Chapter 3

Bobby pushed Tommy against the room door soon as he shut it, kissing him so hard their teeth clanked. He’d hoped to give him soft, whispered words of devotion and how much he missed him, but all his mind and body could think of was feeling and showing him how much he’d done those things. Best way to do that was  touch. Skin to skin touch. Cock to cock touch. Cock to ass touch. Hell, a pure out hard as hell fucking.

Hands slid under shirts and shoved them above and over head, forcing them both to break apart a bit, pulling a faint whimper from them both. Bobby loved how much Tommy seemed to have missed him, even if it’d only been a few days. His dire need to prove to himself that Tommy was alive made sense, but Tommy’s drive for him . . . Guess it made sense too. He’d been forced to leave his mate among the wolves in lamb clothing.

“Come join me in bed.” Bobby took hold of his hand and walked them over to the double bed. “Little downgrade for you, isn’t it?”

“Whole house is, but I refused to join Uncle in his safe house until I knew you were with me, even then I wanted us to have a place of our own.”

“Sure he will be around.” Bobby sat on the bed, taking hold the top of Tommy’s jeans, tugging the snap lose and the pulling the zipper down. “You don’t need these to come to bed.”

“Don’t do I?” Tommy’s huge smile all but melted Bobby on the spot. Sure had his cock thickening. More than it already was. “What will I need?”

“Lube.”

“Already under the pillow awaiting my mate.”

“Ready for me, was you?”

“Bet I was mate.” Tommy squirmed until his jeans fell to the floor and he could kick out of them. Then he climbed onto the bed, ass in the air and all his weight on his knees and elbows. “I’m all yours, mate.”

Just the way Bobby liked it. He ran a hand over Tommy’s white ass, letting a finger dip between his cheeks. Using the other hand, he let some of the lube dribble down the crack and between it, using his finger to spread it deeper and push it inside with one, then a second finger.

“God . . . Honey, more.”

Tommy’s moan was soft and musical, but Bobby missed the loudness he’d always gotten from his mate when they were together. He wanted it back. Cal wanted it back. They’d get it by the end of the night. That fact was what had him crawling behind him and lining his cock up with Tommy’s ass with no more prep than two or three strokes of his two fingers, before he shoved his thick hard cock all the way in.

“FUCK YEAH!”

“That’s what I wanted, baby.”

He was sure the entire neighborhood heard his mate. Knew he was at home with his man. The only one who could give him such pleasure. It was that sound that had him pounding into Tommy harder and harder, until the headboard of the bed began to bang against the wall. Tommy kept saying something over and over, between his moans and groans, but hell if Bobby knew what it was. Didn’t matter to him. All that did was that his mate was getting the pounding of his life and his cock and wolf was loving every second of it.

Didn’t take him long before he felt his balls draw up and then he was spewing his load into his mate as he bite into his mate’s neck and drank from him.

“Shit . . . Yes, honey. Yes. That’s it. Take what you need.”

He had needed it. Not because he needed some blood, but because Tommy belonged to him. As far as his wolf and vampire side was concerned the two of them belonged together at all times. Far as he knew the two were mated in the way he’d learned. None of that might be right, but until he knew the proper manner . . . Even after he did, he wasn’t sure if his mindset would change from what he’d been taught. How could years and years of knowledge and being told one way just up and change. Or would it be his choice which way he lived by.

Tommy’s knees gave way, taking him right along with him. Right. He’d just finishing making love to his mate. His mind had no business swaying to such bullshit right then. He had his man in his arms right after the throws of a great love session.

Bobby curled his arms around Tommy and drew him in close. “Time to . . .” Light snores filled the air before he could finish the sentence.

Chapter 2

Bobby reached out to take the papers and book that James held out to him after listening to him explain all that he’d told Tony and Tommy. What he’d discovered more than blew his mind. It had to be the reason that his arm felt like led weighed it down. Had to be why he no longer had function of it. Why it dropped to his side instead of taking those crucial pieces of proof all he’d been told over the last couple of hours. He should have waited until he had slept to take all of it in. He’d not expected it to be so . . .

Tommy’s sexy face came into his line of sight as he knelt  between his knees and took hold of his hand. His lips moved. None of his words made it to Bobby’s mind. Nor could he respond back to him. Even twitch a finger to let him know that he was, or in the case wasn’t there. He had no idea how to alert Tommy to what was going on with him. How to even give James a clue as to the fact that his mind and body had gone a bit loopy.

More than loopy, because all of a sudden out of nowhere came a voice. Tommy’s lips were closed. James' lips were closed, but his eyes held so much concern and earning that it all but had Bobby asking him what was going on. He might have if he had any control and did not have a voice inside his head.

“Damn. I wish he knew we were Fated Mates.”

Inside his head is what got him. It had to be what kicked his mind and body back into gear, because all of a sudden Tommy seemed to be shouting.

“Honey, honey, do you hear me?”

Fingers tightened around his, dragging his mind back to the one man that owned his heart. “Sorry, baby. Don’t know what happened.”

“Did you hear me? If so, answer me in your head.”

Bobby managed to grip Tommy’s hand, but his eyes bore over the top of his head, locked onto James, who seemed to be wiggling in his seat. Made sense, if James knew he could hear voices inside his head. There had to be more to what James knew than he’d had time to explain to him. More in the book that Bobby had been unable to pick up. Book be damned. If James could speak in his head, he could explain why the fuck he could.

“Why the hell are you in my head and how?

It is explained in the book along with all the proof  of what has taken place. I don’t want to explain it to you. I want you to read the material and let you talk to your blood brothers. Then I will explain if you still don’t understand.

