Stolen Choices Prologue

 Hi

Hope all enjoyed the Entourage of Love. I enjoyed writing it and can't wait to go back and fix it up into a full length book for publication. I'm unsure when I will get to doing that, with me working on the Hell's Kingdom seven book series, but it and Inherited The Mob will be ones I work on soon. But for know . . .

It's time to start another story. This time we are going into the world of Vampires, who have taken over the world, but the one who was tasked with doing so isn't keen on the idea and his Heart Owner is . . . well let's just say very vocal about vampires and their actions.

Hope you enjoy Stolen Choices.

Where else would Dracula have them meet? Seculison. Area was secluded to start with, but he went ahead and created an oasis of it. Turned the bright, new green leaves into a canopy over a blanket of . . . stone. They were so high up that grass ceased to exist, which only enhanced the Stonehenge effect that the tall, deep brownish-gray tree trunks created. The sun-aged rocks of the Black Hills of South Dakota only added more of an authentic aspect. No one would accomplish a climb to the peak of the mountain and if they did, the winds rushing through the nature created hollows would mute anything the Royal Blood Society said during their meeting.

“Royal Blood Society,” Dracula’s deep base tone rolled over Javis like a ten foot wave crashing down on him. “Thanks for coming.”

Like he was given a choice. The Royal Blood Society had been formed by Dracula to maintain the secrecy of the Vampires. He’d chosen his five children and their eldest five children to give an air of majority rules leadership. Anyone with one ounce of common sense knew what Dracula said is what went.

“I want to discuss a major plan I have came up with. It will take some time, but the outcome will be more than worth it. I’m sure everyone of you will agree.”

Like we have another choice. Vampires who value their lives did as Dracula said. Without question. His children were no exception. A fact Javis learned early on in his Vampiric life. His mother had been told to avoid a certain faired-haired fellow because of her deep attraction to him, even though he was not her Heart Owner. She failed to do as told and ended up feeding from him and found herself unable to stop. We are only Vampires after all, and our nature does take over from time to time. Like humans, we have some food that just draw us in until we are glutton over it. That fellow was Elizabeta’s. Dracula secluded her in a coffin for ten years with only a small taste of animal blood each day for her disobedience. Mild punishment considering some of his other outlandish ones. The Royal Blood Society was more than well acquainted with Dracula’s outrageous ideas and implementation of them. As wild and strange as some had been, they went along with him.

“I have a plan that will allow us to become the rulers of the world.”

What the . . . oh boy. Most idiotic plan he’d ever came up with.

“It will take time. Many, many, many years, but I’m more than one hundred percent sure it will work.”

“Father,” Elizabeta, the eldest child, therefore, most equipped to wade the waters where Dracula was concerned and only one daring enough to insert herself before he explained, moved to stand in the center of the clearing. “Why do you wish to take over the world?”

Darn good question? He ruled over all the Vampires. He might have a stand-in for him in other countries, but they had to get approval for every little move they made. Some would say, right down to the next breath they took.

“My sweet, sweet Elizabeta, we will be able to cease living in the shadows. We will have control over who is in charge and when they are in charge. We will be able to put more Vampires in positions of power. This will give those who wish, and have the strength that is going to waste, to express and expel it safely. Do you not agree?”

Javis knew his mother would agree with her father before she gave a small nod, but at least he saw her flickering her fingers the way she did when she was giving an idea an indepth work though. He wasn’t sure where he stood on the idea. Some of what Dracula pointed out made sense, but he’d liked time to study over the exact words spoken. Dig into each section deeper and make sure there would be no loopholes that might come back to bite them in the ass at some later point. Happened many times in the past with Dracula’s plans. There’d be no time for that. Javis could already tell Dracula had the plan ready to lay out and put it in motion. That meant . . .

What did that mean? For the Vampires? For the humans? For the world as a whole?
