Chapter 30

Our meal had been great and after that we headed out to the gardens. I looked often to see if I saw Maga, but he was nowhere in sight, which was good, because Ez was walking right against my back. It didn’t bother me, much, and not in a bad way either. It had my skin heating up and my fangs dropping. We had just gotten inside the gazebo and his arms slid around my waist, tugging me back against him.

“Is this fine, my Chosen One?” Air brushed across my ears, sending shivers across my body.

“Thought we were going to take things slow.”

“I’m trying, but you are so delicious looking and the natural desire is revving my desire to hold and touch you. I will back off if you wish me to.”

I spun in his arms, taking in his masculine jaw line and his faint mustache that was darker than his silvery hair that always appeared as if someone had ran their hands through it. That hair looked soft and before I knew what I was doing, my hands were massaging his scalp, letting those fine, thin strains of hair brush across my hands.

“Just as soft as I thought.”

“Anything else about me you wish to find out about?”

Lots, but was it the right time to do so. Maga was nearby. He did not need to see me become some kind of lust filled Inccubus. It was part of my DNA, even if it was dormant while in the Underworld. Still, I felt it as part of my life. It had not died away. It might not be active, but I’d lived that life for all my life and my body was accustom to an active libido. And Maga said the Angire Demon had a high sexual desire when they were coming into their demon side. I was still a young demon thanks to just coming to the Underworld. Add in the fact Ez was my Chosen One . . .

Hell yeah, I wanted him. My cock was thick and thumping with desire.

“Kiss me.”

Chapter 29

We sat at the table full of food, filling our plates. Ez waited until I had mine full and in front of me before he began to gather his food. I was waiting for him to get his food and begin eating, but we ended up sitting there staring at one another. There is no clue how long we would have sat like that if Les hadn’t chuckled from behind the island.

“What is it?” Ez glanced back at Leg.

“Sorry, Sir, but I do not think Nacal is aware of our custom.”

“Ah, is that the case, my Chosen One.”

“I’m afraid I have no clue what you two are talking about.”

“It is improper for me to eat before you have taken your first bite. Just like I waited until you filled your plate. It is my job to ensure you have been fed and provided for.”

Improper? What in the world? Why had that not been in the book? How was I supposed to know these small details if they were not noted?

Odd and strange customs. “What other customs don’t I know about?” If he is waiting for me is he viewing himself higher than me? He sort of is, but a relationship should be equal, shouldn’t it? “Why are you waiting and not me?”

“You should always go before me, it is only the safest manner. There are others for when we are out in public, but I do not wish to discus them at this time.”

Didn’t want to discuss them, then he knew I wouldn’t like them. Or at least thought I wouldn’t. What had being his Chosen One gotten me into?

“I think I might need to know these customs up front.”

“I do not wish to scare you before I have gotten a chance to know you and you know me.” He reached across and took hold of my hand. “Customs can be changed. Discarded even, if I wish them be.” He twined his fingers through mine. “But if you hear them before you know me then I fear you will judge me based on them and not my true self.”

Damn, he made a good point. I needed to come into our relationship with an open mind about who he was. Not what the Underworld required. Like he said, he could change things. Benefit of being the Prince of the Underworld.

“Agree.” I took a bite of lasagna, focusing on my food, giving him time to do the same.

We ate half our meal in silence before Ez laid his fork down and said, “Tell me what kind of movies you like?”

“Paranormal, Sci-Fi, and Horror, some comedy. Pretty much anything that is interesting. How about you.”

We fell into the twenty-question relationship part of the get to know one another, while we finished our meal.

Chapter 28

I slumped in my seat, sighing. “That was intense.”

“I’m sorry for my father.” Ez said. “Maga, I do not know what got into him.”

“It is fine, Prince Moloch.”

“Ez, your are to be my in-law in the near future.”

“I think I wish to keep my head, Sir.” Maga chucked, but his heart was not in it.

“He will come around now.” Ez smiled, but it did not reach his eyes and I feared he spoke only to try and ease his own dread. It did nothing for mine.