You mean . . . No one knows we can talk like this?

James gave a faint shake of his head then hung it down, but he never broke eye contact. Bobby did. He leaned his forehead down on top of Tommy’s and sighed.

“Honey, this was a hell of a lot for me to take in and I have not been through what you have the last few days.”

Tommy was more than right. Bobby believed Tommy was dead, only to find out he’d inherited the rights to the biggest mob in the US and left everything behind, including his twin, because of an audio message from Tony. End that off with coming face to face with the man who had stalked him when him and Tommy first got together. That same man told him that the ones who raised him were in hoots with the Master. There was so much going through his mind, and he wasn’t even counting being able to hear and speak to James inside his head.

“Let me say this out loud and see if I’m following it.” Bobby took a huge breath, sitting back, taking Tommy with him, loving how his mate snuggled onto his lap. “My biological mom and dad gave birth to the first ever Wolf/Vamp mix, his name is Larry James Taylor. He is now the leader of the Charlotte Wolf/Vamp Group, which is the largest in the world. My biological parents were given an order to refrain from being together by her brother, who was the Master at the time. This was around a hundred years ago.” James and Tommy both nodded. Larry being alive was proof that they disobeyed him and thy were arrested when Larry started the first wolf/vamp group. When they were taken in, my birth mom was pregnant with me and Bill. But at some point after Larry left out on his own, our birth parents started working with this group called Mixed Supernatural. A group a different supernaturals who agreed to be part of an experiment in how children of mixed couples should be raised. The leader of this group is now the Master. This guy was able to convince my birth mom’s brother to let him take the children. He told my birth Uncle that I was given to a pure blood wolf shifter who was mated to a male and that the second child died in route his adopted parents.”

All that seemed unnatural and unreal enough, but the current Master had gone even further and made an arrangement with my dad to raise me as a pure wolf until I went through my first shift. At this time, he was going to start studying me and putting me through test, but he got tired of having to do all this in the background so to speak so he challenged for the Master seat and won and releasing his birth parents so they could go on to have more children and any and all experiments could take place in the open.

“And they threw out their youngest son, Daniel Lee when he found out about Larry, Bill and me?”

James sighed. “Yes. That’s when he found out where you and Simon and your other dad lived. He confronted your dad.” That had to be the night everyone told him his dad walked in on  a burglar.

“It was a trap the Master had setup. He knew Daniel was looking for Larry and you and Bill. He had your dad and Simon waiting to attack and kill him, but . . . Daniel bested your dad before the Master and Simon knocked him out and dropped him off in Larry’s territory with a planted order for him to forget his search of you and Bill.”

“Why did they let him keep his knowledge of Larry?”

“Daniel’s mind wasn’t wiped. He filled  Larry in on what was taking place. Larry and him were dead set on finding you.”

“Then why not come right back and get me?”

“Daniel might have not forgotten his objective of hunting you down and why.”

“It’s neat that a wolf/vamp mix can do that.” Tommy interjected as he wiggled a bit.

“What’s that mean, honey?”

“That’s right. You haven’t heard that.” He ran his hand down his face. “A mix of any bread can not be ordered by anyone other than the Alpha they swore alliance to.”

“There is a drawback.” James sighed. “It can wipe their memory at times. And it did Daniels.”

“That’s why him and Larry did not come back to get me.”

“Right, but they restarted their search.”

Damn it. This was way out there. How was he supposed to follow any of this? Could anyone follow this? Doubted even the smartest person in the world could. Entire story made his head throb worse than every before and he never got headaches. And to think that . . .

“James, how do you have a . . . Hold up? If Larry is your brother then Daniel is and that means . . .” Where me and James related?

“Hold up. We are not . . . Larry and I are only brothers by the way we feel. He was around my parents until I moved here to help my Uncle.”

A day Bobby remember all too well. He’d fallen in love with James' silky long hair and his strong physical's condition. First thought that had gone through his mind was that he’d be a great man to fuck, but for some reason they fell into the friend category instead.

“He used to chase me around the yard and taught me how to throw the football around. Man was the greatest to me. He considers us family.”

“Part of that’s what I don’t get.” Bobby leaned around Tommy and stared James down. “We’ve known each other for ten years. Why all of a sudden did you take that my scent was like Larry’s? And feel the need to mention it to him.”

“Uh . . .” The book will explain that. I do not think you want me to speak of it while you are holding your man.

For some reason, Bobby felt that way too. Something about the way him and James could talk mind to mind seemed way to intimate. Picking up scents really did mean intimacy. But question remained, why did it take him ten years to pick up on it. Why did nothing register to me? And none of this makes any sense. Guess the book will explain it all. Or, he hoped.

“Basically, once you told Larry about my scent, pieces began falling into pieces and the truth was revealed to you and you reached out to Tony? Why him?”

“Why not?” James shrugged. “You and Tommy was officially mated by then and everyone knowns what he would do for his nephew. Only far to assume that care would extend to his nephew’s mate.”

True. Turned out right. Just it threw Tony into overprotect mode and apparently the only way he saw fit to extract Tommy and him from a dangerous spot was to fake their deaths. Would have been nice to have been let in on the plan.

“We are not sure if Bill is on this or not, though.” Tommy nuzzled his neck. “That’s why Uncle did not want you to trust him.”

Bill wasn’t. Bobby’s gut told him that much. Bill was too innocent to be involved in such a indepth twisted deed. But Bobby understood where Tony was coming from and thanked him for being extra careful.

