This week I’m not writing about any Mythical Creature. Nope.
This week I would love to hear what Mythical Creature you desire to be? Is it a
Hicamppus? A Centore? Unicorn? Dragon? You tell me.
This site is where people can share and communicate with others who love to discuss paranormal/supernatural books, movies, themes, flash fiction or anything else related to the topic.

Amulets
After a story idea hit the other day I found myself
researching trinkets to ward off or bring power to a person. What I found were
that many amulets are used in witchcraft. That brought up a few questions. How
many kind are there? What does each one do? Where do they come from? How do you
make them? (Don’t fret, I’m not including all my research. Have to keep some
ideas for my future book.)
What I will share is that there are many different kinds of
ways to use them, but all are based around two concepts. Protection and Good
Luck. After taking in this I decided to hunt some photos of amulets, but what I
found was this:
My question to you, is:
Do you wear a trinket or amulet that you keep to ward off
evil or bring you good luck? I’d love to hear.

Nothingness
Today’s free choice is the feeling I am dealing with at this
time. There was a death in our family and I find myself floating in and around
everything. My mind is not shattered. My heart aches for my dad and my Uncles
wife, but I seemed to be in a state of nothingness. Nothingness is not a bad
place to be, long as I do not stay there for a long period of time.
So, my message is to enjoy a short spell of nothingness, but
don’t fall into living in it.

Me and Witches.
I was asked a question the other day that made me think a
bit.
Questions: Why am I fascinated with witches?
Answer: I find their practice, Wicca and every other kind, interesting. I do not write much about witches, but most of my books include
some kind of spell casting. I believe that is the biggest reason I find myself
drawn to understand more about Witches and witchcraft.

Hipppocamp
I’m sure anyone who watched Percy Jackson – Sea of Monster will recall what today’s mythical
creature is. To me it is one of the beautiful water creature I know of. (Not
really saying much. I’m always finding a new mythical creature to inspire me.)
For those who only know this animal by sight from the movie, here is a bit more
information.
Hippocamp is a hybrid sea creature found in Greek,
Phoenician, and Etruscan Mythology, Sometimes it is referred to sea horse, a
beast with front half of a horse and the coiling scaly topside of a fish. The
fact that interest me the most was that the Roman mosaics Hippocamps are
covered in green scales and the winged Hippocamps pictured pulling Neptune’s
(Poseidon) chariot.
I often wondered how come the Hippocamp was chosen for the Percy Jackson movie. I learned why when
finding facts about his post. In Greek Legend of Jason and his Argonauts hunted
the pat for the Golden Fleece they watched as a giant Hippocamp was unhitched
from Poseidon’s chariot, then rose from the sea and galloped away, signally
that they should follow.

The CENTER
First off I want to apologize for no posting last week. It
was super busy for me. Thankfully, things are slowing down.
Today I want to describe what the CENTER is regarding Witchcraft. Many call it spirit, essences,
soul, consciousness. Whichever you choose it is a deepness that one seeks to
know and understand who you are as well as why you are here. (Comes from Rituals, Spellcasting & Sorcery
Witchcraft Theory and Practice by Ly De Angeles) The part of you that is
the center is your sixth sense. Or . . . Inner sight. To access it you must consider
the other five senses as the perimeter of a circle. Thing there flow inward, to
the center.
There is way more information listed in this book. I suggest
if this interest you that you find you a copy and indulge in reading the
material.

My Newest Choice of Reading Material
I’m learning how to eat healthy and cook healthier food, so
I’ve been on a recipe finder kick. One day I sat in a doctor’s office and
spotted the magazine Cooking Light. I opened it and began reading. Next thing I
knew I had a subscription. (Great Magazine with loads of healthy food ideas)
The other day, I received an offer for another cooking magazine. Allreceipes. I
find loads of good recipes on their website, so I jumped at the offer. While
paying for it, I was offered two more magazines. Never ever sit me in front of
the computer screen while offers for cooking magazines are coming my way. LOL.
I know have a total of four cooking Magazines to reach each month now. LOL. On
the bright side, I’m sure looking to expand my knowledge of types of meals to
cook.
They say for writers to read in other areas than they write.
Not sure if cooking magazines count, but hey if it gives me more knowledge then
I’m all for it.

Demon - Camio (Caym)
Appears in the form of a blackbird, a main coifed with a
headdress and adorned with a peacock tail. (Okay, this one aspect would draw my
attention in a heartbeat. I truly love the bright colors of a peacock tail.) He
carries a tapering sword and responds from the midst of a burning brazier.
Another interesting fact about him is that he was once with
the order of angels and currently resides as the high persist of Hell.
You can find both the information
stated here and a several photos of Camio at http://www.deliriumsrealm.com/camio/

Mythical Creature of the Week – Khnum
Khnum an ancient god of Egypt. He originally bore the honor
of being the water God. He was also suspected to have ruled the River Nile. His
realm of rule reached the rivers and lakes of the underworld. His insurance
that the inundation deposits on the banks of the Nile gave him a close
association with the Art of Pottery.
There are loads more of interesting fact on the website I
found this information. I truly suggest you take time to visit and read the
post.

Pantacle
I’m sure we’ve all heard of the term Pentagram. Sure we’ve
all seen photos of it at some point and time in our lives. I find it hard to
avoid seeing the different styles of images and cartoon aspects they come up
with to represent this image. But . . . That is not my topic for today’s
discussion. It is . . . in a round about, way related, so I didn’t waste words.
Today I’ve chose the word Pantacle. This is a word I was unaware of its definition or if it
was a someone made up. Low and behold, I learned it was an alternate spelling
of “pentacle” What they have done is replaced the Greek root word penta (number five) with panta (all). So, it is related to
Pentacle which is a standard working tool or magical weapon for ceremonial aspects.
It also represents the element EARTH.