“Now that I’m back to work,” Maga said, “What is on the agenda for the day, Prince Moloch?”

“A day with your son.”

What? Maga was going to be with us as we . . . We what? Got to know one another? That would be like him chaperoning us. No way.

I leaned into Ez and whispered, “That will be weird won’t it?”

“Trust me. It won’t be as bad as you are picturing.”

“Best not be.”

“What?” Maga ask.

“Nothing.” I said.

He must have caught on, because his cheeks went red and he hung his head as it shook back and forth. “No. Not doing that to my grown son. Promise.”

“Now that we are clear on that,” Ez pushed onto his feet, “Let’s got and get something to eat. How about that?”

“I have a nice spread laid out, Prince Moloch.” Les said from the doorway. “If it pleases you, Sir.”

“It does, if it does Nacal.”

“His cooking is always a treat, let’s go eat.”

Chapter 27

I wasn’t sure it was simple as that. Moloch’s dead on, piercing stare told me he didn’t either. The Underworld was a complicated place. I’d learned that in the short amount of time I’d been here. Read a lot of books about its history and learned about what had taken place throughout the years. Lots of battles between the species that no longer like to be separated into classifications, and for good reason. When they were, they battled for dominance the entire time. Least they knew how to resolve the issue, make no groups, so no one could rule over the others. Made sense to me.

Yet, it took away their individuality, in a way. If there were no classification then how did they learn about their own side of life. Their schools could no longer teach individual courses on each species, which meant it left it up to their parents. Parents weren’t always the best approach to learning from. It could be iffy, could range from too overboard to not enough stress put on the subject. There was no way to judge a middle ground. Guess it was a subject that no leader could win on, and that was why I was glad I wasn’t a leader. Then again, what would my role be if once me and Ez completed the Chosen One Ceremony.

Moloch had good reason to fear me being with Ez. I had no official knowledge of what my role would be when I officially became his. What would be expected of me? Would I be under house and key? Would he tell me where and when I could see people? Would I be expected to be at his side at all times? These are things I should have asked Maga before the Underworld Presentation Ball.

“I think,” Moloch’s mocking tone drew me from my rambling thoughts, “that Nacal has came to his own conclusions about where he stands among our world, have you not?”

Was he smiling? He was. Why? Had he read my mind and thought my rambling thoughts equaled dismissal of my rights to be here? Could he read minds? There were little to no information listed int the books I’d read about what the Highness could do power wise. Reading minds might be simple for him. Didn’t matter, he had read mine wrong if he thought that.

“I’m unsure what you mean, Your Highness.”

“Have you not came to the conclusion that you do not belong in our world?”

“No, I have not, Your Highness.”

Maga stood up taller against the wall where he’d yet to move from. Ez squeezed my hand tighter. Wasn’t sure if it was in support or to warn me off, but I never let anyone back me into a corner and I wouldn’t start then.

“Then where do you stand?”

“I stand as a newcomer into the Underworld, one who has lots to learn and is a fast learner. One who has a major reason to motivate him to grasp the concept behind every facet of the Underworlds way of life fast and accurately do so. I do not think this task will be an easy one, nor should I, but it is one I am up to, Your Highness.”

Ez lifted my hand and gave it the top of it a light kiss. “Moloch, as you see, he is more than acceptable partner for me and fate has deemed him mine. That is all that I care about and that is all you should care about. Now go and leave us in peace so we can get to know one another.”

“And what of . . .” He waved his hand at Maga.

“He has broken no rules and he will remain my guard as you wished all my life. Do you not say so?”

I could see Maga suck in a huge breath of air. I knew how much working for the Highness and Prince Moloch meant to him and his family. I hoped me being who I was did not interfere in that.

“I do. He is a great asset and the best to watch over us. He is the best of his family line.”

“Great praise, Your Highness.” Maga bowed his head. “I will never fail you nor Prince Moloch.”

“I know you will not.” Your Highness stood, patting Ez on his shoulder and then left.