He rubbed his forehead and popped his neck. “For now . . . I want to digest all of this and take time to read through all of this stuff. Discover the truth about what a Wolf/Vamp can do.” Sucked that everything he’d learned from those other books were . . . Wrong? Was it wise to trust . . .  Had t o be. Tommy and Tony trusted what James had brought them as truth. He would too.

“My mate trust you, James. That means I will. I’m going to get some sleep, read through the material and when I’m done I would like to meet with Alpha Timbers and his beta.” His family. More that he didn’t know he had. One he knew he had, but believed was estranged. “I am not trying to be rude, but I want to scent them myself.”

“They’d have it no other way.” James gave him this huge smile that screamed he’d have it no other way either.

“Tommy show me to our room please.”

James’ lips curled down for a fleeting moment, but then he went back to a smile. Fake one, but he kept his thoughts to himself. More importantly, his voice remained silent inside Bobby’s head.

As him and Tommy left the room, he tossed over his shoulder for James to set up the meeting with Larry and Daniel.

Inherited the Mob Part 2 Chapter 1

Hi all,

Wanted to apologize to you for being a bit unsure about if the last post was the last chapter of that story or not. As I wrote it more came to mind. Bobby’s journey did not end at that point. There were still so much left hanging, but . . . It felt like a much large story or a huge separate part that did not fit in with how he came to Inherit Tony’s business. For that reason alone, I’ve continued their journey. Still Unsure of the title for this part of his journey so for now, I’m going to call it Inherited the Mob Part 2.

Hope you enjoy the rest of Bobby’s journey.

Chapter 1

The drive to Charlotte was long. Bobby only stopped to sleep and then get back on the road. All he could think about was getting Tommy back in his arms and understanding what had taken place. How his Daddy Simon and everyone people that was supposed to lead him had turned on him. Why would they? What had he done to them?

None of it mattered as much as knowing Tommy was alive and safe. Holding him. Kissing him. The GPS led him to a nice normal small cookie cutter community with what looked like a modern two point five family style house. Beige with light blue shutters and a stained wooden front porch with matching porch swing. Name on mailbox said Chambers.

Everything about the place screamed right the opposite of where Tony would have brought Tommy. But then again . . . Entire street was lit with lights. Small, unnoticeable to most, cameras sat up high in the trees that lined the fence around the house. Typical Tony when it came to taking care of his nephew. Several people mulled around the streets, even though it was way past midnight. Most communities like this was lights out by eleven thanks to nine to five hours they kept.

Bobby got one foot out of the car and the porch light flickered to life and the front door open. Inside the door frame stood the most beautiful sight he’d seen since he’d bought the house on his honeymoon. His feet moved on their own accord and his arms were wrapped around Tommy as his lips pressed hard over his. Their hands ran over each others, grasping and slipping under clothes.

“God . . . You really are . . . Alive.” He nipped Tommy’s lower lip. “What the hell is going on!”

“Calm down before you wake the neighbors.”

Right. No space where Tommy lived. Odd. “Why are you living here?”

“All in good time.” Tommy took hold of his hand and tugged him into the small, tight confined hallway. “There is someone here who is a friend. He is how we found out the truth.”

What the . . . Bobby jerked Tommy behind him, snarling. “What is he doing here?”

Never in his life did Bobby expect to see the man who had caused so much trouble for him and Tommy when they first started their relationship. What did he have to do with the entire situation? Why would Tony have brought him into the same house as Tommy knowing he’d held a grudge against their relationship to start with.

Warm arms slipped around his waist and up to his chest, tugging him back into a soft chest. “Let me explain.”

“Start. He’s done slept with one guy I dated.” Needless to say, he’d rip James in half if he laid one finger on Tommy.

“Wow, honey. We’ve never even touched one another. Promise.”

“Bobby,” James held his hand up and took a huge step back. “I would never touch your mate. Never in a million lives. Just gives us time to explain.”

Could he do that? All he’d wanted since he left the fights was an explanation, but seeing Tommy had thrown Cal into a state of desire. Warmth and lust wafted over him so fast and harsh that his insides ached with need. His cock throbbed and ached against his zipper.

“Do you want to sleep first or get an explanation, honey?”

As much as he wanted to strip his mate and fuck him senseless he needed to understand what had triggered Tony to fake his and Tommy’s death. Even more, what had him trusting James.

“Let’s go and sit while you explain what is going on.”

“Living room then.” Tommy tossed his head towards the archway to their left. “James go get what you showed me and Uncle Tony so he can see it also.”

Tommy and him took a seat on a cushy blue sofa, snuggling up in each other’s arms. “Baby, what is he really doing here and why?”

“I will explain everything. Tell Cal to calm down and let you stay in control so you can look at all this stuff.”

Chapter 61

The once wedding area was noting but clear ground crowded with people that had been there the other day dressed to the nine to celebrate with him and Tommy. That day there were there to either fight or watch the fights. The anger and despair roaring through him did not bode well for anyone who went up against him.

“Bobby,” David came walking up to him with a short, skinny guy at his heels. “This is Mr. Stake’s lawyer. He needs to see you before we begin.”

Him? Why would he need to see him? Tony had no reason to leave him anything. “Thank you, for showing me to him, Alpha  Kind.” The squeaky voiced man’s dismissal of David put a foul expression on David’s face as he walked back towards the crowded group members. “Here,” he held out an early nineties walkman. “We are not away from ears. Use this audio device.”

He’d only ever seen the device on the television, but it was easy enough to figure out how to use. He hit the play button after slipping the ear buds in. What he heard all but had him dropping the darn thing and his mouth. Only the lawyer’s shake of his head kept him motionless.

