Chapter 43

Tommy and him had just sat down when the doorbell rang. Tommy got up and made his way to the door, escorting Alpha Kind back into the living room where the rest of them sat. Alpha Kind gave Tony, Daddy Simon, and him all a small tilt of the head as Tommy came and took his spot beside him. Bobby wasn’t too keen on how dismissive Alpha Kind was of Tommy, but he knew it was their way of life, which was the only reason nothing was said about it. Tony would have jumped all over him if that hadn’t been the case. Tommy would have clawed his eyes out of his skull for doing such if it wasn’t proper.

“Heard there was some excitement in the woods.” Alpha Kind paced back and forth in front of the living room window, glancing out it after each full trip.

He knew something. What? Answer his questions might get him that answer.

“Yes, Sir.” Bobby’s voice came out rough and tight. “I tracked him to the stream before losing his scent.”

Alpha Kind stopped in the center of the window and stared out it. He gripped his wrist and placed them behind his back, sighing a couple of times. “Bobby, . . . I think . . . Yes, why don’t we go somewhere private and talk.”

Damn it. What in the world had he done to warrant a private conversation? All he’d done was defend his mate. Not even touched the bastard. He would have killed him if he’d caught up to the man. But that would have been within his right. He had been stalking him. Threatened his mate. No one got away with doing such.

“Sure, come this way.” Bobby stood and led the way to the room that Tommy had decked out like a small office.

There were two small chairs in front of the desk that sat in front of a window that overlooked the backyard and the angel shaped garden pond. Beautiful sight. Soothing and perfect view for him to be scolded for something.

“Did I do something wrong?”

“No. No. Did not mean for you to think that. You where more than within your right to track that rogue down.” Alpha Kind went over to the chairs and sat down. “Come take a seat. This conversation has . . . Well it’s more of a personal questions than that related to the situation I was called about.”

Bobby’s limbs all but went limp, making him flop into the chair. He managed to sit down and stay upright in a proper seated position. His mind did question what Alpha Kind meant, but he knew better than to just blurt out a query. He might not have been raised in among Mixed Communities, but he’d lived in a pack his entire life and knew the etiquettes of such.

“I wanted to know . . . Would you like to learn how to combine your wolf sense with your vampire ones.”

He’d knew such was possible, but had no idea how much it would help him to do so, or how to do so. Would doing so aid him in protecting Tommy? “Will this increases my ability to protect my family?”

“It will.”

“Are you offering to teach me?”

“For a trade.”

Course he wanted something. Should have known. He was an alpha. Most never gave something without getting something. Daddy Simon wasn’t as bad as other Alphas he’d seen.

“What?”

“If you consider fighting fro the Second in Command position when you return from your honeymoon I will teach you how to use both senses.”

“Why would you want me as Second in Command.” He knew only one side of himself. Clear that Alpha Kind depended on both sides of his nature and demanded such out of his group.
