so the Vampires could one by one announce themselves to the public, showing how they’d lived beside humans all these years in peace. The biggest part of his peaceful reveal was that him and several other Vampires gain positions among the government structure and then announce their true side as the others showed the humans how they’d lived beside them while others had held government positions and helped make laws and enforced them.

History had proven we could live among them without changing the entire structure of the United States and taking over the entire World. Dracula and his power crazy mind was all that had came into play, but he still remained in the background. Why did he do that? Made no sense for him to do so. Just like it made no sense for each of the Royal Blood Society members to jsut cave into whatever he said. We each had a voice and a vote. All we had to do was say what we truly desired. Why had he not done so? Why had he not refused to be the one to become the Commander and Chief and turn the entire United States on its head? Why had he just done like he always done, given Dracla what he wished? Yes, he could see how some things required changing for them to live among the humans and feed from them, or those who wished to feed from humans.

“Yes, Miss, I’ll make sure he knows to wait for Dracula to contact him before he makes a single move. Yes, Miss, he knows to follow all the Society’s rules. Yes, Miss, he knows what is at stake.”

Mother and her reminders. Grated his nerves, but he was sure she saw how some of Dracula’s wild hair ideas have gotten on his nerves the last few years. Guess she feared he would stray and the results that would create.

What would happen if he chose to go his own way? Would Dracula take it out on his Mother as well as him? Just him? Entire Royal Blood Society? How would he punish them? He had locked some Vampires in casket wrapped in silver chains for centuries for disobeties. That might be why no one ever went against him.

“Javis,” Elijah’s soft touch on the arm, drew away from his trainwreck of thoughts. “Your Mother says that supper needs to wait until her Father can join and give his thoughts on the situation you two where going to discuss. I’m unsure if Julian will agree with her approach.”

He knew his Head of Social Presence would throw a fit until he lived up to his inital response of ‘set up the press conference’. He had known what needed to be done and started the process that would keep Dracula’s plan alive. He never expected his Mother to stall him. Knew it would take time for them to reach out to him, whihc would leave him the right to take control. His Mother giving him such directions meant he had to do as she said, but if he did . . .

“You know what that will do, don’t you?”

Elijah might just be his Personal Assistant, but he had his Bachalor’s in Poclitcal Science as well. He’d been instrumental in getting him into the spot he was in.

“Are you going to going against her order?”

Would doing so be disobeying Dracula? No. He had not given him an order. There had been no Royal Blood Society vote. Just his Mother giving him an order. He had gone against her several times throughout his life. She never got upset with him for doing so.

“Press Conference is a go.”

“Why would it not be?”

“Mateo,” Javis spun towards the door, wondering why he had not heard it open or him walk into the room. “How long have you been standing there?”

“Just got here. You two were in a deep converstaion. Thought it best if I made my presense known.”

“You were right.” Elijah walked over to the round table sitting off to the side of the living room, opening the computer and entering the password. “Computer is up and secure, Sir.”

“Thanks, Elijah.”

“I’ll leave you two to it.”

16 Years Later

Chapter 1

“Our world has come to an end. We are no longer a single species, people want you to think these monsters are like us. They are far from civilized. If we look over the years of their hidden action among us, we will see this. If we had known about these beast, we would not have voted Javis Anderson the 4th into office. We would still have a two-term position among the president seat. Not an open-ended one that accommodates the eternal life of the foul creature, who calls himself our salvation. Salvation that comes at the ultimate cost of us turning over our death to him or another Vampire of our choosing. He has already stolen our states and counties from us and arranged them into Sectors ran by his chosen Vampires. He refuses to allow anyone other than his own people to take control, We have not lived under an authorative rule since the United States was created. Are we going to let him revoke what we have always known was best for us?

We have allowed a nasty, vile creature from the pits of Hell, that takes  blood from us daily to survive, to take control of our lives. His daily requirement of blood is the only reason that him and his monstrous alien race has taken over and put the law into affect that will cause us to become extent. Javis Anderson the 4th is the one that will be the death of our race and we have allowed it to happen. His trickery began fifteen years ago. He showed how much patients he has. He attack us from within. It is time for us to come straight at him.”