“Bobby,” Tony’s voice flowed through the machine and into his ears, “Your mate is safe and alive. The threat to you is real. I am afraid I led it right into your life. Your biological parents, adopted parents, Alpha Kind and the Master is behind it. The goal is to pile so much stress on you that you snap when Mr. Tyler Stone contacts you that you attack him. I have turned all my companies over to you. That gives you full control of thirty states. Base Camp know is Colorado, but I suggest making it North Carolina. Use the Bugs GPS. It’s programmed. Tommy loves you. Hope you take my advice.”

Took all his strength not to track David and Daddy Simon down with his eyes. Why would either of them want to harm him? What had he done to them? Daddy Simon had raised him since the moment dad died? By adopted parents did Tony mean both of them or just Daddy Simon? How had any of them gotten any of this buy him?

The plastic creaking drew his mind back to the clicking of the machine. He took the buds from his ear and wrapped them around the destroyed machine. He held it out to Mr. Stone. “Assume you know how to dispose of this?” He was more than sure he did. There was no way that Tony would have given him enough instruction to bring it to him and not get rid of something that might lead back to him. Tony hadn’t gotten to be the biggest Mobster by being dumb. Man was more than smart.

“Yes, Sir. Will you be keeping the base camp the same?”

Great, hit him with his first Mob filled decision right off the bat.

“No. I will call from the road and let you know.”

“Fine, Sir. I have sold Tommy’s bike like I was supposed too and here are the keys to the other. If you need me call me any time.” He held out a business card.

“Will do. Leave before I make my excuse to leave.” He watched as the guy casually walked back around the house. He gave him time to get into his vehicle and take his leave before he walked up to Alpha Kind and the Master, who had joined him and Daddy Simon at some point and time.

“Alpha Kind, Master, may I have a word with you?” They both looked over at him with a sort of crooked smile and nodded. “I will not be able to fight after all.” Before David could interject he pushed on. “I have to go and run the company that was left to me. Sorry, Master, you will have to find someone else to teach Bill. I must go.” He hated to leave Bill, but until he knew just how deep the deception went . . . He wasn’t taking anyone or anything with him in that Bug.

Alpha Kind threw his hand out to stop him as he spun, but lifted it from his arm when he growl. “Wait a minute. I have a question for the Master.”

“What is it, Alpha Kind?”

“Doesn't he have to have a Group since the new laws was introduced?”

“Not if he is running the Stake Corporation. He automatically becomes a lone wolf per my new rule the other day.”

“Like I said, thanks for all your help.” He glanced over at Daddy Simon and forced a huge smile. “I will contact you with my location as soon as I know where that will be.”

His wide opened mouth was the only rational response his pronouncement got from any of them. Alpha Kind and the Master both wore expression of pure out rage. Their face was all but as red as a blazing fire. Daddy Simon staggered back a couple of steps and his hands came up to his mouth.

“Son, are you . . .”

The rest of his question about me being sure if Tony left the business to him faded away as he headed back around the house. Guess it’d not been in their plan for him to inherit the mob.

Chapter 60

“Alright, Master, we are here.”

Bobby sat down beside Bill and Daddy Simon. He wasn’t sure what to expect. Whatever his biological parents had to say for themselves mattered little to him. Their actions had destroyed his life from his birth. The start of it at least and last day or two. Part of the blame rested with the Master. His barbaric decisions had taken him away from his mate. Cost him his mate. Tore his world in half and taken his heart from him for the rest of his life. His mental plan had been to return to Tommy after he had Bill capable of living own his own. Beg, pleas if he had to, for him to take him back. Give him another shot to make him happy. That chance . . . Vanished. Up in smoke.

“They told me that your Great Uncle told them that one of their twins died at birth and the other was sent to be adopted.” He held out brownish-haggard, ragged edged notebook.  “Here is the journal where he wrote he dropped the pup off in the woods behind the Kent Pack. He wrote he made a deal with a pack member to adopt the other one.”

Nope. The Master wasn’t insinuated . . . Bobby glanced at Daddy Simon, whose jaw was shut as tight as he’d ever seen them. That said a lot. As a son of the Pack Alpha he’d saw Daddy Simon worked up and pissed off many of times, but never to the point that it looked like his jaw might explode through his cheeks.

“Take it and read it for yourself.”

Bobby took the book and carefully opened the tattered edged notebook. “Where has this been kept?”

“Your parent’s had it in some crates in their basement. Not the best environment for an old Master’s belongings. I’ve confiscated the rest of his stuff and have them being stored properly.”

“How do you know they did not doctor these?”

“I knew your Great Uncle. Master Howard’s handwriting was unique among the Master work. His very personal manner is passed down to each Master so that we know how to know if his work is every brought in front of us. We are each trained to have a personal touch to our Master work. That is how I know this is an authentic journal of his.”

He carefully flipped to the page that a book marker had been placed in. It was dated his birthday.

July 12, 1999

Today my great niece gave birth to a set of monsters, leaving me with the responsibility to save the face of the family name. As much as it tore her heart into shreds I took the babes from her arms and headed into the woods five pack towns away. Kent pack was known for their kindness for strays and I knew that the Alpha there is a sick freak himself. He is secretly mated to a man. Hate having to let shit like that go on, but it’s small compared to species mixing like my sister did. I knew from my informant that the unknown Alpha Mate would be taking his evening walk, making it easy for me to run into him. I made a deal with him to adopt one and told him I would leave the other in a cave deep in his woods. That when they were seventeen he could introduce them.