Chapter 26

The night before had been more magical than I expected. I’d spent more time with Ez than I thought I would. When I’d reentered the banquet hall the other suitors had left. When I queried where everyone went, Les said they knew their chance was gone once I went away with the Prince. Guess it made since, was the truth. Me and him was meant to be. I’d gone to bed and stared up at the ceiling the rest of the night until I fell asleep.

I’d woken hungry, so I came down the steps only to find Maga flying through the air. His arms scrambled to make purchase with something as he hissed and shot fangs at the invisible threat. I ran up to him, reaching out for him but a heat searing non-existing wave scaled my hand and arms. I jerked them back, tucking them against my body, forcing he scream down as my own fangs shot down.

“Maga, what is happening?”

His mouth opened and closed, but no sound exited.

“Les!”

Les came running to my side, gasping as he grabbed me by the waist, pulling me back.

“You can’t help him.”

“What is happening?”

“Moloch.”

My eyes scanned the room, stopping on the stern eyes silver haired rude man I’d met last night. Ez sat beside him shaking his head, jerking at his father hand.

“Ez, please stop him.” I whined, dropping to my knees.

“Why do you care for the man who kept your true side hidden?” Your Highness spoke through clenched teeth, but his hand remained high as Maga remained press against the far wall, dangling.

“He didn’t. That was my mom.”

“Highness,” Ez locked eyes with me, smiling. “I told you Maga would not deceive us.”

“I’m unsure of that, yet.” Moloch lowered Maga to the floor and held his hand up before Maga could speak. “Tell me your side of the story.”

Maga bowed his head after he frowned at me. I knew he did not wish me to hear the story. He’d refused to tell me the entire story. I’d heard bits and pieces of it from him, but a shortened version. I feared I was about to hear the full detailed one and Maga did not wish to. Either it was going to make mom look much worse or him in some manner. I truly didn’t care anymore. My life was what it was and I had accepted that. Me and Ez was meant to be and that was going to be my life. Ez has accepted the fact I wished to take things slow and he had even stepped in when I asked him to. That meant a lot to me. Showed me a lot about his character and his devotion to Maga.

“I was clearing the Shorefront Hotel when I ran across the Jilyss Sto. I knew instantly she belonged to me.” Shorefront Hotel was one of the main hotels used before the Incubi Headquarters were built. Mom spoke of it often when I was small. She despised the place, thought it was foul. Stated people used to spin on the leaders there. Maybe her hatred for the place had more to do with her run-in with Maga than her devotion to the Incubi Headquarters. “Once my job for you was done, I went to my Chosen One and brought her to the Underworld. She was pissed at me to say the least. Demanded I return her to the Incubus/Succubus World. I begged for her to give us a chance. Sank low enough to tell her the prophecy my family had been told about a child of mine being the fated one to the Prince of the Underworld.” Maga hung his head, shaking it. “I wished I had not, but I am glad I did, because it got me my son. I trusted my Chosen One to explain who he was to her, but she did not do as I thought she would. It was my fault that I trusted her to do so. I never believed she would keep his true side form him. I gave her all the books he would need. I have no clue why she kept him in the dark, and can not ask her. She found some way to block our connection, which is why I did not know she had died in some explosion.”

Mom had blocked him? That meant she went to a witch. It was the only way to pull such off, or according to the book I read. Why had Maga not going into detail about why he wished he had not told her about the prophecy?

“You are leaving out a major part of the story.” Moloch tilted his head to the right. “Are you not?”

“Why are you making me do this to my son?”

“I deserve to know if you are loyal to me, do I not?”

“I have always been loyal to you, Your Highness.”

“Moloch, he has been. There is no sense in putting him through this. No sense in hurting him. He has proven his loyalty to us.” Ez moved so he stood in front of his father. “I mean it. I will not allow you to harm my Chosen One in any manner. No cease this.”

“No.” Moloch shoved Ez aside and pointed at Maga. “Explain why you wished you had not told you Chosen One about the prophecy.”

Maga looked at me, shaking his head and said, “Son, I am so sorry.”

“It is fine, Dad.”