Julian had summoned him to the media room. Javis despised the accurately named room. Thin flat screen monitors graced every inch of all three walls. A smoothed covered sheet of wood had been pinned to the wall underneath them for people to sit and watch them. Dead center of the main wall sat a sixty inch television with the main new station that flickered between each new station across the world. Or it did until Julian pointed to the screen. It stopped and a deep, stern, scratchy tone filled the room. The medium build man had his hands behind his back, and Javis was sure he gripped them so tight that they were whiter than any piece of paper he’d seen.

“We have a major problem.” Julian said.

The man’s soft voice seemed out of place for the blaring anger flashing across his face. Man was in the right though. They had a major Hell storm coming their way. The vileness of the speaker’s words would rile up lots of humans. Most supported the changes he had made over the years of his political career and since he became the Commander and Chief of the United States. Still, there were defectors against all leaders. He was no exception.

“We have to do damage control.”

“You think.”

“Don’t go getting snippy with me.”

“I’ll do as I please.”

There was a dire call to rebuke the nasty speech. He had to fill in the holes that such hate filled words would create. He had to get the man out of the public eye. People would flock to him. The guy might not have asked them to, but . . . He had.

What did he do?

“We have to get out in front of this. I’ll call . . . you and Andy Candyman, from News Station 46, has the best recor. He’ll do perfect.”

He had to reach out to Dracula before he reacted. Didn’t he? Not an entire act had been made without direction from the Royal Blood Society since he’d been set out on his mission. Thing had been laid out directly and he’d been given specific orders. Yes, some things had been left up to the best course of action to get the upper hand in votes over the human race, but that had came from what he learned to do from education and him and his political group came up with. Dracula did not get involved in those aspect. Wasn’t this the same thing? It was. And this required a . . .

“Set up the press conference. I’ll get with Mateo and take care of the rest.” He’d have to get the deep and dirty on the new vocal threat. Find out where he came from. Who he was? All the dirty things that he could not unearth, but that Mateo and his Private Investigation department of his Security All The Time company could. They’d do so on the down low where he could not.

“Don’t make another mess for me to have to clean up.”

Looked as if his head of social presences was getting too big of a head. He’d have to be taken down a notch or two himself. Put in his place.

“Do I usually?” Javis waved at the screen. “Cut that shit off.” He spun on his heels and marched out of the room. Uncaring if they followed his order or not. They wouldn’t. Julian had them scared to miss one mention of his name in the media. Not that he could blame him. The world consisted of nothing but press. Worse it was, better people loved it. Even though, he had total control over the United States and had had for the last five years.

It’d taken him and his entourage of supporters six years to boost his following enough to get him voted into the White House and then two years to get the two-term administration term abolished. After that, it’d been a piece of cake to gather enough votes to shift the dynamics of the United States. The governing bodies faded into nothing and states, cities, and towns were turned into huge sectors and the existence of Vampires were brought to life. From there he had total control of the United States and Dracula’s overall plan had came to life. Other Vampires had done the same in other parts of the world and in each section a rule called Vampire Guardian had came into play. Simply stated that the human belonged to Javis or another one of the Vampires among the United States. That Vampire and the human had made a binding contract that upon his or her death the human would be kept alive long enough for the Vampire to reach him and then be changed into a Vampire by said Vampire. If no contract existed one had been created with Javis and a contract had been created with him and he was called in.

“What has happened?” Elijah came up to his side with his notepad and pen at the ready. Elijah Cones was the perfect assistant and best friend anyone could ask for. He never missed what was going on in his life. Knew when he needed a friend over a coworker and vise versa.

“Call Mateo and tell him to meet me in my office.”

“That bad, is it?”

Boy was it. He had to squash this man’s spillage before more came from him. He could not let one moment of doubt about how he ran the United States creep to life. If such took root in the United States it would in other areas of the world and Dracula’s plan would begin to unravel. Javis might not really have cared about how the plan fared to start with, but it had consumed the last fifteen years of his life and he would never go against what the Royal Blood Society asked him to do. Told him more like it. Voted for it. As the Vampire world liked to say they did.

“MIght as well call Mother as well.”

She’d have to be the one to reach out to Dracula and the rest of the Royal Blood Society. Far as the humans knew, no such group existed or had involvement with his decisions for the United States. Had to remain that way. Only reason, Elijah knew about it was that the man had been involved in every aspect of his life since they were in college working towards their Political Science degree.

“Darn it. Truly is bad.” Elijah pulled his phone out and began texting. “Mateo will meet us there in ten minutes. And I have to get the personal phone to reach out to Mother to cancel your supper plans.”