The journal went on and on about how sickening his sister’s actions was and how lucky she was that he let the monsters she bore live at all. Guess him and Bill was lucky too. What hadn’t been lucky was that his dad had been killed before he was able to introduce them. That he had not talked to his . . .

“Daddy Simon . . .”

“No, Son. I promise I knew nothing.”

Other words . . . There was no one to punish for the crime committed against Bill or the fact that my marriage was destroyed and the love of his life killed himself because what the current Master ordered him to do.

Warm streaks spilled down over my cheeks as tight arms fell around my shoulders. His own scent engulfed him, but it wasn’t his. Bill was holding him tight. He gave himself a second or two to expel the tears then took a deep breath and sat up taller.

“I’m fine Bill.”

Bill released him and tapped his leg. “I have a question, Bobby?”

“What is it?”

“Do you want me to return to the woods?”

“No!” Bobby took hold of his face and forced him to look him in the eyes. “I want you to know all that you have missed out on. I want you to find the true you and find your mate and have a great life. Starting tomorrow after the Second In Command Fights I will begin showing you what all I know about being a Wolf/Vamp.”

Ruffling of clothes had him looked around the room and spotting the Master standing. Good thing too. Bobby wanted the man gone. He brought nothing but horribleness to his life. Man who was supposed to be the one to take care of the supernatural seemed to be destroying his life.

“I will be leaving. Sorry to have to bring you more troublesome news.”

Bobby stood and followed him to the door. He opened it and shut it behind him. Without another word he walked back over and sat down beside Daddy Simon.

“Where are you staying?”

“I have a room down the hall. The Master won’t let me stay in Tommy’s house. He’s claimed it as his own.” He shook his head. “Once Tony’s lawyer gets here, I’ll decide where I wish to stay.”

Course he’d have to the pick of places to stay. Tony had homes stretched across most of the US and most likely some in other countries. Bobby was sure they all went to Daddy Simon. The two of them had a thing going since his dad died. And now Daddy Simon found himself alone again. So did he. Tommy had taken his Uncle’s life.

He rubbed his hand over his face, cursing the entire thought that Tony and Tommy both was dead. It made no sense. He wasn’t a violet type of guy. He’d never harm a flee. And why would . . .

“Did Tommy really do this, Daddy Simon?”

“I don’t think so.” He leaned his head back against the sofa. “I think the Master is up to something.”

Just what he feared. Why else would he have taken over Tony’s house. He knew it would go to Daddy Simon. He knew the two were mated. He knew Tony would have a will that covered more than one contingency if his life was taken. Right down to who became the leader of the Mob.

Daddy Simon yawned and stood. “I’m going to my room. Get some rest before the fight. Alpha Kind has invited me to them.”

Right. The fights were in a couple of hours. Damn. Another thing for him to focus on when all he wanted to do was mourn his mate. Cal wanted to discover who had murdered his mate. He was sure his mate had not taken Tony’s life or his own.

Chapter 59

The evening was long and tuff. He’d had to explain to Bill what the motorcycle was and why they were going to use it. How to get on it and how to move with him. Then there was explaining the shower to him. The man truly knew nothing about being a human, let along living a life as a supernatural being. Life was going to be challenging for them. Least someone had told him what a bed was for and he’d been excited about being able to sleep on something other than the ground. Eating had been another challenge, or Bobby thought it would be, but Bill told him that Alpha Kind showed him the forks, spooks, and knives. Little had been taught to him, but every bit helped. Guess.

Bobby had just fallen into a comfortable sleep when a stake ripped through his chest. Or so it felt like. He bolted upright in his bed, covering his chest, expecting blood to cover his hand. Then heat so intense that his skin might as well have blistered consumed him, forcing him to throw the covers to the foot of the bed. He laid there gasping for air and withering for an hour then it all faded away, leaving behind a sweaty mess of a man. Initial instinct was to call Tommy, but he knew better. Whatever had happened someone else had to take care of. Tony would never let anything happen to Tony. Daddy Simon promised to take care of him. Between the two Tommy would be tucked safely inside his house, pining for him, but safe.

He got up and took a shower and then meandered around the motel suite until time for him to order them breakfast. A knock at the door about half an hour later had him opening without asking who it was. Needless to say, he took three steps back when he came face to face with the Master, Alpha Kind, Daddy Simon and a strange bald man with round rimmed glasses.

“Tell me what has happened?”

Rude, but there was no reason for all of them to show up so early or at all. Something had gone down and since Daddy Simon was here . . . He wasn’t going to think that. Nope. Tommy was safe and sound tucked away with Tony. That’s why neither of them are here. Whatever had happened had to do with his biological parents and them being pissed at his refusal to speak to them the day before. That’s all it was. Simple.

Bill came out wearing a pair of boxes. “Where are . . . Oh . . .”

“Bill your bags of clothes are at the foot of the little sofa. Take them to your room and stay until we call you back in.”

Soon as the door shut Daddy Simon took his stuff to the other room. “I’ll put this stuff away, you take a seat, Bobby.”

Habit of listening to Daddy Simon was the only reason he took a seat when his wolf told him to scream at them to get on with it.

“Bobby,” The Master said, “About midnight Tommy killed his Mr. Stake and then himself.”

Fuck. That’s what had happened. His connection to his mate had been ended. Why had he not considered it then? No reason to. Tommy was not the kind of person to do such. Kind hearted. Smart. Calm. Good natured. He would not . . .

“You sure?” He looked at Alpha Kind.