A smile came over his face and he took in a huge breath, releasing it slow. “Jilyss immediately decided to use it as a bargaining chip. She said she would stay with me until she was pregnant then return to the Inccubus/ Succubus World with her family, raise our son until the day the prophecy came true. She begged and pleaded with me to let her return to her family. Swore she’d take care of my child. Swore she would love and raise him like she was doing with her other children. That her husband would treat him as his own. I knew she would never be happy in the Underworld or with me. Her heart belonged to the family she already had. I had lost my time with my Chosen One, but was going to be able to gain a child from her. A part of her who would one day come to join me. Or so I believed. I agreed and spent several wonderful days with her.”

I’d been right. Mom had used me as a bargaining chip. I was nothing to her but a way to return to the family she had before I came along. She never showed me anything but love, that much was true, but she kept who I was from me. Why? I would never be able to know and I guess it didn’t matter. What did was my life had been meant to be in the Underworld all along and I’d been robbed of that chance because my mom loved her other family more than she did her Chosen One. I’m unsure how she was able to do so, but she had. I guess it was an succubus thing. With the way I already felt towards Ez, I do not think I could do such to him. Maybe it was because I was not already in love with someone else. Whatever mom’s reason was, she’d driven my life down the path it’d taken, it was my time to take it in the path it should have been down all along.

“Moloch, you have your answer, now cease the interrogation of your number one guard. You have known all along that he has not failed you.” Ez glanced back at me. “And all you are doing is hurting my Chosen One. I do not appreciate it.”

“Are you sure about this, Ez? Son, he’s blinded to our world.”

Ah, the truth of the matter comes to life. I knew Moloch would never accept me, but going after my dad was something I never expected. He knew Maga for so many years. Maga had worked for him. Been his son’s guard. He trusted him, why think he turned on him? It was all a game to try and turn his son against me.

“I ask again, Son, are you able to overlook his lack of knowledge of our world.”

MOloch’s skin glistened brighter as his eyes nailed me with pure uncertainty. Those all but dull, lighted eyes said it all. He anted his son attached to someone more educated to the Underworld. He’d not gotten the prophecized man he dreamed of.

Guess his dram was shattered like my Journey Announcement Day had b een. Neither of us dreamed of my life being what fate declared, but from what Ez Moloch stated he cared less about how educated I was.

“He will learn, Moloch. Simple as that, father.”

Chapter 25

The large round white gazebo was circled by a pond full of large bubbled eyed gold fish that I loved to come out and feed. Before you get to the plank that leads across the waterway to the gazebo that would hold about the people ten you are greeted by a beauty of reds, yellow, purple and green steamed flowers. An amazing array of flowers tucked away in a hidden garden outside a stone style mansion.

“This is a beautiful place your father has gotten for you.” Prince Moloch took hold of my hand, pulling me over to the right towards the purple orchids. “These are my favorite. I wonder if he put them in here for me.”

“I do not know, Prince Moloch.”

“Please, call me Ez.”

“Are you sure, I do not think your father would approve.”

“You let me handle my father. You and I have nothing to do with him.”

It warmed my heart for him to say so, but I felt like that wasn’t the truth. My gut told me his father would be more of an interference than Ez thought he would be. Wasn’t sure if it was because of my half breed status or my lack of knowledge of the Demon world or not living among the Underworld.

“You are tense.” Ez moved behind me, placing his hands on my shoulder. “May I?”

“I guess.”

His fingers dug into the tight muscles of my shoulders and upper neck. My body relaxed under his tender hands. It was as if he knew what he was doing. How many others had he done this to? Was I the first? Had he slept wit hundred of demons? I wasn’t a virgin, but my experience was limited.

He moved closer to me, all but pressed right up against me. I could feel his breath against my neck. The warmth of it had me leaning back into him. He wrapped his arms around my waist, resting his head on my shoulder.

“You feel it, don’t you?” He whispered in my ear.

What did I say? I felt what I was supposed to. I felt the connection phoposized to Maga and by the mirror. My life was going as fate deemed. No since in denying it.

“I did.”

“Me too, and it is magnificent to know that I do not have to look for you any more.”

“How long have you looked?”

“I have waited for you for over one hundred years.”