Code always worked best when dealing with Royal Blood Society. His personal phone had two numbers stored in it. His mother’s and his one true Vampire friend. Both of which, he always wanted their conversation kept away from the public eyes so he had an untraceable satellite phone that only he and Julian knew the location of. It’d take his mother about two hours, or less if she saw the broadcast, to reach out to him. Hell, if Dracula himself saw it, he’d be reaching out to him before she did. He hoped the all but recluse lifestyle the old Vampire lived kept him clueless.

Stolen Choices Prologue

 Hi

Hope all enjoyed the Entourage of Love. I enjoyed writing it and can't wait to go back and fix it up into a full length book for publication. I'm unsure when I will get to doing that, with me working on the Hell's Kingdom seven book series, but it and Inherited The Mob will be ones I work on soon. But for know . . .

It's time to start another story. This time we are going into the world of Vampires, who have taken over the world, but the one who was tasked with doing so isn't keen on the idea and his Heart Owner is . . . well let's just say very vocal about vampires and their actions.

Hope you enjoy Stolen Choices.

Where else would Dracula have them meet? Seculison. Area was secluded to start with, but he went ahead and created an oasis of it. Turned the bright, new green leaves into a canopy over a blanket of . . . stone. They were so high up that grass ceased to exist, which only enhanced the Stonehenge effect that the tall, deep brownish-gray tree trunks created. The sun-aged rocks of the Black Hills of South Dakota only added more of an authentic aspect. No one would accomplish a climb to the peak of the mountain and if they did, the winds rushing through the nature created hollows would mute anything the Royal Blood Society said during their meeting.

“Royal Blood Society,” Dracula’s deep base tone rolled over Javis like a ten foot wave crashing down on him. “Thanks for coming.”

Like he was given a choice. The Royal Blood Society had been formed by Dracula to maintain the secrecy of the Vampires. He’d chosen his five children and their eldest five children to give an air of majority rules leadership. Anyone with one ounce of common sense knew what Dracula said is what went.

“I want to discuss a major plan I have came up with. It will take some time, but the outcome will be more than worth it. I’m sure everyone of you will agree.”

Like we have another choice. Vampires who value their lives did as Dracula said. Without question. His children were no exception. A fact Javis learned early on in his Vampiric life. His mother had been told to avoid a certain faired-haired fellow because of her deep attraction to him, even though he was not her Heart Owner. She failed to do as told and ended up feeding from him and found herself unable to stop. We are only Vampires after all, and our nature does take over from time to time. Like humans, we have some food that just draw us in until we are glutton over it. That fellow was Elizabeta’s. Dracula secluded her in a coffin for ten years with only a small taste of animal blood each day for her disobedience. Mild punishment considering some of his other outlandish ones. The Royal Blood Society was more than well acquainted with Dracula’s outrageous ideas and implementation of them. As wild and strange as some had been, they went along with him.

“I have a plan that will allow us to become the rulers of the world.”

What the . . . oh boy. Most idiotic plan he’d ever came up with.

“It will take time. Many, many, many years, but I’m more than one hundred percent sure it will work.”

“Father,” Elizabeta, the eldest child, therefore, most equipped to wade the waters where Dracula was concerned and only one daring enough to insert herself before he explained, moved to stand in the center of the clearing. “Why do you wish to take over the world?”

Darn good question? He ruled over all the Vampires. He might have a stand-in for him in other countries, but they had to get approval for every little move they made. Some would say, right down to the next breath they took.

“My sweet, sweet Elizabeta, we will be able to cease living in the shadows. We will have control over who is in charge and when they are in charge. We will be able to put more Vampires in positions of power. This will give those who wish, and have the strength that is going to waste, to express and expel it safely. Do you not agree?”

Javis knew his mother would agree with her father before she gave a small nod, but at least he saw her flickering her fingers the way she did when she was giving an idea an indepth work though. He wasn’t sure where he stood on the idea. Some of what Dracula pointed out made sense, but he’d liked time to study over the exact words spoken. Dig into each section deeper and make sure there would be no loopholes that might come back to bite them in the ass at some later point. Happened many times in the past with Dracula’s plans. There’d be no time for that. Javis could already tell Dracula had the plan ready to lay out and put it in motion. That meant . . .

What did that mean? For the Vampires? For the humans? For the world as a whole?

For now . . . let's get you to the conclusion of An Entourage of Love.