Alpha Kind’s nod had Bobby throwing his head back, but stopping a second before he released a howl. He let his head fall forward. Tears fell onto his hands that were clamped in his lap. It was his fault. Nope. He had not been the one that wanted to leave. It had not been his . . . Tony had made the restriction, but he had no way to know that such a twisted situation would arise and force Tommy to make a decision that would split them up. They should never had been placed in such a spot. It should have been simple enough for Bobby to train Bill while he lived in a place by himself after he got the foundation of how to live. It would have only taken a couple of weeks. That would have been manageable, then him and Tommy would have been back together. It was the Master’s fault. He deserved to be tore into. Ripped from his mate? Did he have a mate? Does he know what he had done to him?

“Mr. Timbers,” the bald headed guy lowered his head so he could look me in the eyes, “I’m so sorry for your loss. I knew Tommy well. He was a great man.” The words were more comfort than the man knew. Least he knew that Tommy wasn’t the man that would kill and take his own life. He was more than that. “He left this for you.”

A long white envelope with my name written in the pretty cursive writing that belonged to his mate.

Honey,

These past few weeks was the best of my life, but me and Stay can’t live without you and Cal so I am taking my final journey. Because of Uncle’s promise everything goes to his company, so I have only two things to leave you. One is the picture of our wedding day. Two is your ring. I want you to do me a favor, take the Master’s seat and run the wolf world like it should be. I know I ask the impossible since a Mixed can not challenge the Master, but you would have taken him. I want you to find someone to take care of you. Let Simon know I am sorry I took his partner’s life.

Love always,

Your baby.

He folded the paper and slipped it back into the envelope, pressing it to his chest. He was about to tell the Master to leave when he spotted Daddy Simon lingering by the bedroom door. “Daddy Simon, are you alright?”

He shook his head. “I am. When he caused you two to separate I lost all love I had for him.”

“How are you?”

“I am lost at this moment.”

“I’m afraid the Master has more.”

More? He felt his eyebrow raise and his fist ball up. Lord he wished he could do as Tommy asked. If only Mixed could take the Master’s seat. Cal was eight times stronger than the Master. And someone needed to teach other supernaturals how to not be bigots.

The Master sat up taller and held his head higher as if he pronounced his power it would make his next pronouncement easier to take. Nothing the man said would be of any use to me. Or matter to me.

“As a week ago, I pardoned James Taylor. He is a lone wolf living in this area.”

Wrong. Shocked him. James had caused problem for him and Tommy, but there was no him and Tommy anymore. Guess there was no issue for them to have. And all he cared about was getting on with his life. Helping his brother.

“No problem.”

“Time to bring out Bill so I can explain what your biological family admitted to.”

Chapter 58

“Baby, sit and listen to me.” Those words hurt worse than the knowing he’d lost over twenty years with his twin.

“What is it, honey.”

“I am sorry about all this.” He ran his finger down Tommy’s face, tracing the contour of his jaw. “I am giving your permission to request our marriage and bond be broken, or we can live apart while I am teaching Bill. It is your choice.”

Fuck to hell. Could they not have one conversation without an interruption? “Who is it!”

“Alpha Kind.”

Great. Just what he needed. More officials. “Come in.” The door opened and he stuck his head in first and then slipped in. “How may we help you, Alpha?”

“Sorry to bother you again, but I wanted you to know I fought for you not to have to do this. Will you still live up to our deal about second fights?”

Fuck. Course that’s all he cared about. His life wasn’t falling apart in front of him. His was still moving on like a working breathing and living plant. No bumps. Right amount of rain. Right amount of sun. Rich soil. Didn’t matter that life fell apart. He’d made a promise and it had to be lived up to. Even if his life fell to hell and back. Daddy Simon and dad taught him to uphold his word and he would not dishonor them.

“Yes, Alpha, if . . . You will break our marriage and bond if that is what Tommy decides.”

“Why would he do such?”

“The Master is making me get another place for us to live while he is learning.”

“I see. You are unwilling or do not wish for him to live away from his home or under one that is being controlled by another.”

He hadn’t considered the  Master controlling the place he bought, but . . . “Yes, Alpha Kind. I can’t let my mate be miserable. That would not be taking care of him or ensuring his happiness.”

“I will do as he wishes.” He faced Tommy. “Tommy Timbers, what do you wish?”

Tommy knelt on the edge of the bed as he frowned. “Bobby, I love you but I don’t want to leave my house and I promised Uncle when he let me leave his home that I would always live where he bought me a place. I know he won’t let me live here and be mated to you and you not be able to live with me.”

As much as it tore Bobby’s heart in half, he had known the pain that laced their mate link earlier had a valid reason. Least Tommy had told him what. He gave his mate a forced smile and nodded.

“Baby, it’s fine. Just tell the Alpha that they need to be broken so that he won’t get into trouble with Uncle Tony. Then me and Bill will go to a motel. Just always remember I love you.” He leaned in and took one more kiss from him.

“Alpha Kind, please break all the marriage bonds.”

“Tommy are you sure?”

“I have no choice and Bobby knows it.”

They stared into each other’s eyes until the bonds were broken. Tears streamed down Tommy’s face the entire time. He took off his ring and placed it in Tommy’s hand. “Take care of yourself. Me and Bill will be gone soon as I get my clothes packed and make arrangements for Daddy Simon to bring them to me.”

Tommy closed his fist around the ring and lowered his eyes. “Alpha Kind, may I go to my gym and Uncle Tony not be told where I am?”

“Yes, go.”

He watched as the door closed behind Tommy and then stood and made his way to the closest. “I must pack.”

“I will tell Simon to come to you.” He made one step and then paused. “There is one more thing.”

“What else. My life is ruined.”

“Master has made a written order that denies you and Bill from being transfered.”

“Great so I will be in the same group as Tommy.”

