Cal chased Stay over fallen logs and through bushes right to the stream that was deep in the woods behind the house. There they drank some water before they began their trek back to the house. Half way to the house, Cal sniffed Stay’s rear end, getting a soft whimper from him as he lowered himself to the ground and stuck his ass in the air. It was all Cal needed to mount him and take him. Afterwards the two of them lay beside each other and rested until the sunset. The two of them were just about to head home when Cal caught the scent of another wolf. He nudged Stay and the wolf picked up his speed, but the strange wolf kept gaining on them. Cal nudged Stay harder and he began to run. We where a half mile away from the house when a wait high gray wolf jumped out in front of Stay. Cal leapt over Stay, letting out several distress howls before he snarled at the stranger. He was ready to tear into the wolf, but first he wanted to know why the jackass was there and what he wanted. Didn’t seem like the gray wolf wanted to give him info. The wolf growled and crouched, readying to attack. Cal was ready for him, but Daddy Simon and Tony answered my distress howls. The wolf sniffed the air and then darted off in the opposite direction soon as Tony’s wolf appeared on his left side.

Cal nudged Tommy to him and then chased after the strange wolf. He heard the thuds of the guards paws behind him. He tracked the scent all the way to the stream, but lost it there. He was sure the wolf had chosen to travel through the stream to avoid leaving a scent trail. Which way he went from there was anyone’s guess. Cal shook his head and tossed it back towards the house when the guards gave him a questioning look.

Tony and Daddy Simon awaited me at the sliding glass door. They let me walk into the room, where Tommy sat on the bed wringing his hands. He jumped to his feet and rushed over, throwing his arms around him. Cal recede and left him holding a softly wheaping Tommy.

“It’s alright, baby. I’m fine. I’m perfectly fine.”

“Who was that, honey?”

He wished he knew. No one had the right to invade his terrriorty and scare his mate. Making him cry was the ultimate crime, beside harming him.

“Bobby,” Tony’s voice drew me away from inspecting Tommy for any sign of injury, even though he knew there was none. “Did you find anything? The guards said you lost his trail at the stream. Any other piece of information you picked up on?”

“Let me dress first.” He picked up his clothes from the foot of the bed and slid into them. “I discovered nothing that would help in telling me who he is. I will know his scent from now on. I do wish to thank you both for getting to us so quickly and watching over Tommy while I tracked him.”

“That is a plus.” Daddy Simon’s deep sigh told him he’d missed something else while tracking the mysterious wolf.

“What is it?”

“Alpha Kind called and is on his way over.”

“Why?”

“You know we were supposed to fill him in if anything arose, so I did as told.”

Right. Had not wanted him involved. There were too many hands in the pot. Tony. His guards. Alpha Kind. And him. All that needed to be involved was him and Tony and those Tony deemed necessary. Otherwise he was more than capable to take care of his mate. But rules had been stated and they had to be followed. Or so Tommy believed they did. From the deep frown on Tony’s face, he’d not been pleased with Tommy contacting Alpha Kind.

“He is also coming over to talk to you about something else.” Tony’s words held a bit of a bite to them. It set Bobby’s nerves on edge and had him standing up a bit taller.

“Baby, did he tell you what this was about?”

“No, honey.”

There was a bit of a waver to his voice. Any other time, Bobby would have said the man had lied to him, but Tommy had reason to be upset. He’d nearly been attacked while out with his mate on his own land. That’s freak anyone out.

“Then we wait to he gets here.”
