Calvin scratched his head. His ears still rung from the loud whistle that had drawn him to the middle of the Richardson Hill. It wasn’t an area people in the community came to. That’s what shocked him most when he heard the whistle. Curiosity surely could kill. In his case, it just might literally take him from this world.

Right at the base of the heel stood a large three headed dog. Drool dripped from the middle head’s mouth as the other two heads’ eyes glowed red and snarled at the . . . was that really . . . there was no way. He was . . . yeah. That was it. He was hallucinating. Someone had slipped something into his . . . couldn’t be the case. He’d made his lunch. A plain bologna and cheese sandwich with lettuce and onions. He’d not put anything else on it. The bread and everything else had came from unopened packs. No one had slipped anything into those items. Nope.

“Who are you?”

The little pixie like man moved so he stood sideways, taking in him as well as the three headed dog. Calvin didn’t blame him for keeping that beast in eye sight. He wasn’t about to put his back to either of those creatures. Men did not have pointed ears and tiny little pointed cute as hell noses. Nor did they go around wearing bright pink intriguing patterns painted across his forehead and around his cheeks.

“What are you?”

Calvin hadn’t meant to ask either questions, but his mind was trying to work the situation out, but without information he could not do so. He had to have the entire picture to understand what was going down on Richardson’s Hill. Then maybe he could rid his mind of this assine situation.
