Chapter 1

“Our world has come to an end. We are no longer a single species, people want you to think these monsters are like us. They are far from civilized. If we look over the years of their hidden action among us, we will see this. If we had known about these beast, we would not have voted Javis Anderson the 4th into office. We would still have a two-term position among the president seat. Not an open-ended one that accommodates the eternal life of the foul creature, who calls himself our salvation. Salvation that comes at the ultimate cost of us turning over our death to him or another Vampire of our choosing. He has already stolen our states and counties from us and arranged them into Sectors ran by his chosen Vampires. He refuses to allow anyone other than his own people to take control, We have not lived under an authorative rule since the United States was created. Are we going to let him revoke what we have always known was best for us?

We have allowed a nasty, vile creature from the pits of Hell, that takes  blood from us daily to survive, to take control of our lives. His daily requirement of blood is the only reason that him and his monstrous alien race has taken over and put the law into affect that will cause us to become extent. Javis Anderson the 4th is the one that will be the death of our race and we have allowed it to happen. His trickery began fifteen years ago. He showed how much patients he has. He attack us from within. It is time for us to come straight at him.”

Julian had summoned him to the media room. Javis despised the accurately named room. Thin flat screen monitors graced every inch of all three walls. A smoothed covered sheet of wood had been pinned to the wall underneath them for people to sit and watch them. Dead center of the main wall sat a sixty inch television with the main new station that flickered between each new station across the world. Or it did until Julian pointed to the screen. It stopped and a deep, stern, scratchy tone filled the room. The medium build man had his hands behind his back, and Javis was sure he gripped them so tight that they were whiter than any piece of paper he’d seen.

“We have a major problem.” Julian said.

The man’s soft voice seemed out of place for the blaring anger flashing across his face. Man was in the right though. They had a major Hell storm coming their way. The vileness of the speaker’s words would rile up lots of humans. Most supported the changes he had made over the years of his political career and since he became the Commander and Chief of the United States. Still, there were defectors against all leaders. He was no exception.

“We have to do damage control.”

“You think.”

“Don’t go getting snippy with me.”

“I’ll do as I please.”

There was a dire call to rebuke the nasty speech. He had to fill in the holes that such hate filled words would create. He had to get the man out of the public eye. People would flock to him. The guy might not have asked them to, but . . . He had.

What did he do?

“We have to get out in front of this. I’ll call . . . you and Andy Candyman, from News Station 46, has the best recor. He’ll do perfect.”

He had to reach out to Dracula before he reacted. Didn’t he? Not an entire act had been made without direction from the Royal Blood Society since he’d been set out on his mission. Thing had been laid out directly and he’d been given specific orders. Yes, some things had been left up to the best course of action to get the upper hand in votes over the human race, but that had came from what he learned to do from education and him and his political group came up with. Dracula did not get involved in those aspect. Wasn’t this the same thing? It was. And this required a . . .

“Set up the press conference. I’ll get with Mateo and take care of the rest.” He’d have to get the deep and dirty on the new vocal threat. Find out where he came from. Who he was? All the dirty things that he could not unearth, but that Mateo and his Private Investigation department of his Security All The Time company could. They’d do so on the down low where he could not.

“Don’t make another mess for me to have to clean up.”

Looked as if his head of social presences was getting too big of a head. He’d have to be taken down a notch or two himself. Put in his place.

“Do I usually?” Javis waved at the screen. “Cut that shit off.” He spun on his heels and marched out of the room. Uncaring if they followed his order or not. They wouldn’t. Julian had them scared to miss one mention of his name in the media. Not that he could blame him. The world consisted of nothing but press. Worse it was, better people loved it. Even though, he had total control over the United States and had had for the last five years.

It’d taken him and his entourage of supporters six years to boost his following enough to get him voted into the White House and then two years to get the two-term administration term abolished. After that, it’d been a piece of cake to gather enough votes to shift the dynamics of the United States. The governing bodies faded into nothing and states, cities, and towns were turned into huge sectors and the existence of Vampires were brought to life. From there he had total control of the United States and Dracula’s overall plan had came to life. Other Vampires had done the same in other parts of the world and in each section a rule called Vampire Guardian had came into play. Simply stated that the human belonged to Javis or another one of the Vampires among the United States. That Vampire and the human had made a binding contract that upon his or her death the human would be kept alive long enough for the Vampire to reach him and then be changed into a Vampire by said Vampire. If no contract existed one had been created with Javis and a contract had been created with him and he was called in.

“What has happened?” Elijah came up to his side with his notepad and pen at the ready. Elijah Cones was the perfect assistant and best friend anyone could ask for. He never missed what was going on in his life. Knew when he needed a friend over a coworker and vise versa.

“Call Mateo and tell him to meet me in my office.”

“That bad, is it?”

Boy was it. He had to squash this man’s spillage before more came from him. He could not let one moment of doubt about how he ran the United States creep to life. If such took root in the United States it would in other areas of the world and Dracula’s plan would begin to unravel. Javis might not really have cared about how the plan fared to start with, but it had consumed the last fifteen years of his life and he would never go against what the Royal Blood Society asked him to do. Told him more like it. Voted for it. As the Vampire world liked to say they did.

“MIght as well call Mother as well.”

She’d have to be the one to reach out to Dracula and the rest of the Royal Blood Society. Far as the humans knew, no such group existed or had involvement with his decisions for the United States. Had to remain that way. Only reason, Elijah knew about it was that the man had been involved in every aspect of his life since they were in college working towards their Political Science degree.

“Darn it. Truly is bad.” Elijah pulled his phone out and began texting. “Mateo will meet us there in ten minutes. And I have to get the personal phone to reach out to Mother to cancel your supper plans.”

Code always worked best when dealing with Royal Blood Society. His personal phone had two numbers stored in it. His mother’s and his one true Vampire friend. Both of which, he always wanted their conversation kept away from the public eyes so he had an untraceable satellite phone that only he and Julian knew the location of. It’d take his mother about two hours, or less if she saw the broadcast, to reach out to him. Hell, if Dracula himself saw it, he’d be reaching out to him before she did. He hoped the all but recluse lifestyle the old Vampire lived kept him clueless.