“Actually no. He made him lone wolf.”

Looked as if he knew what had Tony in a fit when he picked them up. Another reason Tommy was going to rip into his Uncle at some point and time. Hoped Tony understood how much pain he caused my mate.

“Okay. I’ll let you know where we are staying until I find us a house.”

He’d just fastened his suitcase when Daddy Simon knocked. “Come in, Daddy Simon.”

He stopped halfway through the door. “Why are you packing?”

He quickly explained what had gone down and then asked him to bring his stuff to him at the hotel he got him and Bill.

“Bill? Why is he going to be with you?”

“Master’s orders.”

With all the strength he could mustered he held back the tears. They’d be none until he was alone. His mate was breaking apart as he spoke and he needed to make sure he made it out of the house. If he broke he’d run and collect his mate and steal him away to complete their hearts again. It would not matter that it was not what Tommy wanted, even if his own desires was tearing him in half.

“I have to teach him how to be a wolf/vamp. We have to live in the same place until the Master says different.” He lifted the suitcase and carried it over to Daddy Simon. “Can you do me a favor?”

“Sure.”

“Keep Tommy safe for me.”

“I will.”

“I’m headed to the Shaker Motel in town.”

Didn’t even get down the hallway before running into Alpha Kind and Bill. Least it wasn’t the Master. Was pretty sure Cal would have tore him in half if he saw him again. A scream rippled down the hallway, making him spin and take a step. He took in a deep breath and glanced over at the room door he’d just left.

“Daddy Simon, please do as I asked.” He faced Bill and said. “Let’s go.” He squeezed Alpha Kind’s shoulder as he passed him. “When is the challenge setup for?”

“Two nights from now. See you later.”

Chapter 57

“Mate, I’m sorry this ruined our honeymoon.” He tugged  Tommy into the room by his shirttail. “I should be breaking in each room of our new house.”

“Honey,” Tommy kissed his cheek and gave his ass a quick squeeze, “We will do that as soon as we get down there.”

Bobby slapped Tommy’s ass and pulled him against him by his ass and claimed his lips. A deep grunt broke their deep, passionate kiss. He’d like to say he apologized like a civilized person, but he didn’t. Nor did he let Tommy when he got ready to. He shook his head at him and Tommy just sighed.

“Bobby,” a tall black headed man came up to him holding a needle and a blue strip of rubber. “I’ve done taken blood from Bill. Won’t take but a minute. Hold your arm out.”

Man was right. He’d barely had time to blink before the man had filled the tube full of blood. He looked back at the Master and bowed his head and left the room. The Master took hold of Bill’s arm and pulled him forward.

“Stand still while Bobby walks up to you and sniffs you.”

Didn’t even have to get close to him to catch the hint of . . . Old leather books and grease. Damn it. Bill was . . . It was . . . A mirror image. Bobby’s breath left him as he stumbled back. Tommy’s hard body kept him from falling flat onto his back. How had this happened? Why had this happened? When had this . . . When was clear if Bill had never been in human form. At their birth. Only way they could have identical scent was if they were . . . Twins. Blood relatives would have had one scent or the other, but not both. Was the story Thomas and Lucy told him true? Or had they made it up to cover up giving one child up for adoption while . . . Why would they have not given both up for adoption? Made no sense.

“Sir,” The doctor walked back in and looked at Bill then him. “They are brothers. Twins. Identical. As you can tell, but the blood . . .”

His knees gave way and he slid down Tommy’s body until the hardwood floor slammed into his knees. His head flew back and Cal released a howl loud enough that the windows rattled until shards of glass clattered against the floor. Tommy’s arms were around him. He muttered words of comfort in his ear, but he could not hear a single one of them. All he felt was currents of stabbing pain splitting his mind as the howls faded into whimpers. Tommy rocked right along with him as Cal and him shivered.

“Master,” the soft, tender voice broke through the pain lacing him. “What is wrong with him?”

“He’s in pain, Bill. Mourning his lost time with his brother.”

Warm hands gripped my cheeks, holding them in place. “Honey, look at me.” Something about Tommy’s soft command had Cal and him calming enough he could focus on him. “Do you need to run?”

He shook his head and whispered, “Just some rest.”

“Master, may we go get some sleep?”

“In a minute.” The Master moved so he hovered over us, making Cal stiffen. The simpering shifted into a snarl. “Bobby listen to me. Bill has been brought into the Wolf/Vamp Group per my order. Also by my order, you will teach him how to live a normal life. I know you just got married, but this has to be done. Until I gage him as able to live on his own your honeymoon is off.”

Bobby sprang to his feet and right into the Master’s face. “That’s unfair.”

“I am not done, wolf so stand down.”

Cal refused to let Bobby follow that order, but the Master seemed unphased by his disobedience.

“Tony has said he is not welcomed to live in the house. You will have to buy you and your husband another house to live in.”

Pain raced down the mate link, all but dragging him to his knees. He wasn’t sure why, but he knew enough to know that there was no way he could do as the Master ordered. Unsure the reasoning behind it. Cal and him both knew that neither could stand for their mate to be in such misery. No matter the reason. Left them with only one option, give him permission to remain here.

“Master, are you going to make those people pay for what they have done?”

“Yes.”

“Master my we go now?”

“Sure.”

Chapter 56

Bobby cursed when the limo pulled into a full driveway. Who all was here? He glanced over at Tony, who gave him a shoulder shrug that clearly said none of it was his idea. That he’d known from the moment the man said he’d been ordered to keep his mouth shut. Not that anyone could really order Tony to do anything. If he chose to do so, he thought it best the one that needed to know something found out from a different person. An idea that Bobby despised. Had to be horrible if Tony believed the new twist best revealed from an outsider. More than one from the looks of their driveway.