Holy shit. I knew Maga said we lived forever, but I’d not really believed him, even though he’d told me his age. It still hadn’t felt real, but in that moment it did.

“I’m sorry it took me so long.”

“It is not your fault. Fate takes its sweet time and I know you will be well worth it.”

He kissed the side of my neck and my cock twitched, which shocked me. I hadn’t expected to feel anything for him. I mean, I knew the book stated it would be a rush of endorphines after our initial meetings, but so soon afterwards.

“Prince Moloch,” a gentle voice spoke from the front of the walkway, “your father has requested you return home.”

Ez squeezed me, nuzzling his nose against my neck. “You wished to take this slow and I accept that request, but you are irroestiable by nature with your natural beauty, Nacal.”

“Thank you, Ez.”

“For what, Nacal.”

“For respecting my wishes and the compliment.”

He spun me in his arms, placing our faces a hairs inch apart. “Do not make me wait too long, my beauty.” He leaned in and kissed my cheek. “For now, we part, but I would like to see you again tomorrow, is that acceptable?”

“It is.”

“Then I will call on you at noon tomorrow.” He kissed my cheek and stepped back, leaving me standing there watching his back as he made his way into the house.

Chapter 24

Moloch paused and spoke to Maga for a moment then headed right over to Prince Moloch. He paid me no attention, or seemed that way. Moloch held stern eyes that bore right through you. His purple tinted white hair and grayish beard only intensified the scariness of him. It put a silent quake deep in me. I might have moved my seat away from Prince Moloch if I could have gotten away with it.

Prince Moloch seemed unfazed by him. He gave him a small bow and greeted him. “Moloch. What a shock.”

“Why is that son?” Moloch asked as he glanced my way. “Did you truly think I would not make an appearance today?”

“One could hope.” Prince Moloch crossed his arms. “It is my life I’m here for, not yours.”

“Yours is mine.” Moloch grabbed the edge of a chair and moved it along side his son. “Introduce us, Ez.”

Jerk. Couldn’t the man at least let us introduce ourselves to one another completely first? I mean, Prince Moloch hadn’t even had a chance to offer me his first name. I’d been so tongue tied, I’d not been able to say more than a handful of words to him. Darn it, I’d blown it already and would only make a bigger fool of myself.

“Your Highness Moloch, this is the guest of honor, Nacal Angire.”

“Sto.”

“Excuse me?” Moloch nailed me with an arched eyebrow, who was I kidding his eyebrows appeared to remain arched. They’d yet to lower since he took a seat at lest. “Did you just dare correct my son?”

“Moloch!” Prince Moloch drug his name out.

“He meant no disrespect by it, Your Highness.” Les bowed his head as he kicked my calf. “Isn’t that right, Nacal?”

“Course, Your Highness. I just assumed he did not realize that I did not have Maga’s last name.”

“And why is that?” Moloch raised one eyebrow higher. “All demon children take their father’s last name.”

“Among the Inccubus/Succubus World we take the Succubus’ last name.”

“But you are not of that world.” Moloch spoke as if I’d said the most offensive thing in the world. “Never have been.”

“I . . . Ouch. Would you quit, Les.” I rubbed my ribs, glaring at him.

Prince Moloch snorted, shaking his head at Les. “You can stand down. He will not offend anyone at this table.”

“Speak for yourself son. I think Demon Les is saving young Angire from digging himself a grave.”

“I think you should leave, Moloch.” Prince Moloch stood, waving his hand at the entrance to the banquet room. “This is a place for suitors for young Nacal. I am sure you are not in the market.”

“Not for him.” Moloch look offended beyond belief as he wiped his shirt off and stood. “We will discuss this more when you return tonight.”

Prince Moloch stood in silence until Moloch left the room and the noise around the room resumed. Sauces chattered, sure about what they’d just witnessed, and plates clanked as they were filled.

“Sorry for his actions.” Prince Moloch held his hand out. “My name is, Ez. Do you concede we have a lot to discuss?”

Did I?

I did, but I wanted to get to know him better as well. “Let’s take this slow, shall we?”