Chapter 36

Bobby had to admit it pleased him how his mates allowed Kyle and Frank proceed them into the living room. It showed them that they knew who held the dominant traits among them. Kyle aad Frank might be Bill’s mates, but  they held more rank among them. Plus, they were guest in their mate’s house. That alone meant you showed them special treatment.

They made it to the living room and Bobby got Bill abd Taker introduced to Kyle and Frank before either of his newer mates spoke. Even then it was with a much more quieter and more respectful tone than he’d used when he was here earlier. Shocked Bobby and even James.

“Mate,” Savage’s eyes were down and his hands clasped in front of his stomach. “I’m sorry for how I acted earlier and I’d like to know if anyone would like drinks or anything.”

My Love, did a pop person show up in his place?

Don’t think so. Think he took my words to heart. I hoped that what it was. That or he spoke to his mother and asked her advice on how to handle being involved in a entourage of men. Whatever the case, he hoped it last.

“I think that would be nice, Savage.”

Savage looked at each one of them, but none seemed interested in refreshments. He looked a bit defeated, but gave me one last nod and then took a seat between Donald and Xavier on the sofa.

“Well . . .” James rubbed his hands together. “Looks like we’ve got to workout our look entourage of men.”

“Entourage of love.” Savage replied under his breath.

“What was that, Savage?” Bobby knew everyone heard him, but he wanted all his mates to feel like they could speak up, even the ones he had to put in their place on their first meeting. He didn’t want Savage to lose his hardcore, straightforwardness. No, that was what made him who he was. He would not change that for anything. He just needed to learn when it was proper to use it.

“My mom told me it was an Entourage of Love.”

“Why is that?” Donald asked.

“Becuase there is one person who has up to five people to love him or her.”

Hmm . . . made sense to me. More than accurate. Bobby was one man and because of his Mixed Breed status, there was up to five men who fate could have paired him with. Whether he ran across all five was up to them. So far . . . he’d met four of them. Sure felt like an entourage to him, even if he was dominate to three of the four. Didn’t really matter, they were still there because of him.

“Your mom is the Mined Breed, isn’t she?” James winked at Savage.

“She is. She wasn’t trying to interfere. Only trying to help me understand my position among my new life.”

“It is perfectly fine that you asked her questions.” Bobby rested his hand son James’ leg. “Isn’t it, Sweetie?”

“More than. We might have to call on her from time to time. This is all new to me and Bobby. Even Bobby donsn’t know what all being a Mixed Breed means. “What we do know is that we had to come up with an arrangement for us all.” And that had to be done between me and James since I was dominate to all of them, besides him and Donald. Where it came to him and Donald’s time, he’d reached out to him and discussed it with him on the phone. HInm staying at the Pack House was convenient for them to communicate when needed. “Here is what we came up with.”

“From the six in the morning until nine at night . . .” Bobby hoped they liked what him and James decided. “You all will be here. I may or may not be here. You may or may not be here, depending on our work schedules and other business that we have. Including visiting family. If you wish me to join you on any specific event, ask and I will see if I can arrange it so I can join you. I do not want us to live a life where we have set days for each of us, unless it turns out that is the only way. I’d like for us to work as a family unit.”

“How will that work when we are all in one house? I mean . . . I don’t think we will all want to share a bed with you.” Savage question was one Donald had brought up and I expected from them all.

“Once our house is built, or bought, whichever that turns out to be, I will spend one night with each of you during the week. The weekends, unless arranged ahead of time, will be with James. Same goes for the week with James, unless he requires me for a specific reason during the week, I’ll be with one of you on those designated nights.”

“But the days . . . We will all be . . . We can come up to you any time at all?”

Xavier’s whisper of a question had me going to kneel in front of him. I took hold of his face and kissed the tip of his nose. “That is right. Just like I”m doing you now.”

“That’s good. I like that.” Xavier let his head rest deeper against my hands. “Very much, mate.”

“Me too, me too, mate.” I gave them all a deep look before. I stood and went back to sit. Beside James. “As to a house . . . Me and Uncle Tony are both on the look out for one, but it looks like I will have to buy some land and build one that fits our needs. I am lucky that so far, I’m the only Mixed Breed with mates to worry with. When . . . that times come, Xavier, we will make sure there is room for them in our lives as well. I promise.”

A small node and a cute lite blush was his answer.

“So . . . for now . . . we star tour Entourage of Love apart, but it will not remain that way.”
