Mythical Creature of the Week: Jormungandor

Jormungandor has several names among Norse Mythology.

-          Jormundgand
-          Midgardsormen
-          World Serpent

This creature is a sea serpent. He is the middle child of the giantess Angrbooa and Loki. According to legend Odin took three of Loki’s children, throwing them into the great ocean encircling Midgard. Jormunngandor was one of them. He grew big enough to surround Earth and grab his own tail. Yet, if he let go of his tail he would end the world.

Research

Few post back,(not sure how long ago) I wrote some post about some research I was doing on becoming a Wicca. Today I did a bit more and liked the approach this site mentioned. It started out that you had to do the research and learn what the Wiccan Religion is. Second step was to choose your deities and develop relationship with them.

This is the one that got my attention. The other research book I read did not mention this aspect, which intrigued me. So, today I have a question for research purpose.

If anyone knows can you tell me if you have to build a relationship with the chosen deities, or not?

Wicca Symbols - Eleven Star

A seven-pointed star, or as the Faerie tradition of Wicca calls it, The Eleven Star, is a reminder that seven is a sacred number in many traditions. This symbol is connected to the seven days of the week, the seen pillars of wisdom, and other magical theories.

Hermetic Quaternary

One of the required understanding to the theory and practice of witchcraft is the Hermetic Quaternary. Which consist of four parts. To Know. To Will. To Dare. To Keep Silence. This is an image of a triangle inside a circle. To know is the bottom of the triangle. To dare is the left slant of the triangle. To will is the right slant of the triangle. Keep silence is the circle.

To Know or Earth tells us that there is power in knowledge.
To Will or Air tells us that power and discipline is the device of creation.
To Dare or Fire tells us you have to know how to mediate and focus. Basically you are willing to create now do it.
To Keep Silence or water tells us that silence is a potent reserved power.