Another hard thump to my ribs had Ez holding up his hands to Les. “Please quit assaulting his ribs. He is well within his rights. This is all new to him. I’m sure where he is from his questions is perfectly normal.”

“It might. Be, Prince Moloch, but Your Highness will not - -“

“Let me handle my father.” He stood. “Would you like to show me around this place to start with?”

I took his hand and let him tug me to my feet and decide to take him out to the waterfalls Maga had setup out in the gazebo area. It was my favorite place outside the mansion.

Chapter 23

Person after person was introduced as they came in. Each came up to me and held their hand out to me. One thing in common with them all, beauty. Hadn’t seen a demon in the Underworld who didn’t hold an air of beauty to them. The women were right down gorgeous and neck breaking as Rako would have said, but the men held an air of natural sensuousness that I’d only saw among the Inccubus. Hell, not even they held as much as these men did, but at the same time, none of these men appealed to me. None called to my inner side the Demonology Book father gave me talked about.

The book had stated that demons had a sixth sense about who they were compatible with. Those Chosen for them it was so much more. It was as if you were . . .

All noise ceased as a throat cleared. Heck, I couldn’t even hear the every flowing chocolate fondue working.

“Prince Moloch.”

Maga’s voice spoke solid and proud. Didn’t have to see him to know his back was straight and his eyes lowered. Hell, everyone eyes were lowered, but mine. Might should have been, but my curiosity won over and I had to catch sight of the one that was supposed to be mine.

Black tipped, glistening silvery hair, with thick black eyebrows and a set of dimples deep enough to dip my tongue into while I traced his cheek, stole my breath. I all but coughed. Might have if those piercing sexy, light gray eyes had not caught onto mine. Every clear thought I’d had about what I would say to him when he arrived fled my mind.

My entire world froze. Sensible thought ceased. Mere concept to pay him due respect escaped my mind, even with Les nudging the hell out of my ribs. All I could do was stare at those lightly parted lips.

What would they feel like pressed against mine? Soft? Rough? Would he gently suck my cock between his lips or harshly gulp it down the back of his throat. My fangs shot free, dipping over my lips. I tried to shove them behind my lower lips, but there was no hiding the long ass things.

“Hello, my good Sir.”

Words. I needed them. What was I to say? I could not embarrass myself. Was going to. Heck fire, why in the world would someone of this magnitude of sexiness even glance in my directions.

“Nacal,” Les shoved his elbow into my ribs, getting a grunt from me. “This is, Prince Moloch.”

Right. Greet him. He was the prince. Could not ignore him. Maga worked for him.

“Excuse him, Sir.” Les gave my gut another jab. “He’s a bit overwhelmed with all of this.”

“It is only reasonable.” Prince Moloch came around the table and pulled out the seat next to me. “May I?”

“By all means, Sir.” Les said when I managed a nod.

“I’m sure he finds the entire Underworld a bit overwhelming considering he’s only been here a few weeks.”

Lord have mercy on my senses, what was that glorious scent? Lavender mixed with sandalwood? Smelled divine. Made me want to lick it off of his skin. My tongue darted out, tracing my lower lip, which caught his attention and got me a huge smile.

“Have you had time to visit many places around?”

“A few places.” I finally squeaked.

“What have you thought of our little humble abode so far?”

“Nicer than expected.”

Prince Moloch chuckled, tossing his head back, but that marvelous hair remained motionless. Did he use a lot of product or was it just natural for it to be that way?

“Do you think you would allow me to show you a bit of the unseen beauties among my world?”

I’d let him show me anything he wished. His home. His intuitiveness. His body for sure. Hell, I’d toss myself naked at his feet if he’d give me the chance.

What in the world was wrong with me? I never threw myself at people? I took time to get to know them. Make sure they fit with me. Ah, this was the Chosen aspect the book had spoken about.

“So would you allow me the privilege for your time?”

I gave small nod just as a trumpet blared. Prince Moloch’s smile faded into a tight line and a shake of his head. He stood and Les yanked me to my feet. I glanced at him just as Maga’s voice flowed through room.

“His Highness Moloch.”