“Uncle?”

The waver in Tommy’s voice had Bobby tugging him onto his lap. “It will be perfectly fine. Promise.”

“He’s right, nephew.” Tony slid from the limo when his drive opened the door. He held his hand out for Tommy, who shook his head.

When Tommy refused to take his Uncle’s hand, Tony leaned back in. Bobby gave him a short nod and waited for him to shut the door. Once they were enclosed inside he snuggled his nose against Tommy’s neck, licking the side of it.

“Do you trust me?”

“With my entire world.”

“Then you know I’m not going to let anything happen. Right?”

“Yes, but . . . You don’t know what awaits you inside. Tony does and if he . . . He never keeps me in the dark. Why now?”

“Baby, he does not want to be the one to tell me whatever lies ahead of me. Whatever it is . . . I’m sure it’s not going to be to my liking. He believes it would be best if he did not deliver that message.”

Tommy leaned back and stared him in the eyes. He could see his words sinking into Tommy’s mind. Once he had worked out the meaning, he gave a small nod and tapped the window. The door opened and Tony held his hand out.

“Ready?”

“Guess so.” Tommy took his hand and slid off his lap.

Bobby climbed out behind him. He cursed each step they took to the door.  He expected the hallway to have a feel of dread, but nothing but a scent of cinnamon bread greeted him. Daddy Simon had been baking. Comfort food. His favorite. Daddy Simon pulled out his homemade cinnamon bread receipe when he knew his son had a rough day. Leave it to his Daddy Simon to find a way to warn him. Or had he done it to ease him from having to leave his honeymoon. That was it more likely. He knew a werewolf would despise having their private time with their new mate interrupted.

“They are in the living room.” Daddy Simon said as he exited the kitchen.

Course they were. Where else would people gather to deliver news. Tony and Daddy Simon entered before them, moving to the right of the door. Bobby followed them in, ensuring that Tommy remained behind him. No way would his mate walk into a room that held unknown situation, even if his Uncle, the biggest mobster in America had already entered the room on his own. Bobby’s wolf would have came charing forward if he’d allowed such foolishness.

He might should have had him entered beside him, because soon as he took in the room he froze, making Tommy run into his back, all but knocking him to the floor. He stumbled three steps before he caught himself. His eyes never left the newest face, yet not new. He saw it ever day in his life.

“How . . . What . . . Where . . . Fuck me! What the hell is going on!”

Tommy came up to his side, but he grabbed him and all but threw him to Tony, who caught him and put him behind him, right where Bobby wanted him to remain. His wolf snarled and bared teeth at the entire room of people. Cal did not care one bit that he challenged the Master, Alpha David, Thomas, Lucy and the guy who looked identical to him.

“Down, wolf.” The Master’s stern tone only had me turning to face Tony, Daddy Simon and Tommy.

“Mate, go to our room.”

Tommy slipped between the wall and Tony and all but ran from the room. Bobby followed behind him. He’d made it halfway down the hall when the Master yelled for him to stop.

Bobby reached out and snagged the back of Tommy’s shirt, bringing him to a halt. He kept him still as he spun to face the Master. He locked eyes with the Master, a fact that no wolf should dare do, but he could care less what was protocol. The bastard was in his house.

“Tell me what out of the situation has your wolf upset the most.”

Lots. Where to start. “What would you do if you were summoned home from your honeymoon to find the one who stalked you and your mate sitting in human form in your house sitting like he’d never done a single thing wrong. How would you feel? Then there is the fact that he looks exactly like me.”

Bobby was unsure if the Master could make out the last part of his response. He tried his damnedest to keep his wolf back, which meant his teeth were clinched shut the entire time he spoke.

“Bill was a stranded wolf. He had never been out of wolf form until I called his human form forward after you left for your trip.” Trip? Screw him. It was more than any simple trip. It was his honeymoon. He knew that. “He didn’t have a name. He didn’t know why he had fangs. All he knew were they hurt when they came out. He was not trying to hurt you. He wanted to know why you smelled like him.”

Smelled . . . “Hold up.” Bobby threw his hands into the air. “He says I smell like him?”

The Master nodded.

“What exactly did you want us to come home for?”

“I want you to see if he smells like you without your biological parents finding out and my Dr. Is going to check if you two are related.”

Without my biological parents knowing? Then why were they sitting out there? Bill would have already smelled them. He’d taken note of my scent. No way he missed theirs. What had kept him from asking them?

“Why has he not asked them?”

“Me.”

“Why are they here in the first place if you wanted this done without their knowledge?”

“Are you willing to do this for me?”

“You are not going to answer me?”

“Bobby, I asked you a question.”

The Master’s tone held power behind it and put a ripple over him that had him squaring his shoulders as he tried to refuse to do as told. Something inside told him he could get by without listening to the Master, but him and Cal wanted to know the truth about the guy who’d named himself Bill.

He looked over at Tommy and nodded towards the closest door. Tommy made his way to it and opened the door. He stood in the doorway and crossed his arms. Bobby mocked his stance and nailed the Master with what he hoped was the sternest look possible.

“If you want this done . . . It will be done away from my biological parents.” He wasn’t sure what was going on, but if Bill smelled like him then they were related in some manner. Closely too, which meant Thomas and Lucy had known more than they told him when he spoke to them the other day.

“Fine, lead me to the room and I will bring in Bill and the Doctor.”

“That room there.” He pointed to the room that Tommy stood in front of.
