Huldra is associate with Scandinavian, Norwegian, Swedish,
Sami (Lapplanders) and German folklore. Huldran is a wood nymph and described
to look like a beautiful woman with long hair, but she has a cow’s tail and a
hollowed out back. Some of the myths speaks of her luring men into the woods
and keeping them until they agree to marry her. Some of the folklores state
that once married in a church in God’s name she gains the strength of ten. The
mere description of her peeked my curiosity and I found myself spending almost
an hour flipping through images of Huldras. I finally narrowed it down to one
to share with you.
